REALM OF PLEASURE AND FOG (5)

May embarrassedly lowered her head to the floor and began fondling with her fingers. A dreadful tactility crept in her as she unknowingly felt shy and scared.

'They had witnessed her behaving so inhumanly and crazed'

Inside Alex's room. After she left, some things were changed, like the curtains, the chandelier hung above now had little pedals of diamond glass crystals. Silver curtains were horizontally hung at every corner of the room, looking naturally appealing and beautiful.

She stole a look at the person by her left side and gulped.

"A...aunt" She mumbled

"Mother" Isabella corrected, her expression slightly distant. May looked at her and felt mesmerised by her eyes. Alex must have collected them from her.

"Pardon?" She said. Isabella smiled "Call me mother"

For the first time ever, she wished Alex was by her side. Her heart was beating as she was alone with his mother. What did they want to speak about?

"To be honest, I don't like you"

May turned her head to the woman, her eyes rounded.

"My son deserves someone better...I know there is nothing I can do because it seems he found his true happiness. All I am asking is for you to love him, and cherish him. He has been through a lot since his teen. From the hostility in your eyes, I can clearly see how you feel for my son. So I ask you to leave him now...go far away from his life. Let him feel the pain now than eternal agony" She paused and took hold of May's palm on hers, tears threatening to fall. "I have seen his pain and as his mother, it is only normal to want his happiness. Girl, you can still let him go....leave here, far away and ......"

*Bang*

The two women looked at the opened door and froze. Those frightening sets of eyes cut through their chest and gripped their hearts. After speaking with the Old Man, Alex was worried for his wife especially when she was still pregnant. He knew she was having alone time with his mother but he hated it. Unhurriedly, he went towards his room. That's when the pleasant words of his mother entered his ears. His eyes clouded shadily which in turn made him push open the door, startling the two.

"WE ARE LEAVING NOW...YOU'VE STAYED YOUR OVERWLCOME" His cold voice reverberated throughout the room. Isabella rose and tried to explain but Alex had dragged May out of the room.

"Alex, listen to me...this is for your happiness, she doesn't love you"

"Sister-in-law, what happened?" Barb asked as she descended the stairs.

May struggled to free her wrist from the angry man's grasp as she was in pain. She looked around the living room and saw worried eyes on her.

"Stupid grandson, what is this all about?" Elder Su stuck his cane to the ground and used his authoritative voice to ask. Alex stopped and glared at him "Why don't you ask that woman who you call your delicate kind-hearted daughter-in-law?"

"That's no way to speak to one's mother" May scolded him but he was too clouded with the anger in his heart.

Mason went towards his wife and wrapped his arms around her "Alex, speak to your mother with respect...you are a grown-up man already. Don't you still have integrity?" He yelled at his son.

Alex glanced at his side and scoffed "And look who's talking about integrity? First, teach your wife one before ministering them to me"

"ALEX!!!" Elder Su cried. 

Alex looked away and suddenly carried May princess style, about to leave the house when the Old Man announced "Take one more step out and you lose your title and shares of the company"

"Father" Isabella moaned out in shock. The rest of the members were astounded as well. If Alex was sent away, who would be taking care of the company?

Alex didn't turn around when he stopped. The announcement affected him but he pretended not to care "Grandfather, that company is dead without me in it....goodnight"

And he left.

Isabella staggered but her husband supported her "Hubby I just....his happiness, I wanted his happiness, that's all"

Elder Su shook his head like he was tired of their complaints and problems. He called Butler Feng over, who took him to his room.

"You are a disease to everyone...even to your own mother you are this cruel, so what If you heard everything, she was only concerned about you. So ungrateful. It's not like I will stay with you forever. After this child of yours is born, I will definitely do as she says...leave and go far away. I don't love you and you don't as well. What's the use of such a relationship?" May blurted out the moment they returned home. She was so ready to defend his mother.

"Mr Alexander, I will say this to you....over and over again. I don't want you in my life, I don't love you. This thing between us cannot work. Give me this abortion and I promise never to show my face to you. In fact, I will cease to exist in your world" 

"I hate you...I hate you...I hate you so much. Not only are you depriving me of my freedom and happiness, you even humiliated your mother who didn't even for a bit mean any harm. Do you know how I felt when she touched my hand, the insecurities, and fear I once felt, they all vanished. You have no idea how important a mother is to one's life" She supported herself by the pillar of the bar and beads of sweat sat on her face. Tears shimmered around her eyes.

"You have no idea how much...." She sucked in a deep breath "How much I yearn for a mother but you!!! How are you exactly? This is the limit, let me tell you...I can't stay with a man who's selfish, self-centred and hateful"

*Thwack*

A glass cup was thrown harshly to the floor, and pieces of broken glass splattered on the floor.

May covered her ears in fright and ran to the room.

Alex clenched his hands into a fist and threw a punch at the bar counter. This was what he had tried to prevent.

'Hateful, Selfish, Self-centred' She thinks of me as someone who was a disease. That stupid woman. He took another glass cup and angrily threw it to the ground.

Sorry for the late update guys. Got something to do. Another chapter is waiting for you all. I heard from a reader if pairs were changed. How would May and Adrain be if they were really a couple? Who would lose in the fight? I can't imagine that pair at all, it's so terrifying.

I will edit this book later
