City A.
A man looking lean and pale tightened his hold on the paper in his hold. He looked away and out of the window. The morning sun beaming above. He opened the gallery on his phone and his warily moist eyes hardly feasted on the blooming face. His hands moved further to touch the face. It was a woman in a pink feather gown draped with a coat. She was sitting under a tree, her head tilted and a charming smile was dabbed on her face. He swiped the picture to another one with the same woman but this time, she looked a little dull in her swimsuit. The third picture he looked at, was a retreating back leaving him.
A translucent warm drop of water fell from his eyes.
"I searched everywhere for you but you just disappeared....where are you? I realised I am still lost without you here. Even in my dreams, I yearn for you...while I try to focus on the company, I still uncontrollably think of you. Your traces still remain as a permanent scent. One last time...let me touch and love you one last time" He was feeling wistful.
'Where are you, May? That even with my connections you are unable to be found....come back to me please' He covered his pale face. He just had a month and some days left to live and wished to spend those days with her. He wanted to be able to fulfil the promise he had made to himself. He wanted to be selfish. But it was too late for him. His eyes dimmed as a wave of terror enveloped him.

May was listlessly been rigorous in the garden. Since the baby inside her belly costs her freedom, she was bound to be very careful as she watched her steps. She was yet to explore the idyllic garden. As they said, happiness blooms in a garden and the flowers of the rose are like dreams. She looked ahead and her dark eyes locked with the bunch of Chrysanthemums by the corner to her left. She was sitting on a swing inside the gazebo and admiring the sweet-smelling fragrance.
She was surprised to think that man could take very good care of such a huge garden. By her side, she saw an Azalea flower and grazed her hand into caressing it. But the most beautiful of them were the butterfly bush and catmint.
At home, they also had a garden but her father was too overprotective that he wouldn't let her off his sight for a minute. She got up from the swing and dived into the full flowers. Her slender white legs squeezed themselves between the bunch of flowers. She squatted down, her face beaming, and touched the Hellebore.
Nanny Janet had a bright smile on her dainty face as she watched the young woman. This is what she truly needed. She took one last look and left the garden. A while later, a maid came by to announce "Young Mistress, there's someone here to see you"
May paused "I thought your boss forbade anyone from seeing me...did he change his mind now?" She hissed and continued sniffing the sweet smell from the flowers.
The maid lowered her head to the ground "She is someone master allowed"
Annoyed, May nodded her head "Call the person" The maid left.
She plucked out an Azalea and sniffed on it. From the television, she heard that Su worked on perfumes. Maybe that's why he had this massive size for a garden. Not bad!!!!.
"May" A feminine voice called from behind, her voice cracked from an overwhelming sentiment.
May turned her head, her eyes stiffened.
"May...oh God, you are the one" The woman ran to her and engulfed her in a tight hug. May was still frozen on her spot. All of the people, she didn't expect her best friend here. Tears welled in her eyes immediately.
"It's you...h..how did you find me? I...I missed you" She broke down.
"Well, this morning I got a message from an unknown number ordering me to visit this Villa. At first, I was adamant and thought of it as a scam but when I saw your name. I lost it and here I am...why are you here? After I helped you, you disappeared on me....you Imp!!!"
"I am sorry, Rebecca"
The green-eyed woman rolled her eyes "Tell me...why are you here? Weren't you suppose to be with Xavier?"
May blinked her eyes "I...i..." She didn't know what to say. Was she kidnapped? Of course not. She caused this herself and landed inside this deep trouble. Luckily, her bump was little and hadn't shown, otherwise, this friend of hers would give a hearing to her.
Rebecca looked around and seemed satisfied with the place "Tell me something, are you related to Alexander Su? I feel weird you know...I know this is his personal place as I have been here once before....you remember that day I spoke of that dangerous impolite man during my early years of journalism...He is the one...don't tell me you are his maid"
May touched her stomach and whimpered "Mummy, I think I am in trouble"
Rebecca felt bad for her baby thinking she was working as his maid, but it seemed the opposite to her. Why would she be exceptional when the other maids she met all had the same uniform while she was putting on a custom-made dress? She looked serious and austere now "Did you betray Xavier? Or are you still trying to get that son of a bitch back?" her voice was cold.
"I didn't want any of it to happen I swear...Brother Xavier told me to leave him and then I met........" She explained her encounter with the Old Man and to Alex, her marriage with him.
"Baby, you are truly dumb...now that I am here, I will protect you from him...Come let's leave together...if he dares to harm you, I will use my power....forget my power, your father is a wealthy man...he would deal with him" She took her wrist and dragged her out of the garden but May stopped and dropped her head to the ground in shame.
"I...I can't" She muttered. Rebecca shook her head "Are you scared of him? I heard he is blind...what can he do to you.....don't tell me you love him now?"
May bit her lips as she felt diluted "I can't?"
"Did he threaten you, tell me? If that's the case...we will both be ready for court and......"
"I AM PREGNANT"
"Uh? Pardon? Come again"
May locked her wet eyes to her prim ones "I am pregnant with his child...i..can't leave"
Rebecca firstly thought she heard wrong and asked again but when the woman said the same words, her mouth parted in shock "Are you crazy? How could you be so...stupid? You just dug a grave for yourself. Do you know the rules in this Su family? You birth an heir, and you die with them. May....how could you let him touch you....you should have protested"
May covered her face and mumbled "He...he didn't give me a chance to fight"
Rebecca ran her hand through her front hair and sighed "And pills? Didn't you take one after the deed?"
May looked at her and shook her head.
"Baby, i..." Her green eyes dulled the minute she heard May's heartbreaking tears "I am sorry...I am sorry I wasn't there...I failed as your best friend...I thought you ditched me whereas you.....May, you can abort that child, right?" She whispered, mindful of her surroundings. Walls could have ears.
"I tried to once but he caught me...I am stressed...mummy, I want to leave this place and return to brother Xavier again. I miss him" May sighed.
"Right now, I am more concerned about your modelling career...what will happen now? I got to notice a month ago from the agency for your return. They seem to have given up on you and signed a contract with that sister of yours" Rebecca's eyes were hostile.
"Amy?" May yelled "How could they?" her eyes were red.
"Will you give birth to his child? That man is a devil in disguise and he is in that other world....your life is at risk here. Maybe I should report this to your father, he would help you"
"No!! Don't tell dad...he would be disappointed in me and besides, I promised to come back as a strong woman and now I am not close to being that"
"You will keep living with a murderer...you are carrying a killer's child, you know that" Rebecca grumbled. The previous night, she was vexed with this friend of hers because of her, she had to encounter that Orlando Bloom and now she was being nonsensical.
May breathe out "I...I think he is not bad as you think"
"Not bad!! He...my ex died because of him and now you are siding with him...what? He seems satisfying every time he takes you to bed. " Her tone was harsh "Or because you just love fucking him?"
"Rebecca, that's not true" She moaned out.
"Then tell me the truth...forget it, I was better without you" She aggressively left the garden in anger. May stood there with disbelief.
I am doing this for my freedom....how should I tell you? There are even cameras everywhere...he knows what is going on.
She smiled bitterly and for the first time, stroked her belly lovingly.
"First brother Xavier, now she left as well"
