PAINFUL MARRIAGE

"Ash, you?"
A beautiful youthful woman moaned, she was pushed and tossed to the ground after the ring had fallen on the cold floor making a loud metal noise. Her whole body was screaming in pain. Her curly-tied bun had turned ragged and messy. Furthermore, her white long wedding dress had gotten torn. Her angelic face had a slant cut on the cheek that was yet to be healed, and bruises were beginning to form on her wrists.
Sharp eyes were now glaring down at her in hatred and revulsion. The man was her fiancé who she was to walk down the aisle that day yet, he was looking at her like a plague.
What broke her heart the more was the way his arms encircled lovingly around that woman. Amy Easton. Her step-sister and best friend.
The look on his face was so hostile and bone-chilling. She wondered how someone she admired so much could hate her to that extent. Of all people, she never expected them to betray her. Not them. Why them?? Her heart was severed.
Amy hissed at the frail woman in disgust. She wrapped her hands around the man possessively.
"Ashton, you won't ever leave me, right?" Her cozy voice queried the man. Who wouldn't fall for such a woman??
Out of the sisters, May was the inexperienced and naive one, while Amy was the bold one. Most Men in Maiden town City loved the bold kind and not the shy type. That got Ashton to be tempted by this woman. But the real, quietened truth was that May was more than just gullible. She had an identity no one knows of apart from the closest of people.
May looked at those two, her heart being stung and split. She called out in pain, "Ash, please don't do this, I love you".
"Bitch, don't you dare call my name. Who gave you the liberty to call me? Get the hell out of my sight…do you think after being f**ked by some strange man, I would still marry you? Over my dead body," He snapped at her, his voice dangerously meager.
May felt a pang within her heart. She did that for him. Didn't he say if she slept with that man, he was going to marry her? What went wrong now? Her sights became blurry.
"You made me do it, Ash…why are you hurting me? Admit it!".
These two had been childhood friends and betrothed together from Little. She had dedicated all her life to him. She had always been the susceptible one, pursuing him around, doing all he said, but now…how did it end like this?
She had even slept with a stranger for him, but now, he denies it.
"Ashton, you made me do it…why are you making me the villain? I did all that to have you. You said if I slept with him, then you would marry me… I just wanted to become your wife. I wanted to become Mrs. Dwayne and stay proudly by your side".
Ashton glared at the woman in animosity. His cold eyes pierced through her, making May shiver from the deathly stare.
"Then doesn't that make you absurd, stupid, and unsuitable to become my partner? You think a man wants a woman who can be easily tricked and used. I like women who are bold and sexy, who play hard to get but look at you, though you are beautiful and come from a respectable lineage, see how you are crawling for my love. How do you want the media and news to caption this scene? The spoilt brat youngest daughter of the Easton family dramatically ruining her ceremony, or The easily used woman slept with a random man for a title? What now? You've become speechless".
Amy rolled her eyes at her sister and kissed the man's lips.
"Ash, we should leave her and get married" She pouted. Ashton's eyes softened and he deepened the kiss, "Yes, sweetheart".
"Then I… I promise to be bold… I will become the woman you want and I…i…"
For the first time, being ignored, May cried out in front of the man. She was pleading with him not to break her heart. She was begging, but the two didn't bother with her nonsense and went on with the wedding.
The guests in the church watched the scene in awe. Their mouths moved nonstop as they mocked and taunted the spoiled princess of the Easton family.
"TCH, TCH…look at her, she got ditched on her wedding"
"That's the karma for hurting other people…just because she was rich, she looked down on others…mtchew"
"I bet she'll end her life"
May felt her soul draining away from her body when the pastor finally concluded the wedding.
" I now pronounce you, husband and wife…you may kiss the bride"
"Noooooooooooooooooo" She screamed, her blurry eyes losing the conscious sense of light.
Did she just fall from grace?

Inside a room, a figure woke up to find herself in a chasm of darkness, unsure about what was going on.
She stirred up in fear until she heard a familiar voice.
"You are awake, that's good" the voice squealed in a tone of disdain. May began to wonder how she had failed to see through that person's tricks.
"Amy, why did you do this? Why did you snatch him from me? You don't even love him…why? WHY?" She screeched. But she didn't cry.
The gaunt woman began to cackle viciously. She squatted down and sneered, "I wanted to destroy you…to show father how incapable you are. Did you think I didn't know about our father transferring the property in your name? How could he be so awful and bitter toward me? Being too biased toward his favorite daughter. I am also his daughter, but all he cares about is his beautiful angel. May. For once, did he ever think of me? No!! Just because I am an illegitimate child. For crying out loud, I am his blood whereas you came from some unwanted background" The woman dragged May's hair and screamed, "I will make sure you never survive today…your whole beauty will be destroyed" She laughed maniacally.
"Amy, you've gone insane…father loves us both equally. You are mistaken, let go of me" May winced in pain. She was afraid of death.
"Say your last words, sister and don't you worry, your brother Ashton is safe with me and as you can see, I am pregnant with his child…hahaha, hahaha"
May paused in surprise as she sobbed, but the tears weren't because she was in pain. They were tears of resentment.
"Then my wish is for you two to live happily" She murmured bitterly.
Quickly, a sharp object struck her elegant face. May screamed so loud in ache.
Amy didn't even spare her sister's face as she caused a long mark with the knife on her skin.
"Safe journey to hell, sister" Amy left the storehouse. On her way outside, she clashed with a heavy physique. Her body froze when she realized who it was.
'When did he come back? How did… I might just kill two birds with one stone!' She smiled.
Meanwhile, inside the storehouse.
May was still groaning as she was in a lot of pain. Her heart was slowly decreasing when she continued losing lots of blood.
She was yet to close her hazy eyes when she felt she saw the reflection or shadow of someone. She forced her eyes to be opened to glance at the person. Her brother?
'Xavier? Brother Xavier? Elder brother'!
The tears began flowing down once more.
If she had known better, she would have accepted his proposal. She would have let him have his way with her. Even after everything, he still came for her.
'l am so sorry… I hurt your feelings!
I pray, if possible in my next life, I will see you.
Tears cascaded down her eyes as they went shut, and then…
*Boom*
The warehouse got blown up.
