JOYFUL MAYHEM

JOYCE MOLLY’S POV

It's been two months since Amelia had her attack. I managed to get her into a private ward. The doctor said the chances of her waking up were low, and if she doesn't wake up by next month, on or before her 17th birthday, they might have to remove her from life support. I really want to celebrate her birthday with her and I just want her to wake up.

"I miss you so much, Amelia. Please, you have to fight this and open your eyes. I can't bear to see you like this." I always cry when I visit her, and today was no different. I lay close to her, shutting my eyes, hoping for a miracle.

"Molly. Molly, you're laying on my hand. Wake up," a scratchy voice says. I feel a light tap on my hand. "Molly, I swear I'll cut your hair and dye it a dull color." Only Amelia would threaten me with my hair.

"Leave me alone, Amelia," I say, slightly annoyed that she's disturbing my peace.

Wait. Amelia? Coma.

Oh my gosh!! I open my eyes and see her trying to push me off. "AMELIA, OH MY FREAKING GEEZ!!! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH. YOU SCARED ME TO DEATH!" I shout as I quickly get up from the bed hugging her quickly and rush outside the room to find the doctor. I notice the smile on her face before I ran out.

I sprint through the hallway, searching for the doctor. Oh, there he is! "Doctor! She's awake. She called my name. And she even threatened me!! Can you believe it? She wakes up from a 2-month coma and makes a freaking threat!! Okay, I'm talking too much. Come and see her yourself. Let's go!"

I am so, so happy. I should have spent some time with Amelia before rushing here, but I was just so scared. I hope she hasn't slipped back into a coma again.

"Hello to you too, Molly," I hear someone say, and I turn around to see who called my name. Only a few people know my actual name. And when I come face to face with him, the color drains from my face.

"H-hi" I wasn't expecting to see him. He is bad news.

"How is Ally doing? Is it Ally? What's her name again?" My eyes widened in surprise when he tried to say her name.

""Amelia," I murmured, my head slightly lowered.

"Yeah, Amelia. It's such a lovely name," he echoed. "So, we were going to see her. Shall we?" he suggested icily.

"A-actually, I'm heading back to the club. No need to go see her. “I hope Harry drops it.

"Oh, but I'm curious about her," he insisted. “You know, one of my gang members has been helping a stripper whose friend is here. Molly, I did some digging at the club, and it turns out you took a two-weeks leave for family reasons," he chuckled.

"Now that's fucked up. You're an orphan. No messed up relative. Remember that contract you signed, Barbie?" he sneered. I remember it clearly. I had to work, get paid, and give him 50% of my earnings.

"Yes, sir," I replied, my voice trembling slightly.

"Good. Not just that ,what's the gang rule about life support at the hospital, Molly?" he asked.

"Life support should be taken off after a month with no signs of improve-improvement ," I whispered, tears streaming down my face. Amelia's in danger because of me.

"Yeah, Molly, that's right, you whore," he spat, walking up behind me and yanking my hair, causing me to cry out in agony. The doctor just stood there, helpless. It wasn't his fault; if he intervened, he might get shot. "Now we're gonna go say hi to Amelia, okay?" I nodded, my head throbbing with pain.

"Good," he sneered, his grip on my hair still tight. "I need to figure out what to do with both of you." He chuckled menacingly as we made our way back to the room where Amelia was staying.
