CHAPTER 2

9:30am, physics period.

I can't understand what wrong did I do to these old people to punish me with their weird experiments. Somewhere In between I started thinking about what Alex had said..... Julian...

The guy was like a brother to me, how could she say that.

" you're thinking about it" Alex whispered next to me 

"what?"

"about Julian being too nice to you"

That's when Jacob spoke I almost jumped out of my seat thinking he might have heard what we were talking. If that happened I would die of embarrassment 

"what are you planning to do after school"

"we could go eat something then go to a karaoke"

"were going to sing our heart out" Eleanor whispered.

"whats that? " I asked. 

"that's Benjamin's job" Alex said

"your all singing too" Ben said.

"singing is all good but what about some video games?"

"of course Jacob we will play video games" I said.

" and go to a movie?" Eleanor asked. 

"uuuuuuuhkay!" Alex said. 

"CHARLIE FERNANDO AND ELEANOR WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP QUITE! YOUR DISTURBING THE CLASS" our physics teacher Nikita shouted at us.

I saw Layla smirking."you..." I muttered. But Nikita mam did not like me muttering angrily. 

"that's it, you lot, get out of the class now" she shouted. And by 'you lot' she meant me myself, Alex and Eleanor. Layla smirked even more and turned to face the teacher. 

So... The seating was in such a way that I sat in the last row(aka fourth bench)on my right Alex and Jacob on left, Eleanor in the front and Benjamin on her right. Layla sat on the second row. I had to do something as a tiny revenge. 

I stood and looked at Benjamin, apparently he understood what I wanted to do. I walked towards the front Benjamin kept his leg there for me to stumble, Layla was sitting in front of Benjamin so when I stumbled I pushed Layla's head which banged into the table. Everyone laughed at her, even her friends had a hard time holding back a laugh. If it was pre-planned I would have recorded it for sure. And blackmailed her of posting it in Instagram.

" oh! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, oh my God. It must have hurt a lot" I fake sympathized her. 

"you.... You intentionally did that" Layla screamed. 

"Layla stop screaming and Charlie get out" Nikita mam looked like if I stood there a minute more she would explode in my face. So as you expect me to do I went out of the class with Eleanor and Alex, Nikita mam escorted us outside. When we stood outside in a line she said "hands up"(like standing outside isn't bad enough). We raised our hands and Nikita mam went inside. 

"wasn't that rude?" Alex asked me. 

"what was?" I asked.

"banging Layla's face on the table"

"she deserved it" Eleanor supported me. 

"ugh come-on even psychology says that it's nothing wrong to give a bully a bit of his or her own medicine" I said

"nice dialogue" Alex commented. 

"it's from a movie" I said 

"what was I expecting" Eleanor said

"it is a good one, the dialogue. I wanted to use it for a long time".

Layla came out of the class and went left. 

"where is she going?" Eleanor asked. 

"nurse's office maybe, her head got banged. She was half mental maybe she's a complete mental now" I guessed. 

Layla heard that she came back and told me "you're gonna pay for this"

"ooooh scary" Alex mocked her. 

We laughed at her.

" let's see who'll be laughing later, let me give you a hint it wont be you" Layla showed off and strolled away. 

"she's got a gigantic red mark in her forehead" Eleanor commented.

"so how was your makeup class?" Alex asked her.

"seriously, the kid didn't even know what a concealer was" 

"be happy you have a lot to teach" I said. Then and I started laughing we gave a high-five thats when Nikita mam thought of giving us a visit. "standing outside is supposed to be a punishment not an opportunity to talk as much as you want"

"sorry mam" the three of us said in harmony.

"my period is over you can get in"

"thank you mam"

Once she was out of earshot I asked

"who takes class on the last day of school?"

"teachers like her who uses the excuse of giving us hints but is determined to take topics which is out of syllabus" Alex said. 

We went inside and sat on our seats.

"how much is our budget? I mean we're five, we'll need some cash for all those enjoyments." Jacob asked.

I turned at Alex and she smiled at me.

"I put in 120 bucks" Alex started

"I put 160" I said, then went the rest

"wow that's fairly enough for two days" I said. 

"580 bucks! Good"

Then John came in, our English teacher. He's a very friendly teacher.

"good morning"

"good morning sir"

"since its your last day and since I have work to do. So you'll be free."

And so he left. Other teachers ought to learn from him. So the rest of the day at school went really well plus some glares from Layla.

We watched a movie together. Then went to a game arcade. But what seemed weird was I felt like someone was following me or us. But still that's creepy. Then we went to KTV. We were all singing and having a great time together.

"so.. Which highschool?" I asked 

"somewhere we're together" Eleanor said as if it's too obvious which actually was.

"have a great examination people" Benjamin said. 

Then we continued to sing. Suddenly light started flickering, fire trased it's way through the ceiling we started running but before I could get out a big piece of burning brick fell on my hand a searing pain spread through my hand, Benjamin ran back to me and he helped me remove the brick. We together then ran towards the exit once we were out of the building Alex and Eleanor came and hugged me. I didn't cry until the moment they hugged me but couldn't hold it back anymore I cried. I hate to say it but when the brick fell on my hand I was scared, it was always my deepest fear of losing my friends. Seeing them run away leaving me here to die really scared me even more than death. Then we went and treated my hand. Mom and Dad came and picked us up mom cried a lot after seeing my hand. Dad scolded me for being so careless, but hey what careless thing did I do. The only person that wasn't there was August, I kinda felt bad in his absence. OMG I can't believe I said that. Don't tell him I said that. 

After reaching home after dropping everyone home. Mom made me some soup soon after I finished drinking it mom insisted I should get some sleep. She even escorted me to my bedroom... 

When I was lying there unable to sleep I thought about only one thing. Funny thing was it wasn't about the fire, I was thinking about what mom and dad were talking about in the morning and if it had anything to do with the fire. As I lay there soundless and motionless I heard something move towards my right from near the door. I slowly got up from bed took my flashlight, now you'd think I'll be dump risk taker if I'd walk towards the sound but guess what, I did walk towards the sound. I slowly walked and asked "who's there?" now people that's was dump of me, I could easily turn on the light and see who was that but when something like this happens you go into a complete dump mode. I turned on my flashlight and I saw a guy standing there with a knife he walked towards me. And I did what everyone was good at.... I screamed.
