86 Compensation

"Huh?"

Karen looked at Bourne with an inexplicable gaze and didn't understand the meaning behind his words. She wanted to protest and say something, but stopped her mouth when she saw him winking at her.

"What do you mean?" The King asked.

"King, it is not that I'm not trusting you, but this accident has happened...." Bourne sighed and asked, "What if it happens again in the future? Not only Loke, but also Aries, I..." He shook his head and stared at the Celestial Spirit King.

"I can't trust your kin to protect Karen, after what has happened to her."

"Bourne...." Looking at Bourne's expression, Karen felt moved at this moment. If there wasn't a Celestial Spirit King in this place, then she wouldn't hesitate to push Bourne directly to the ground, mating here right away.

"You're saying that our kin is treacherous?" The King asked while releasing his pressure toward Bourne. Bourne's words caused anger in the King since it was the first time for a human to doubt the character of the Celestial Spirit who was known for their loyalty.

Karen, who stood beside Bourne, was also affected by this pressure even though this pressure wasn't aimed at her.

"Yes."

Bourne frowned and also didn't want to lose in this confrontation. He didn't care whether his opponent was the Celestial King Spirit and if they really became an enemy then he wouldn't give this fool a chance to fight back, though, he knew that this was only an act and everything moved according to his plan.

The King stared at Bourne and wanted to refute Bourne, but the evidence was right in front of him.

Loke had deliberately stayed in the human world to cause trouble to his master.

If Bourne didn't appear then Karen would lose her life.

"....."

The Celestial King Spirit stared at Bourne and asked, "What do you want?"

"We only want to annul and annul Karen's contract with her spirit," Bourne said.

"....."

Karen looked at Bourne and really wondered what he was trying to do, but she believed in him. She had seen him for the past year and he also had been trained by him which made her quite meek and had this unconditional trust in him.

"....Do you want to annul your contract with the spirit?" The King asked Karen.

"Y - Yes!" Karen nodded without hesitation, then she started to act. "I - I'm scared of them...."

The King looked at Karen and sighed. He didn't expect Loke to do something stupid and even caused Karen to have a trauma.

"I'm sorry, but I can't grant your wish."

"Why?" Bourne asked. He raised his eyebrow and it seemed it the relationship between human and spirit wasn't that simple since he could see the King seemed to be reluctant to annul the contract between Karen and her spirit after those talks before. He was wondering whether the existence of spirit would disappear once humans started to forget about them.

'Hm.. It's possible.'

However, Bourne didn't have confidence and he could think about that later. The thing that he needed to do was to achieve a large compensation from the Celestial Spirit King.

"I'm sorry for what our kin have done to you, but it isn't a reason for you to lose trust in us." The King looked at Bourne and asked, "Is there way for us to regain that trust again?"

"..."

Bourne thought for a while and asked, "I might not be able to trust the spirits around you, King, but I can trust you to protect Karen." He took a deep breath and asked, "Can you become Karen's spirit, King?"

Karen turned her head and hid behind Bourne since her lips curved showing a beautiful smile. She really wanted to hug this guy at this moment happily, however, she knew that it wouldn't be that easy.

"I'm sorry, but I can't do that," The King said with a sigh.

"Then we have nothing to talk about...." Bourne sighed and said, "Karen has been traumatized by a humanoid spirit after all."

Karen put on a sad expression at this moment and nodded at Bourne's words.

Bourne needed to be bold. He had made Karen the victim and he could tell that this King was a very nice guy. He knew that it was impossible to make a contract with Celestial Spirit King, but it wasn't impossible to get stronger Spirit than 12 Golden Zodiac Keys.

"Hmm... how about I give her a new key," The King said.

"New key?" 2x

Karen and Bourne looked at the Celestial Spirit King at the same time.

Karen was a bit disappointed when the Celestial Spirit King rejected before, but when she that the King was going to give her a new key, she was very happy and curious what kind of key that the King would give her.

"I can give you this key."

The King opened his palm and suddenly a key appeared on his palm.

The key was a golden key with a dark serpentine figure that spiraled around the blade of the key.

"This is a Black Key. It is also known as Ophiuchus, one of the powerful Celestial Spirits whose Gate is referred to as the "13th Gate," the King said.

"Ophiuchus..."

Karen looked at the black key with dumbfounded expression and saw it moving toward her palm. However, her heart was beating very fast when she thought about the power of this new key since she was sure that it was a very powerful spirit.

"I know that everything is a misunderstanding and I'll punish Loke who has done this to you."

The King bowed his head once again which caused them to stop him again. He stood up and said, "Don't worry, this isn't a humanoid spirit, but rather a snake."

"Snake?"

"Yes, a very large snake. It's a very powerful spirit and should be enough to change your the Loke's key in your hand before," the King said.

"Thank you, King," Karen said and bowed her head.

Waving his hand, the King said, "Don't worry, then I'll return now and please take care of your spirits."

Then suddenly the King's body slowly vanished and everything returned back to normal.

When the King disappeared, Karen plopped on the ground since the pressure which was released by the King caused her to feel tired. Fortunately, she was caught by Bourne.

"Thanks," Karen said with a beautiful smile. She wanted to kiss him, but a hand blocked her lips and pushed her away.

"..."

"Don't you want my kiss?!" Karen complained and looked at this guy with an annoyed expression.

"There's something more important to do now!" Bourne said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Karen asked with confused expression since she thought that everything had finished and she was also satisfied that she also received a new key from the Celestial Spirit King.

Bourne attacked Karen with a handchop on her head.

"Ouch!"

Karen held her head and complained, "What are you doing?!"

Bourne looked at Karen and asked, "Have you realized that you've done something wrong?"

Karen snorted and said, "They're my spirit! My tool! I can do whatever I want with it!"

"That's true, spirit is a tool." Bourne nodded and said, "I agree with you."

Karen was surprised then asked, "Then?"

"The way you use your tool is too crude!" Bourne said. He agreed that Celestial Spirit was just a tool, but the way Karen used her tool was too stupid and he needed to remind her how to use her tool in sophisticated way.
