The rest of the day was okay. She was still quiet but the guys did me good by talking to her more. She was slowly opening up. After school we all walked to my house.
"Hey Mom.... Dad..."
"Hey Craig..." My mom spoke.
"Wait... who's this?" My dad questioned while looking at Jess.
"This is our friend, Jess."
"Oh well you kids don't have too much fun okay?"
"We won't." I said flipping them off.
They flipped me off back.
"Woah... did he just?.."
"Yep." Token sighed out.
"B-but why?" she asked still confused.
"It's a Tucker thing." Clyde said while chuckling.
I hear her chuckle herself.
________
We went upstairs and played video games for awhile. We all talked to her to get on her good side.
She opened up a lot with us... it was really nice.
"Hey Jess... Didn't you say you have to be home soon?"
"Yeah I... should go now..." she said getting up.
"Wait..."
She stopped and looked back.
"Can I walk you home?"
She tensed up.
"A-are you sure?"
"Yeah, it's really late and I don't want you to get into trouble..."
"Oh....okay..."
"Hey guys.... I'll be back, okay?"
"Okay Craig."
"Bye Jess."
She waved them all goodbye.
--------
We were on our way to her place. When we got there she knocked on the door, I suddenly had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. The door opened with a lady who looked rather angry.
"There you are you little shit! I've been looking all over for you." She spat.
She grabbed her wrist harshly. "Get in here."
I cletch my fists while gritting my teeth.
"Hey! Don't you think you're being too hard on her?!" I barked.
She looked at me.
"What was that?" she growled.
"I'd suggest not touching her like that again."
"Is that a threat?"
"No... It's a suggestion."
"Whatever kid." she snapped.
I see Jess looking at me with eyes full of worry.
"I'll see you tomorrow, okay Jess?"
She nodded with dread. That's when the door slammed in my face. I felt so much anger building up.
'Her mom is a total bitch!!'
-------
I walked home and came back to the guys hanging out.
"So how'd it go..."
I sighed.
"Her mom is a real bitch but.... I got her there safe."
"So Craig... what's up with you and this girl? Out of no where you're helping her. Why?"
I look at Clyde.
"It's just.... something feels off like... something bad is going to happen to her.... you know?"
"Wait... you can sense that too?" Token asked.
"Dude... are you kidding? Bruises like that aren't an accident... someone did that... and I know who... I'm going to make sure she's okay...."
"Ca-an we help Craig?"
I look at Tweek.
"I have an idea but.... I... need you guys to be quiet about this okay?"
They all nod.
--------
The next day.
As I promised, I went to her house.
I knocked on the door.
"Jess? You there?" I hollered.
After about a minute of no response I felt slightly uneasy. I looked around to notice something in the snow, footsteps leading to the shed. The door is opened slightly.
I followed the trail. When I open the door I swear my heart sank through my chest.
"Jess?! Holy shit!!!"
I quickly grab my jacket.
"Fuck...Jess..."
'Is she still alive?..'
"What are you doing here? Go, before...." she whispered aggressively.
"Hey Jess, who's this? Your friend from last night?"
I grit my teeth recognizing the voice. "You bitch!!! How could you do that to your daughter!!!" I snapped while turning around.
"She's my kid I can do whatever I want with her. Now... Jess. Get up." She demanded while she grabbed my face pushing me out of the way. She then clawed into Jess harshly forcing her on her feet, dragging her away.
"Now... what do you tell everyone what happened at school?" She whispered up to her ear.
I stood there in shock as Jess replied, "I fell." with no emotion left.
I felt my heart throbbing as I watched in disbelief. Her mom shoved her into the house, slamming the door with them.
'I need someone else's help... someone who is smart... someone who knows shit...I don't know much but.... there's someone out there that could help me with saving her life... and possibly help me entirely....I know exactly who to talk to...'
