Ryan, barely conscious of his motive, took cover behind the guard of a large oak tree, an instinct of survival completely taking control. Yet even behind the tree, he could feel it, the gaze of the beast piercing his body.
It was dark, which meant although still on the outskirts of the forest, Ryan should have been surrounded by numerous F-rank beasts by now, but not a single one could be seen... they were afraid.
They seemed to have been running from something that should not be around these parts of the forest.
