Perceiving his deliberate detachment, Alla acquiesces to her current state, obediently reclining, allowing her symptoms of vertigo to subside. The physician had warned her against overexertion. Yet, she had been relentlessly beleaguered by Mr. White for two consecutive days, returning to work without sufficient rest. The ceaseless shuttling between the airport, restaurants, and hotels would exhaust any ordinary person, let alone her. It was this overwork that induced her recurrent disease attacks. 

Alla pondered that she must secure her resignation from Ms. Reed tomorrow. In the forthcoming days, she wished to lie placidly at home, awaiting her end. Otherwise, if a sudden flare-up of her condition occurred like today, and there were no one to rescue her, she would inevitably face sudden death. Who then would be there to collect her remains?
