52 Chapter 52

Reze had to guard up as Sam's appearance had changed.

He stared at her with a face full of confidence,  a provoking smirk drawn on his face.

'Guess I'll get fully serious now.' Sam was approaching his lowest Health Points, meaning that any damage he'd take from now on would be lethal to him.

There is no point in holding back. He'll end this.

Reze extended her hand at him, releasing a large explosion.

When Sam appeared on the side, he left an afterimage in his original spot, which was swallowed by the fire.

Reze looked at him and unleashed another explosion from her hand, which swallowed a building.

He got used to her attack, so he could feel how long it would take her between deciding and exploding.

He appeared next to her, and Reze almost gasped and exploded her whole body.

Sam vanished into thin air. When the explosion calmed down, he appeared behind her, his hand on her back.

"Behind you," Sam said.

She gasped.

Before she could explode, Sam pushed with his hand.

Reze was sent flying at a very high speed, crushing a bunch of cars in her way.

Sam didn't stop her.

He appeared above her and waved his sword, cutting her hands.

Reze turned into her human form.

"How can you be this cruel to a girl?" she asked him.

"You pull that ring from your neck to transform and explode," Sam appeared in front of her and crouched. "Meaning that without your hands, you can't use your powers... well... unless you regenerate your limbs."

"It was my fault for underestimating you."

"Do you admit defeat?" Sam asked.

"I wouldn't have my pride as an assassin if I did." She flipped in the air and kicked. Her heels had a sharp blade on them.

Sam sheathed his sword and released his moonlight arc, cutting Reze's long beautiful legs.

What a waste, he thought.

"How about now?" he asked her. "Do you admit defeat, or should I bury you like a warrior?"

"You got me." She looked at the sky. "Too bad that I didn't manage to get my job done."

[Defeating the Bomb devil fiend - Reze]

[+6,000,000 XP]

[You leveled up to level 27]

[+8 AP]

[+4 SP]

Sam gained an extra 4 levels.

'So it's like this. You make your opponent admit defeat or you kill them.'

He looked at her, feeling bad about what he was going to do after he scammed her for 110 million dollars.

'Gotta give her a warrior's burial.'

"Goodbye, Reze," Sam said, raising his sword and holding it with both hands. "Any last words?"

"No... just hope we meet again in hell."

Sam could feel a near fiend approaching with very high speed, attacking him. The feeling was familiar, and the sound of the chainsaws was quite loud and hard to ignore.

"You lucky devil," Sam smirked as he turned and put the blade next to his forehead, blocking three chainsaws.

Sam frowned as he screamed, "Denji! What's the meaning of this!"

"Please, don't kill that girl," Denji replied.

"And why is that?" Sam asked.

"Because I like her," replied Denji. "I have a crush on her."

A few veins appeared on Sam's forehead as he clenched his teeth. "You're a disgrace to all males in the world, you fucking thirsty motherfucker. She's my type. But do you see me sparing her? You are a disgrace to all males in the world."

Seriously. Did Denji think that liking a girl was enough reason to spare her?

Sam liked planet earth, but do you see him going green on everything or not using electricity or cars? No.

He liked Reze too, but he had to finish her off.

Sam took a quick step back and pulled his sword. Denji lost his foothold and bent forward. Not wasting a chance, Sam stabbed him in the guts, sending him flying.

At that moment, Sam's brain started working quickly.

Reze had hired Tony to kidnap him. She promised a full billion dollars, and she meant it.

Now that she had seen that she had no chance against him, she'd hire Tony again with a more promising reward of money. After all, Tony had asked her for prepayment just in case she died. What if she didn't? She'd be able to give him more money.

Sam looked at his blood-covered sword.

A bright idea hit him.

"He waved his sword backward, looking at Denji and saying, "Pathetic."

But just waving his sword backward and stopping caused the blood to fly out of it, landing on Reze's mouth.

Reze regenerated.

"Denji, thank you for saving me," Reze stood up and smiled. Before Sam could turn, she exploded. Then, she vanished.

Sam turned to Denji, who stood up and dashed towards him. "You bastard, always following the girls I like. First Makima. And now you are trying to get Reze."

'Who the heck wants her?' Sam appeared behind Denji, holding him from the back of his collar and throwing him away.

"I do!" Denji screamed. "I want to kiss her again, live with her, marry her, and die with her."

'Dude…' Sam started taking pity on Denji.

Denji had sold his balls and eye as a kid to survive.

Food seemed to him like the most rewarding aim in life.

How about sex? It may seem like a promise of heaven to him.

That's the dopamine effect. Dopamine was never a hormone of happiness. It was the hormone that promises you happiness. It's a trick made by nature that hacks your system and forces you to do things without thinking.

Denji dashed with his utmost speed.

"Stop," Sam extended his hand at him and sheathed his sword.

"What?"

"You want to have sex," Sam smiled. "This is Japan. Ever heard about the Red Light district"

Denji's fiend form vanished, replaced by a blushing expression. "Red light… No. No. I want to have something special."

Denji started drooling as he looked at the sky, seemingly peering inside the invisible bubble.

Sam smirked. "Come with me."

His phone vibrated. As he picked it up from his pocket, he saw that he had received a message from Makima.

Sam smiled a bit. "I'll take you there and pay you for three girls, and we'll call it a night."

Sam turned and looked at the marks that his battle had left: destroyed buildings, cars, and dead people.

Well, this was life.

As a religious person who believed that life and death were in the hands of God, he didn't accept any blame.

Sam joined his hands together, as if praying for the poor souls.

"You'll even pay! Man, you should have said that. You're an angel," Denji replied, seeming as though he was about to melt.
