'It has been 5 days since we started conquering the tribes. Apparently, we have built quite a reputation around this area. There are rumours about us, the tribe who is conquering tribes after tribes, and me, the mad man who is leading them. With Machi and Pakunoda's help, we have conquered tribe after tribe. Now, we have amassed around 10,000 tribesmen and tribeswomen. This in only 5 days. However, I know that, from now on, these numbers will keep decreasing more and more, after all, the surrounding tribes have all been subjugated. The only ones left are the ones that are far away, and since we have to march all the way there, it takes hours, if not days, to traverse large distances with an army. The only option right now is defeating the Xirong tribe who has a base on top of the mountain.
I have already scouted the area, and found out that they have around the same number of troops as me. The difference is that their soldiers are actually strong. They are way stronger than mine. out of the 10,000 tribes members I have, 3,000 are men. I wanted to use all of them as soldiers, however, Shiro stopped me, since I also need to feed them, so around half of them were given to her so that she could start the contruction of a city.
Instead of a camp, like the normal tribes, we moved to a plain part of the mountain because we planned on constructing a city near a river. With a river in front, and the mountain behind, the city will become an impregnable fortress. Well, this is all plans we have. The immigration is still on going. I also need capable builders that are able of build actual houses, instead of shacks. The tribes are normally Nomads, so they never bother to actually contruct anything decent. They just build a couple of tents and shacks made of animal skin and sticks, and that is it.
Now that we have to settle down, we will face hardships. There is also the problem with food... so many problems, so little time.' I massaged my temples. 'Right now, I should focus on the current objective. Conquering the Xirong tribe.' I thought before I turned to Machi. "Machi, is everything ready?"
She nodded in response. "The 1,500 men are all enthusiastic about the battle."
"They think that it will be another easy battle." Pakunoda commented.
"For them as long as I am in charge of an army, the battles will always be easy. So it is normal for them to think that this is going to be free riches for the picking." I shrugged.
"However, this opponent will not be an easy one." Machi said.
I nodded. "Of course, after all, they are basically the rulers of this mountain."
"Nii, do you have a plan?" Shiro asked.
"I will focus most of my troops on the center while I will try to break through their center and claim the head of their leader." I said.
Shiro looked at me and blinked for a few times. "Normally such a plan would be reckless and stupid, however, since it is you Nii, that we are talking about, then I know that you can do it."
She made me smile. "It is good to know that my little sister has such trust in me." I told her while I caressed her head.
"For how much longer do I need to babysit her?" Shizuku asked me in a whisper.
"Huff. You need to hang in there for a little longer." I was rather suprised after I saw such emotion in her eyes. "In our next campaign, you can go with me."
"I will content myself with that." She said while nodding.
After that, I left the provisional tent that we have set up in our new headquarters, and looked at my army. Then, I turned to Machi and Pakunoda. "I will entrust you the right army. And Pakunoda, I will entrust you the left one. Each one has 400 men.
"Understood." Both said.
Afterwards, I looked at my aid and nodded. This was a signal, after he saw me nodding, he lifted a blue "flag", it was a blue cloth strapped on a long stick, meaning it is time to march. After seeing the flag, the entire army began to march.
'If only I had horses, then my army would be able to travel longer distances in less time.'
3 hours later.
'It took us 3 hours to reach the top of the mountain. And as soon as we arrived, the Xirong tribe was already waiting for us at the top.' I looked at them. " 2000 men at least." When I looked at my troops, I saw that they were all eager to fight.
Then, I turned to my troops. "When I found you, you were prisoners of your own fear. You lived in fear. Afraid of being invaded by the tribes near you and turned into slaves. Now look at you, you are masters of your own fate. It doesn't matter which opponent you face, you never lose. Why? Because you are mightier. Now show these barbarians, YOUR MIGHT. GIVE THEM BLOOD AND STEAL!!! CHARGEE!!!" As soon as I finished giving them my speech, like a horde of enraged bulls, they went up the mountain.
Cutting through the enemy lines as if it was butter. The enemies are stronger, however, my soldiers have better morale. They know that I am leading them and that as long as I am the one taking command, they won't lose.
'My job is so easy. I just have to inspire them and voilá, they basically turn into mad men.' I looked and saw that Machi was leading the right army, and she was it doing rather well.
She is in the front line, killing anything she sees, and, as for Pakunoda's army, they were on a stalemate.
I placed my hand on my chin. 'I might join the fighting soon.' Currently, I am on the skies, looking at how my army was performing.
And they are perfoming better than the expected. They are pushing their opponents, even though they are outnumbered.
Suddenly, I saw the enemy tribe' leader taking of his cloak, just to reveal an average sized, extremely beautiful, young woman with light-red hair and blue eyes. She had tattoos on her face, one on her forehead, looking like a dot in a parenthesis, and two dots underneath each eye.
'Damn... she is hot.... damnit! Focus!' I shaked my head, after a few seconds, it finally turned back to normal.
"DO NOT RETREAT!!! PUSH THE INVADERS OUT OF OUR LANDS!!!" All of a sudden, the beautiful woman screamed.
On her hands, she had two swords that she used to slice the soldiers that stood in her way. A beautiful sight.
(I don't think this is the time to admire her. Soon enough, she will crush your soldiers. Besides, she isn't that beautiful. I'm starting to hate my prison more and more.) I heard Nyar's jealous voice.
"Fufufufufu." I shaked my head. 'You are right. If she keeps doing what she wishes, then my army will be crushed.' I scratched my cheek before I simply dropped from the sky.
*Booommm*.
I landed in the middle of the battlefield, taking care of a few that were in the way. The battle stopped for a moment before it resumed. Then, I turned to the female leader.
"The leader is here!!!" One of my men screamed as he hacked his enemy.
Suddenly, their already high morale, increased even more as cheers sounded through the battlefield. They were cheering as if they had already won the battle.
"Fufufufu. You are a quite beautiful sight, however, I cannot allow you to continue killing my soldiers." I told her.
"Ahhhh!!!" All of a sudden, one of her soldiers ran towards me.
"Your head is mine!" The barbarian screamed me.
But his head was cut off before he could land a hit on me.
"Fufufufufu. Know your place." I shaked my head before I turned to my opponent and made an ice sword. "Let's dance, shall we?"
The woman dashed at me and tried to cut my head off, using her swords from each side. But I simply bent my body and dodged the blades with an hair of distance. After that, I countered her attack with a swipe from below.
She tried to block my strike, but because her strenght was nowhere near enough, as soon as she tried, she got blown away.
"I commend you. You are truly something special for managing to survived that hit." I nodded to myself.
She got up and looked at me like a fierce tigress. "It isn't over yet!"
"Hmm. Delaying your defeat is simply boring." I told her before I wrapped her body in strings and trapped her inside a cocoon.
"You are interesting, so I won't kill you." I told her before I yelled. "YOUR LEADER HAS BEEN CAPTURED, LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS OR SHE DIES!!!"
And sure enough, most of them instantly dropped their weapons without even making sure if I am speaking the truth. Some tried to resist but the rest of my troops quickly dealt with them.
"Group the prisioners and take all the loot." I told my troops.
When I arrived on their camp, I saw a few constructions made of stone, this made me smile. "This camp has everything I need. From blacksmiths to builders, and now everything has fallen in my hands."
Since there was at least 20,000 people in here, it would take a while to group everything in the center of their camp. And sure enough, it took the soldiers 5 hours to group 18,000 tribes members. The rest of the tribesmen had ran away. Out of their original 2000, 500 were killed or ran away from battle. While I lost 350 man from my 1500.
Now, in front of me was the tribe leader. "You know what happens when you lose on this mountain, don't you?" I asked as I looked at her.
"You will kill me. Get this over with. The only thing I ask for, is that you take care of the rest of my tribe." She said.
'This woman is rather inocent, isn't she? I could do many things to her instead of killing...' I shaked my head. "Fufufufu. You keep getting more and more interesting." Approaching her, I lifted her chin. "What is your name?"
For a brief moment, she seemed surprised before she returned to her cold face. "You want to know my name before you kill me? I'm happy to know that you will remember me. You better remember it well, the name is Yo Tan Wa."
"Yo Tan Wa... do you want to be my general?" I asked.
After hearing what I said, she opened her eyes wide. "Are you joking with me? Just kill me."
"No. I only kill when I want. No one can tell him what to do. I will lead your tribe to a better future." I told her.
"What do you mean with, a better future?" She asked.
"Its obvious, I will conquer the surface world, as you like to call it." I released her chin.
"You are mad." She said.
"Perhaps. Up until today I still ask the same question. But this conversation isn't about my sanity... or the lack of it. It is about you. Are you going to join me or are you going to live in this little corner of the world?" I questioned her.
"Very well. I want to see just how far you will take our tribe..." She placed her head before on the ground. "I, Yo Tan Wa, offer my services to my King."
"Good. But I'm no King." I told her before I turned to my soldiers. "Release them all!" And ordered.
"But my Lord, they can still rebel!" One of my aids said.
"Fufufufu. There is nothing to worry about, I will deal with all of them if they do. After all, I don't give second chances." I told them before I left to my tent.
"Do you think that it was wise to release them?" Machi asked.
"If they resist, then we will massacre them. Besides, their weapons are confiscated, if they rebel, they will have to fight with sticks or, at the very least, stone weapons." I told her.
"And they will still lose men if they revolt." Pakunoda added
"Fufufufu. It was quite greedy of me in taking such a big bite. But it was worth it. Now, I need to make sure that I can assimilate all of them."
"My King, may I enter. I would like to discuss future moves." I heard a female voice.
"Come in."
After my permission, Yo Tan Wa entered and got in front of us. "My King, what do you plan on doing next?"
"Hmm. I plan on uniting the mountain tribes under my banner." I told her.
"Sorry to tell you this, my King, but it is impossible. It has never been accomplished before."
"Fufufufu. As long as I am the one in charge. Nothing is impossible. I need all the information you have about the terrain around us."
"It is a crazy objective." She whispered. "If you want to conquer the surface world, then you will need the tribes around you." I nodded. "There are currently 9 mountains around us. Each mountain has a tribe that governs the entire mountain. The one that ruled this mountain was me and the Xirong tribe."
"Now, I am the one who rules it. I want to know as much information of the other mountains as possible." I said.
"The mountain close by is governed by a fat bastard who has around 1,000 soldiers." She said.
"If he only has 1,000 soldiers, then why haven't you taken their mountain yet?" Machi inquired.
"We could, if they did not have horses and men who could ride them." She said.
"So, they have a cavalry battalion. This can prove to be quite problematic. But it also means that I can acquire horses. Continue." I said.
"On the left mountain, the one who rules is called Mobu. He entitled himself as the strongest man on earth. His soldiers are also incredibly strong. On the right mountain, there is Kyoukai, a lethal assassin who rules a tribe of assassins that dance on the battlefield. Their dances are deadly. And behind the mountain that the fat bastard holds, there is a tribe that is ruled by a woman named Karin, however, I don't have much information about her." She explained.
"With you, that is 5 mountain lords. There are still 4 left." I said.
"I have no information on the other 4, since they rarely do anything." Yo Tan Wa shaked her head.
"Hmm. There is something that still intrigues me. You called yourself the ruler of this mountain, but there were a lot of small tribes that were not under your banner." Pakunoda said.
"They were too regressed for my tribe, so we just took all of their resources and let them fight between each other. I never expected that someone would be able to unite them and end my rule. The other rulers are probably doing the same." Yo Tan Wa said.
"How should we proceed?" Machi asked.
"Fufufufu. Isn't it obvious? We crush them all."
