Sam was at his house, scrolling through his phone.
A message popped up on his phone.
It was from Makima.
[Why aren't you working?] she asked.
Sam replied, [Who said I'm not? Did someone snitch on me?]
To be honest, he was trying to avoid her a bit.
[No. You didn't come to the office. Are you nervous?]
[Nervous about what?]
[Wedding day. You humans get very nervous before marriage. I can smell the fear in your systems from thousands of miles away.]
Sam looked left and right to see if there was some animal she was using to spy on him.
Deciding to shift the conversation's direction, he replied. [Oh. I read once that a mosquito can do the same thing if they were human-sized.]
[So you are calling me a mosquito!!!]
Sam smiled. She was really acting like a human wife, wasn't she.
[Nah. A mosquito wouldn't dry up all my fluids.]
[But I will.]
[Anyway. I'm in the middle of hunting a big devil. So, if you excuse me, I'm doing it in secret.]
[Right.]
[Don't worry.]
[Be careful, please.]
Damn, Sam thought as he read her last message. He could feel a hint of care in her voice. It was like… family.
"It's been a long day, without you, my friend! And I'll tell you all about…"
He started singing.
The door of his room was opened. Power entered, stretching her arms up and said, "Sam, do me a favor and stop singing."
"Do you need something?"
"No. You're just not that good," Power replied.
Not being able to help himself, he grabbed a pillow and threw it at Power, who dodged it and laughed. Sam decided to play with her like the old days and started running after her.
"Come over here."
"Nope."

In an isolated warehouse, Sam was sitting in a chair, strapped from mouth to neck, hands, and knees.
One hand was free, holding a phone.
It would be the perfect time and place to deliver himself on a silver platter.
"Once you send me the payment, I'll give you his address. He's already been beaten badly, hasn't eaten for days, so he's pretty much in a weakened state."
"I doubt that the one who defeated the snake devil would easily be obedient. Make sure he's not able to move."
"Well. The client is always right." He then hung up the call.

"Man, I wonder what Power would think now that I'm a more successful scammer than her," he giggled.
Not wanting to waste more of Reze's time, he sent her a message.
He didn't know why he was waiting for her as he could take the money and leave. But he felt it would be better to keep Tony's reputation. Or maybe, it would be so fun to see her face when she realized that she'd been fooled.
Or maybe he just wanted to look at her one more time.
"Why do all these crazy hot women…" he put the strap on his mouth and tied his hands, "I mean, I was trying to avoid Makima for the last few days, so yeah, I've got plenty of time to kill."

Reze entered the warehouse, the address Tony had sent her.
That boy was clearly obsessed with money, and even when delivering himself, he wasn't present.
Apparently, he was a very careful man, which meant she should be careful dealing with him.
It meant that she wouldn't be able to easily escape paying him.
Well, that could wait for a few days, since many people would be willing to pay more for Sam, other nations.
But for now, she needed him to hunt down the chainsaw man.
Reze saw a young man who matched Sam's appearance tied to a chair. He was well-strapped and looked severely beaten.
Smiling, she walked up to him, reached her hand to his mouth, and grabbed him.
"What are you doing here, little boy?" Reze said, thinking of messing with him.
"Is that supposed to be racial because I'm Asian?" Sam raised his head and looked at her with a wondering look.
"Is that how you answer people who are willing to help you?"
"Who are you?"
"Me, just an undercover cop. How did you get into this situation?" she asked.
She was certain of her ability to manipulate him to achieve her purpose.
He looked at her and smirked. "For the cops to hire a fiend like a girl from ex-Soviet. That would be the cheapest trick."
He could see through her. Well, that's not unusual.
Amused, she smirked. "That's what you can expect from the legendary devil hunter, who believed in himself and became strong."
For the first time, he frowned. He shouted at her, "That's just nonsense Power repeated after my supposed death. You think I need to read some shitty things to achieve my power."
He then moved his body. The chair and the straps exploded into pieces.
Reze jumped backward and looked at him. She had clearly gotten on the nerves of the beast.
He extended his hand to the left, and a red-like energy gathered, forming a sword.
It was quite unbelievable since she had yet to learn about a devil who can do that.
But Sam had enough contracts in his hands, so she must be careful of any unexpected powers.
"Too bad you became a fiend," Sam rolled his sword. "Well. That assures me that you don't have powers of contracts with you."
She smirked. "Please, show me what you are capable of doing." She opened her arms. Defenseless, she approached him. It was a good time to show this little guy who was the boss.
Sam approached her. Despite the full confidence in his steps, his guard was up.
Reze smirked.
Just as he was one meter near to her, she decided to transform. There was a ring on her neck. she reached it and pulled it out.
BOOM
She exploded. The ground shook, a C5-like explosion spread from her body. Dust and glass debris flew everywhere. The floor was destroyed, and the building showed signs of collapsing. Even a tank would have been sent flying from such an explosion. But she was certain that this boy would only take some damage.
Too bad she needed him alive. Or else she would have annihilated him along with the building.
"Phew. That was a close call. Makima was right; dealing with you is surely troublesome," echoed Sam's voice from outside the building.
