Chapter 2

Angel's eyebrow raised in question as he observed Vaggie's murderous intent as she sliced a strawberry and placed it on top of a cupcake.

"…how long has she been like that?" He turned to Charlie, pointing his thumb towards the moth.

Vaggie continued to assemble cupcakes with precision, placing the finished cakes on a plate filled with many others… very aggressively.

Charlie shrugged, unsure of how to answer Angel's question. She looked over at Vaggie, who seemed to be lost in rage as she prepared the cupcakes. Charlie could feel the tension radiating off of Vaggie and knew that something was wrong.

"Hey, Vaggie," Charlie said softly, approaching the moth. "Is everything alright?"

Vaggie glares up at Charlie, her eyes burning with exhaustion and rage after a restless night haunted by a certain demon.

"Yeah." she seethes through gritted teeth, her voice dripping with venom. She viciously stabs at a strawberry, its crimson juices spraying across her face as she imagines the demon's face on it. Every jab of her knife feels like a blow against her tormentor.

Angel reached for a frosted cupcake glistening under the soft lighting. He took a bite and his eyes widened in surprise; the fluffy cake was moist and rich, with a burst of sweetness from the creamy frosting that went along well with the strawberry. He savored each bite, letting the flavors dance on his tongue like a symphony of confectionery delight.

"Wow, doll! You are one hell of a cook! Mind if I take a couple for myself and Nugget~? Angel asked as he took as many as his four hands could hold.

"Be my guest. I made more than I needed to anyway." Vaggie said nonchalantly as she continued to violently prepare cupcakes.

With a bright smile, Angle hurried out of the room with four cupcakes in hand and called out to his pet pig.

"Oh Nuggets~! Daddy has a treat for you!"

The two women could hear Angel's voice ringing out from outside, his love for his pet evident in every word. His voice was filled with warmth and tenderness as he called out to his beloved companion.

The princess and the moth couldn't help but smile at how affectionate the spider was to his pet. Charlie, seeing the delight on Angel's face after taking a bite, suddenly craved a sweet cupcake as well.

Her mouth watered as she reached for one of the delicate cupcakes, she took a small bite, savoring the sweetness as it melted on her tongue. A satisfied moan escaped her lips, causing Vaggie to tear her attention away from her burning rage, and look at her girlfriend.

"These are really good Vaggie! Better than even Dad's personal chefs!" Charlie sincerely complimented her with frosting on her lips.

Vaggie's tense posture relaxed for a moment as she looked at Charlie. She let out a small smile, feeling a sense of pride at Charlie's praise. Her hands stopped their violent motions as she finally took a moment to breathe.

"Thanks, Charlie," Vaggie said softly, her eyes softening as she looked at her girlfriend and wiped the frosting off with her finger. "I'm glad you like them."

Charlie reached over and gently placed a hand on Vaggie's shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze as she stared into her eyes. "Is everything okay, Vaggie? You've been tense all morning."

Vaggie looked down at the red strawberries, her eyes lowering to avoid Charlie's gaze, her emotions running rampant due to the lack of sleep and yesterday's events. She remained silent, unable to speak her thoughts to Charlie.

Lucifer's daughter's expression softened, sensing the turmoil within Vaggie. She knew that something was bothering her girlfriend, and she wanted to help in any way possible. Placing the half-eaten cupcake on the plate, Charlie stood up and took Vaggie's hand, pulling her gently towards the couch.

"Come on, let's sit down and talk," Charlie said softly, leading Vaggie to the comfortable cushions. "You can tell me what's been bothering you, Vaggie. I'm here for you."

Vaggie let out a sigh as she sat down on the sofa, feeling the weight of exhaustion and emotion bear down on her. She looked up at Charlie, who was looking at her with eyes filled with concern and love. Vaggie couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in Charlie's presence.

"I-It's-" Vaggie's words get caught in her throat as she tries to speak, her voice wavering with hesitation. Charlie pulled her into a hug, a look of concern etched into her face.

"...It's about Alastor, isn't it?"

The moth silently nodded her head, clenching her hands into a fist at the mere thought of the demon.

"Yeah, it's about him," Vaggie said quietly, her voice barely a whisper.

With a delicate touch, Charlie reached up and brushed away a stray strand of hair from Vaggie's face. Her fingers traced the curve of Vaggie's cheekbone, offering a comforting caress. The gentle warmth of Charlie's hand seemed to soothe away all worries and fears, creating a moment of peace.

"It's alright, Vaggie. You can tell me whenever you're ready," Charlie spoke softly, her voice gentle and full of understanding. "I'm here to listen."

"...Thank you."

Alastor strode down the smoldering streets of hell, a macabre symphony of torment and suffering echoing in his wake. The air crackled with an eerie energy as demons scurried and cowered, their very existence overshadowed by his formidable presence.

Normally, Alastor revels in the chaos that surrounds him, basking in the fear and submission his mere presence instilled. But today was different. His crimson eyes, usually ablaze with mischief and sadistic delight, were clouded with a rare vulnerability. His sharp, toothy grin was replaced with a furrowed brow, and his usually animated gestures were subdued, as if the weight of the netherworld itself bore down upon him.

As ethereal flames flickered and danced around him, Alastor appeared to walk aimlessly, oblivious to the cacophony of anguished screams and the fiery tapestry of souls in perpetual agony. The usual air of self-assured confidence that surrounded him like a shroud had been momentarily stripped away.

The damned souls that crossed his path trembled and scurried away, sensing the unusual disturbance in the overlord. Yet, Alastor paid them no mind, his mind consumed by a whirlwind of emotions.

The streets, once a playground for his sadistic whims, now stretched out before him like a desolate wasteland. The anguished cries that once brought him delight now fell on deaf ears, overshadowed by the deafening silence of his introspection.

Lost in his labyrinthine thoughts, Alastor wandered, his footsteps echoing through the eerie stillness of the underworld. The chaos and pandemonium that usually defined his existence had become nothing more than a distant backdrop, fading into insignificance as he grappled with the unfamiliar sensation of uncertainty.

Alastor, the charismatic and enigmatic embodiment of malevolence, remained trapped in the clutches of his contemplation.

As the radio demon continued his aimless journey through the desolate streets of hell, his mind still consumed by a whirlwind of emotions, he suddenly felt a jolt as another body collided with his. He quickly regained his composure, his crimson eyes narrowing with irritation as he turned to face the source of the collision.

As he observed the figure before him, he noted that it was a female demon with her feminine figure wearing tattered clothes reeking of fresh blood and the essence of the living world. Her fleshed-out pink skin accentuated the prominence of her protruding horns, adorning her head. But what caught his focus was her eyes, a sickly shade of yellow, which locked onto him with an intense gaze.

The female demon, unlike the others who trembled and scurried away in Alastor's presence, held her ground.

There was a defiant spark in her eyes and no sign of her knowing who exactly it was that stood before her. It was a rare sight that piqued his amusement, momentarily diverting his attention from the depths of his thoughts.

Alastor's furrowed brow softened ever so slightly, a flicker of interest dancing across his features.

The female demon, unyielding in her stance, finally broke the silence. Her voice, laced with a not-so-subtle hint of aggression, cut through the stillness.

"What are you looking at!"

A hint of a smirk tugged at the corners of Alastor's lips, a display of amusement gracing his features.

"Why! You, my dear~," he replied, his voice carrying a mix of curiosity and intrigue. "You look as though you're new around here in hell!

The female demon arched an eyebrow, surprised by the sound of his voice. She took a step closer, stretching herself up and bringing her face up to his, the scent of blood and sulfur swirling around her. "And what if I am? What's it to you?"

Alastor chuckled softly, his amusement growing, much to the demoness's irritation. "Oh, nothing much, darling. Just curious about newcomers, I rarely get the chance to meet one in person before other demons get to them first. It's also not often I encounter someone who doesn't tremble in my mere presence."

The female demon's eyes narrowed as she sized up Alastor, suspicion in her gaze. She wasn't one to back down easily, especially not to people like him.

"Well, consider me an exception then," she retorted, her every word filled with sarcasm. "I don't get scared so easily, especially not from a strawberry-looking demon like you."

Alastor's grin widened at her insult, his amusement growing at her boldness. He found her spirit a refreshing change from the usual trembling sinners he usually encounters.

"Oh, I do love a demon with a fiery spirit! But where are my manners? The names Alastor!" he replied, his voice dripping with playful charm.  "Tell me, what brings you to the depths of hell, my dear? Surely there must be an interesting story behind those blood stains."

The female demon hesitated for a moment, her guard momentarily faltering. The weight of her own story seemed to press upon her, evident in the flicker of guilt and rage that crossed her features. But she quickly regained her composure, determined not to reveal anything to this enigma before her.

"That's none of your business," she shot back, growling as she did so. "I have my reasons for being here, just like everyone else in this damn place."

Alastor's eyes twinkled with amusement, his interest in the demoness only growing. He was accustomed to having a sway over those around him, but she seemed to be a delightful challenge.

"Ah, a mystery," The demon mused, his smile becoming a touch wider. "I do enjoy a good challenge, my dear."

The female demon rolled her eyes, unimpressed by Alastor's charm. "Save it, devil boy," she replied, her tone flat and dismissive. "I don't have time for games."

Alastor chuckled, the sound low and sultry. "Then it's a good thing I'm not here to play games~!" he countered, his eyes glinting with mischief.  "Especially when one such as yourself presents such entertainment."

The female demon bristled at his words, her patience wearing thin. "I'm not here for your entertainment or anyone else's," she spat, her voice cold and biting. She began walking, determined to ignore the demon and continue with her already horrible day. "Now why don't you fuck off and let me be."

Alastor, seeing her reaching her breaking point, stepped aside and let her go through. The overlord even went as far as to make a grand jester of it by bowing and gesturing her away. The demoness gritted her teeth but chose to move past it.

The deer demon watched her go with a smile that would make most sinners who knew him turn into a trembling mess filled with fear. He was having far too much fun to simply let her be. With a twirl of his radio staff and a snap of his finger, his whole being sank into the shadows.

She would at the very least distract him from his thoughts.
