The mood around the group slowly came back down to earth as that one statement reminded everyone of those they've lost along the way. Some were still showered by the blood and guts of the fallen, and some of them fell to their knees as they cried out at the loss of their friends and companions. Some probably lost loved ones. Maybe siblings or lovers, and they would never be able to see them again...
"It's worth it, right?" an adventurer sobbed to himself. "We saved the town..."
"Right... We saved everyone..." another cried to herself even as she laughed. "But it still hurts..."
"This is just part and parcel of being an adventurer, I guess," another sighed. "We all went out here knowing that all of us might die. This is just the truth of it all."
