Tiger Fang

Krios excitedly went to to dorm lobby and the attendant gave him his package. He recieved it giddly as he has been waiting for this weapon to arrive for so long.

The spear was covered with a brown cloth and was secured by wires. It looked inconspicuous at first glance. One might even think that it was not an important package due to how it was covered.

'I guess inconspicuous is the name of Master Halvin's brand.' He thought to himself.

"Do you want to come to the training room with me? I want to practice with this spear right now." Krios asked his friend.

"Sure, I'll train with you." Loras answered, and together, they went to the training room.

"Come on unwrap it!" Loras said excitedly.

Krios laughed and started removing the wires. After removing the last piece of wire, the cloth started to unravel, revealing what was inside.

Krios sucked in his breath as it revealed a seven foot jetblack spear with fiery red specks looking like embers on a coal, with a one inch wide thin sheet of golden metal placed like rings spaced two inches apart. The beast's mana core was placed at the joint where the shaft meets the blades tip.

It looke increadibly regal, and deadly. The red accents on the jet black color popped out so much making it look like the shaft had tiny embers burning on it. The blade was also made with the same bone but was extremely sharp and sturdy.

A piece of paper fell of from the pile of cloth and Loras picked it up.

"There's letter that's fallen off. Read it. It might contain something important." Loras said while giving the letter to Krios.

Krios opened the letter and read it's contents out loud.

"First of all, I'd like to apologize for not delivering on my promise. But I needed the extra time as I decided to add a little bit more material to your spear as I wanted it to be of an even better quality." He read the first paragraph.

"I call the spear, Tiger fang as the blade looked like a beast fang. I used the jet black bones of the Infernal Tiger you provided as the main component of the shaft and the tip. I also added some red ores I got from a volcano to it to enhance its heat conductivity. Lastly, I added gold fero metal to the shaft to increase its durabilty." He continued.

"Wow, he sure did add a lot of high quality materials in there. Red ores are increadibly hard to come bu as they come from deep within a volcano." Loras commented.

'He did go above and beyond with this spear.' Krios agreed.

"Now with everything said, I told you before that the spear I would be making would only be useable to you until the late Reconvergence realm, but because of the things I added, it would now be durable enough to be used until the next realm which is the Body Immortalization realm. It was also the reason why it took longer than promised. As I had to take extra time to combine all the materials perfectly. Just to let you know, I don't do things half heartedly." Krios chickled with the last line.

"That's good to hear! Now I won't have to change weapons for a while. It would save me a lot of money, and also time." Krios said.

"I hope that you liked my creation. And I hope it helps you win all the battles you are to encounter ahead of you. - Halvin Mercene."

Krios folded the letter back and placed it beside him.

"It looks beautiful. Thank you Master Halvin." He whispered while touching the shaft of his new spear.

He admired it's craftsmanship so much he can't wait to flex it in battle. He imbued it with his chaos mana and the weapon core buzzed with powet, like an engine turning to life. Then Purple flame engulfed the entirety of the spear.

"Wait." Loras spoke suddenly.

"What?" Krios asked, confused.

"How is your flame purple?!"

'Oh shit, I was so entranced by the beauty of this spear that I completely forgot Loras was here' krios though to himself.

"Wasn't your flames blue? How were you able to change its color? Didn't our professor say that the color the flame you are born with would also be the color you would die with?" Loras remebering the lesson their professor in mana manipulation taught them in their first day of class.

"Ah that. I actually came across a mysterious cultivation technique that allowed me to change the color and nature of my fire." Krios said, hoping Loras would believe his lie.

"Oh, is that why your flame looks more chaotic and erratic than your blue flame?"

"Yeah, but don't worry, I can still use the blue flame I was born with." Krios stopped imbuing his chaos mana and the flame died. He then imbued it again but now with just mana and the spear ignited in blue.

"See? It's still here."

"You don't have to prove anything to me you know. I have my fulm trust in you. I was just confused." Loras laughed.

"Thank you." Krios said sincerely. He felt really blessed having such a good friend like Loras with him.

"You're just full of surprises aren't you."

Krios stood up and started twirling his new spear in the air. It felt heavy on his hands. Probably because it had additional materials. And the fact that it was made for stronger cultivators was also a reason for its weight.

"By the way, I was hoping we can keep my purple flames a secret for now." He looked at Loras.

"Why? It's not like your cheating or anything." Loras answered.

"I know. But I want to keep it as a last resort. Something like a trump card." Krios explained.

"Oh I like that idea. Okay, i'll keep your secret." Loras agreed making Krios relieved.

Krios continued with his training, trying to get used ti his new spear. He used it to fire multiple battle arts and tried on some basic swings here and there.

Days passed and Krios maintained his activites. From attending his classes, training, and looking out for potential spies in their ranks.

Two days before the opening of the Moon realm, Krios had another meeting with Headmistress Zelester and Professor Ashburn.

"Krios, you are the only one who can absorb that malevolent energy. So if it by any chance, a spy goes into the Moon realm woth all of you and started attacking, you are the only one who can save potential targets from losing their lives." Headmistress Zelester said in a serious tone.

"We believe in your strength. You are almost as strong as the Dion who's at the top of the freshmen class." Professor Ashburn added.

He knew he can go toe to toe with Dion who was already on the mid Reconvergence realm. Dion was touted as the best in their batch. He was also the one with the highest cultivation.

"I understand. I'll do my best to keep as many of us as safe us possible." He knew he would not be able to keep everyone safe. He is not a god, nor an omnipotent being.

"You are also free to use your chaos energy as you see fit. But be careful when you use it and be mindful of the people who will witness you use it. Because if that information falls into the wrong hands, it might compromise your safety." The Headmistress added.

"Indeed, we know how greedy people can get when they see new shiny things. I know you can defend yourself against anyone inside the realm, but it will never hurt if you stay careful." Professor Ashburn chimed in.

"We will also be doing our due diligence while waiting for you. We will prepare for contingencies."

"Thank you, for doing whatever you can to help us be safe." Krios answered.

"I think we're done here. We also have to make some preparations for the upcoming opening. So Krios, you're dismissed. Good luck." The headmistress said.

Krios bowed to the to elders and went out of the office. He wanted to go back to the dorm to rest but he can't help but feel sentimental about his stay in the academy. So he decided to go in for a walk to think about things.

'I have come so far. Yet still so far.' He thought while walking.

In less than a year, he went from being a mediocre teen, to one of the trusted first year students in the academy. Thanks to his chaos energy, he averted a life set for mediocrity and instead was able to carve himself a new path. A path full of adversities, trials, dangers, but most importantly, growth.

"I can't believe how much has changed in so little time." He mumbled.

Looking back, he has already resigned himself to the life that he had. Never did he imagine to be where he was at that exact moment. All the way to the other side of the continent, far away from home, learning from the best the continent can offer.
