Explanation

"That don't usually happens so instantaneously. Usually it take a few minutes for the assimilation" the dragon pixie muses curiously.

"Assimilation?" Tedior asks.

"Correct. You see, insect cores are little bubbles of soul energy. Whilst every other living creatures use pure cores form to get stronger, it can be used as the base ingredient for alchemy. I will expand on that at another time. It usually takes time to absorbs and converts it to similar wavelengths." It explains scholarly.

"Oh, I see." He does not see.

"By the time it is fully converted and absorbed, the amount of soul energy is so minuscule that it takes thousands and thousands of insect cores to take effect. That is why the All-in Brawling Tournament is so popular." It explains a bit more before giving Tedior more questions instead. Tilting his head in puzzlement, he gives it an enquiring look.

"Its a popular once every twiflower bloom event. Where the rule of nature applies but amplified by the Moon Glow's effect. The survivors will collect their rightful cores, and those cores, under the lunar effect will give twice the amount of soul energy."

"... What?"

"Oh! My apologies, I forgot that you are completely new to this. It will take a whole chapter to explain and I have a few more items to show you. Henceforth, I will elaborate on those items first before moving on to another topic."

"Ooookay."

"Here, this is a low grade spirit core." It says as it shows Tedior a faintly glowing purple orb. "As the name suggested, it belongs to defeated spirits or as man like to call us as, summons." It elaborates grimly before abruptly moving onto a different item.

"And this, is a nectar, favourite food of many and the most preferable trade item. Here, try some." It hands him a leaf packaged parcel. He looks at it in astonished questioning look. "I am a dragon pixie, nectars are easy to come by for us."

"I... thank you." He says, touched from its generosity and puzzled from this warm feeling fluttering in him. Is he coming down with something? Well, he should sleep some more later.

With as much care as he mentally can, he retrieves the freely given item from the outstretched paw. Carefully unwraps the package, revealing a single drop of golden syrup.

He gives it a questioning sniff, identifying it with some sort of honey sweetness and citrus aroma. Eagerly, he wipes his leg at the nearby wall before dipping the leg into it.

It has a syrupy consistency, much like one of honey texture. He shoves his oozing, nectar-coated leg into his mouth and nearly faints from the explosions of intense flavor in his mouth.

It does not taste like anything he had ever eaten. The best he can describes it is its concentrated yet extremely pleasant, soothing fruity taste. There is no tanginess to it where usual fruit extracts will unfortunately bring. The lingering sweetness brings a sort of blissful warmth that stays in him.

Tedior looks at the dragon pixie in awe. It smiles gently at him before nodding sagely.

"That is the tastiest thing I've ever had." He informs, in which it nods again in knowing.

"Here, you can have another one." It says as it takes another wrapped package out and graciously hands it to him. Tedior could only looks at the offered kindness in confusion.

"I... why are you so kind to me?" He asks, an unknown feeling brewing within. The dragon pixie tilts its head in confusion.

"What do you mean?" It asks, unsure of the answer he seeks. This sort of culture is normal for it. A kindness for kindness, or an eye for an eye. He has shown it kindness by patiently listening to it rambles on and on like a mad creature on dragon-nip. So it will return the favor by getting him ready for this foreign world.

Oh, how terrifying it must have been for him when he first reach here, in a different world and as a species fundamentally so different from his original. Everything must have been so foreign, daunting. Its bleeding heart gushing out for him.

But no matter, it is here to give a helping hand. A jump start, if you must, a higher chance of survival for him. For this world drastically different from his. And this smaller world is far less forgiving than where man dwells.

"This. Taking your time and explaining everything to me, teaching me about this world. Why? You do not know me. Nor I, you. I could be some really evil caterpillar out to kill all living creatures." He exclaims bitterly, laying out the cards that he holds and the possibilities that may or may not unfold.

"Oh! Yes, I forgot. Here, my name is Gurrhuyre. May I have the pleasure to know yours?" It chirps happily, completely missing his point and question.

'How can a creature trusts so willingly. Is it that naive? What if it meets a scammer instead?' He thoughts, furrowing his brows.

"No-... that's not. Name's Tedior." He resignedly says, still trying to make sense of its thoughts.

"Now we are no longer strangers and are friends." It chirps happily. "And friends will always offer a helping hand when in need."

He stares at it before chuckling, which slowly grows into a full blown laughter. To which Gurrhuyre only tilts its head in confusion before giggling along with his laughter.

"Thank you, Gurrhuyre." He whispers sincerely, after the laughter dies down. Making an oath in his heart, that he will not eat it and if it ever needs any help, it only need to ask.
