Somewhere in the country of—

The day was windy and bright, with the smell of earth after rain. I was wandering along the roads to unwind after a stressful job when I suddenly felt dizzy, perhaps from overexertion after working overtime. It felt like I was becoming one with the air.

"Ahhhh..." I gasped as I fell. My surroundings darkened, and I could hear people discussing me, some concerned, others checking my pulse. But it was too late.

"The chosen entity is entering the Dream Realm" I heard before losing consciousness. When I awoke, I found myself in a mystical world. A beautiful lady stood before me, staring at my face.

"The world has chosen you, my child!" she said.

"W-who are you, and where am I?" I stammered, thinking she might be a cosplayer.

"You have entered the realm of dreams, where the worthy find their new paths to either heaven or hell. I am one of the seven archangels that manage this realm" she explained.

It was bizarre for someone like me, who thought realms and fantasies only existed in novels and mangas.

"However, you are a special case, Jack. I caused your death in your previous world" she continued. Surprisingly, I felt no particular emotion; my previous life lacked meaning.

"S-so what happens to me now?" I asked hesitantly.

"There is a reason I brought you here. You will be the hero of a world I oversee. You had no life on your previous planet, did you?" she said as instruments played in the background, However for some reason I had a mixed reaction when she said I had no life…that hurts not gonna lie.

"I, Goddess Vivian, ask you to be the hero of a planet known as Gracia. I will support you" she declared. I realized this was my last chance to live fully while doing something good.

"I accept, dear goddess" I said without hesitation, feeling good about it.
