39 Stepdaughter?

"Yeah, I can't leave this place. I need someone who is able to get me a guinea pig." Bourne looked at this girl.

"Human, right?"

"....."

Bourne sighed and nodded. Even if he had frozen fourth of the continent, the time of his magic spreading was very short. He wasn't sure whether he had killed someone since he hadn't seen anyone in the past few years. Though, if so, he didn't think too much or rather he didn't want to think about it.

"Yes, if you can get me the criminals or bad people then it is good."

Bourne had become a criminal for freezing fourth of the continent and he might have killed someone, but he still had a refrain to use an innocent people for his research. Even if he felt uncomfortable about the thought of using a human for his research, he thought it should be alright when he used a criminal.

"But there's no way that I'll let Ur's daughter do that."

Ultear snorted and said, "I've been living in a very cruel place. Don't underestimate me!" She had joined a dark guild and she had seen a lot of uglyness of humanity. She also had killed and brainwashed someone. Her hands had been dirtied and she didn't mind dirtying it again since there was no difference if she added few more people. She wanted her mother to return. She knew that Bourne had a way to do that, and of course, she would do anything to help him to achieve that.

"...."

Ultear felt weird when Bouren didn't answer her, but then she saw him cry which made her confused. "....Why did you cry?"

Bourne wiped the tears from his eyes and shook his head. "I'm sorry. I don't know if you've been living in such a place. I should've grabbed you back then." If he didn't miss her back then there was no way that this girl would live in such a cruel place.

"...."

Ultear felt quite strange at this moment since no one had cared about her before. She felt warm and comfortable, but she hadn't gotten used to it which made her slightly uncomfortable at the same time.

"....Well, it's alright. For now, let's just focus on saving Ur."

Bourne wanted to say something, but he decided to keep it first. He wasn't sure what kind of life this girl had been through, but at the same time, he felt that it was his fault since he hadn't reached her at that time.

"...I'm sorry."

Bourne felt very uncomfortable at that moment.

Ultear looked at Bourne, who apologized to herself, which made her uncomfortable. She became angry and shouted, "Stop that! Just focus on saving Ur! We can talk about that later after we've saved her."

"I know." Bourne nodded.

"So you can save her after I've gotten a geunia pig for you?" Ultear asked.

Bourne shook his head and said, "It's not that simple..." He told her about his hypothesis and he needed at least three more years to return her back after he had tested his method on the guinea pig.

Hearing Bourne's explanation, Ur's heart flucated and nodded. "Three years, right? You can make sure that you can do that?"

"I can do it. She has saved me, she means a lot to me, and I'll do whatever I can to return her back." Bourne wanted Ur to return and feel her warmth again.

Hearing Bourne's confession, Ultear felt that there was something wrong with his words but she kept it within her heart. It felt like the relationship between Ur and Bourne wasn't that simple, but she wasn't sure since Bourne was only 10 years old after all.

"Right, what's your name?" Bourne asked without shame since he had forgotten to ask her name before.

"Ultear."

"Ultear?" Bourne raised his eyebrow and said, "Then, I'll call you Tear. Is that alright?"

"Tear?"

Ultear nodded and didn't mind what her nickname was as long as she wasn't being called Ul by someone. "Then how can I get here?" It wasn't impossible for her to come to this place, but it was impossible for her to enter while bringing the geunia pig to this ice wasteland since she knew that she needed them alive.

"I'll send you back later and if you come then you can contact me using this." Bourne gave Ultear a Communication Lacrima.

Ultear nodded and felt better. Walking to this place was very hard, but she knew that this ice wasteland was necessary to protect her mother.

"Then, I'll go out now."

"Now? Don't you stay for a while?"

Ultear was Ur's daughter and he hadn't talked with anyone for the past three years. He would be lying if he wasn't lonely staying in this place with Ur. He also wanted to know where she had been in the past few years since he didn't want to miss her again.

Ultear pondered for a while and said, "Then, I'll return tomorrow." She also had a lot of things which she wanted to ask him while staying in this place.

Then they decided to talk to each other about what had happened between the two of them. Ultear asked how Ur had happened in the past few years and Bourne also asked the same thing.

"So how did you get here?" Bourne asked. He knew very well about his power and knew that it was almost impossible for someone to enter this place. Looking at Ultear, it was quite an amazing feat since he could see that she was very young.

"Well, it's is easy for me..." Ultear told him how she entered this place. Even though she had told him that it was easy, it was very hard... really.

Talking to each other, Ultear felt very relaxed somehow. In the past, she didn't have time to relax and somehow her mind had always been tense. It might have been their first time meeting, but somehow they felt very comfortable with each other.

Was it because of Ur? That might be the case since both of them cared about Ur so much.

Ultear was wondering whether Bourne would ask about both Gray and Lyon, but it seemed that he didn't mention anything about them from the beginning to the end of the conversation.

Bourne had decided to cut his relationship with Lyon and Gray, he didn't intend to talk with them nor he decided to think about them. His goal was to return Ur back to normal and he didn't have time to become a babysitter for both of them, but Ultear was an exception since she was Ur's daughter. If he married Ur in the future then would Ultear become his stepdaughter and he would become her stepfather?

Bourne wasn't sure whether Ultear could accept it, but well, he didn't intend to think about this matter before he returned back Ur to normal.

Bourne yawned and said, "Let's sleep." He didn't have a hobby of sleeping late and he was on his growth period. Sleeping early was something necessary for him.

Ultear was quite reluctant, but she could see that Bourne was sleepy. Even though Bourne was quite tall of the people in his age, in the end, he was a child after all.

Bourne told Ultear to stay in his room to sleep since it was clean. He would sleep on the sofa since he wanted to pamper Ultear. He decided to go out but he stopped when he heard her voice.

"You're a child, what's wrong with sleeping together?"

"....."

Bourne looked at Ultear who might become his stepdaughter and somehow he felt it was quite wrong for some reason.
