After the passing of Mei, Qiu have been living in a cave within the woods on the hill.

Surviving till the next day with any kind of herbs and berries he thinks is edible.

It has been a week after Mei's passing and almost a month since the start of the battle, and from the looks of it, it is not ending anytime soon.

Qiu have to try to adapt to the current environment, and the most important thing is to be able to hunt.

Right now, his clothes are too big for him, having accidentally eaten a poisonous mushroom before, he has been having diarrhea for days and is now surviving of herbs and berries being unable to touch mushrooms anymore. And with no meat daily, Qiu is pretty much a stickman.

Despite, being optimistic when he started, he soon found out that hunting was not as simple as he had thought. He couldn't keep up with the speed of the wild animals. He was too weak.

Being unable to catch any food, Qiu went back to his living quarters discouraged. Right now he needs to focus, on how to hunt being this weak and skinny.

He does not have a supply of meat and proteins, so trying to built up his physical abilities not feasible, hence the best choice for him is to set up traps.

After having eaten the few berries he had picked on his way back to the cave, Qiu went out to gather some twigs and leaves to start making traps for hunting.

In the night, Qiu went deep into the woods to the place where he has seen the most animals appear at to set up some traps in hopes of a catch the next morning.

For fowl meat, he made a upside down cone shaped trap out of twigs and fiber, when a bird enters through the trap from the top with a wider opening, the bird will be trapped at the bottom and unable to spread its wings, due to the narrow bottom of the trap. He placed some berries at the larger opening of the trap.

And for smaller animals like fawn and rabbits, a basic food trap will do for now. Qiu dug up a hole and laid a layer of twigs and leaves leaving berries on top for lure the animals and fall in the pit..

Early next morning when the sun has fully arose, Qiu made his way out deep into the forest to check on the results of his overnight catch.

To his surprise he was able to catch a small rabbit with his pit hole trap. While the bird trap was empty.

With a rabbit in his hand, Qiu headed back to the cave to have his first taste of meat in weeks.

The procedure to cooking a succulent rabbit, is first shave off all of the hair.

Second, you would have to remove it's innards.

Third, thoroughly wash the in and outs of the rabbit in water.

Fourth, stuff and layer the rabbit with any forms of herbs and spices he could find.

Lastly, skewer the rabbit and lastly cook it over fire until golden brown.

And this is how to make a succulent rabbit in the wild.

Having eaten his first piece of meat in weeks, the first bite felt heavenly, like he is swimming in meat juices, it's been a while since he had endulged in the taste of meat, Qiu quickly ravaged the rabbit meat and soon there was nothing left but bones.

This was what he had needed for weeks, after having eaten meat, he could now focus on training to become stronger to survive the woods, before the battle for the Qinghai City ends.

He did the basic training routine of the Ivory Tiger Army in the morning, laps in the woods, a hundred sit-ups, push ups and squads each in the afternoon and at night under the moon, he would be training the martial arts thought to him by Wu.

Qiu's daily routine stayed the same for the next couple of weeks, with some days having no catch in his traps, but on many days he was lucky to have caught something. His main character luck was kicking in.
