Dancing In The Dark

Marinette and I have to turn in our report, and talk a little about it in front of the class, same as everyone else.

Hopefully we'll be able to get through it without too much awkwardness.

I would like to go back to being friends, but I don't know if she'd be up for that.

When it's our turn, we both gather our things and go up.

Marinette starts reading in a monotone voice, stuttering often, while I pitch in at times, and show some pictures.

Soon enough we get finished, and are allowed to go back to our seats.

Alya and Marinette start whispering, and Nino gives me a thumbs up.

After everyone has went up, Miss Bustier tells us all we did a good job, and gathers up our reports to start grading.

Nino passes me a note saying,

I respond with

Before we can continue, the bell rings, so we head to our next class.

Marinette avoids me the rest of the day, and goes home for lunch again.

I guess it'll take a while to be friends again, if that even happens.

Later, when school is finished, Principle Damocles announces over the PA to remember that we'll have a new student for next week, and Rose and will be gone.

Why they didn't just do that in the first place, I have no idea.

I go to fencing and walk over to where Kagami is, talking to Felix again.

Apparently he's decided to come here for his entire stay.

Lucky us.

This week, Felix and Kagami fence each other, so I get paired with someone else.

Felix and I ride home together, with him talking about how Kagami really is the best in the school.

If I was like him, I'd suggest him having a crush on her, but I don't.

===========================

Sitting at dinner with your family, talking about what all you'd need for going to school the following week, your mom mentions punctuality, and that you'll have to show up on time for classes.

"No sleeping in, you have to get up in time to get ready and be there by the time the bell rings."

"I know, I know! Don't worry mom, I can handle it!" You protest.

"Why is y/n going to school?" S/n asks.

"Because she is going switching places with someone at the school where Adrien goes." Your mom explains.

"Who was Adrien again?" They ask.

"Cat Noir?" You remind them.

"Oh yeah!"

You roll your eyes and continue eating, before your mom goes on to the subject of Adrien.

"You should have him come back over. Maybe for a Sundae night?"

"Uh, sure. This coming one?"

"Yes. So we can talk to him about how it'll be at the school." Your dad inputs.

"Ok." You say, and finish eating, before going to your room to get some schoolwork done.

Soon enough, everyone else goes to bed, and you go out to the balcony to look at the Eiffel Tower.

Before long, you can see the figure of Cat jumping through the night.

"Hi Angel!" He says, dropping behind you and hugging you.

"Hey Kitty!" You respond, turning around and hugging him back.

"I have news." You say.

"What about?"

"Well, remember how I told you my family always has sundaes on Sunday nights?"

"Yeah."

They invited you to come this coming Sunday."

"Great! I love ice cream!"

"Good. Just show up around 6, and we'll watch a movie when we're finished too."

"Sounds fun! I'm glad they seem ok with us."

"Me too. It was even my dad who suggested you come!"

"Really?!"

"Yep. I guess exposing your biggest secret makes you 'worthy'." You say, using air quotes.

He laughs, and goes off topic by saying, "It's a much prettier night than last, huh?"

He must still be worried about all of them knowing who he is, so you decide not to mention the sudden change.

"I'll say. No horror movie act-outs for you tonight!"

"Nah. Just romance." He says, winking.

You roll your eyes and say, "Sometimes you're cheesier than Plagg!"

"Hey, at least I smell better!"

"Oh, he's not that stinky."

"Y/n, he smells like rotten cheese."

You laugh and jokingly sniff him.

"You smell like a cinnamon roll."

"Better than cheese, right?"

"Yeah, maybe."

"Psh. You smell like," He leans in, sniffing, "angel wings."

"And how do you know what angel wings smell like?"

"I just sniffed you, didn't I?"

"Shut up." You say playfully, pushing at him and blushing.

"And why should I do such a thing as that?"

"Because you can't kiss and talk at the same time!" You say, leaning up and pressing your lips to his.

"Guess you have a point." He says, after pulling away.

"Of course I do."

He gives a small laugh, before saying, "So, on this beautiful night, would you like to accompany me on a trip?"

"To where?" You ask.

"Your favorite place!"

"Yay! Let's go!"

He chuckles and pulls one arm away, getting out his staff and tightening the grip of his other hand around your waist.

Leaping up, and pulling you along, he starts heading towards the tower.

Upon arrival, he sets you gently down and you walk to the railing and look out.

"This view never gets old." You say breathlessly.

Cat takes your hand, and looks at you.

"Neither does this one." He says, gazing into your eyes.

You smile and feel your cheeks get warmer.

He takes his baton, and seemingly have prepared this beforehand, presses a button, making music come out.

"Remember this one?" He asks, and you realize it's the song you'd slow danced to at the party.

"Yep." You say, and put your hand on his shoulder.

He holds out your clasped hands, and places his other hand on your waist.

Moving along to the music, you sway back and forth together.

With the Eiffel shining brightly above, you can see well enough, but it's still pretty dim, which you deem perfect for dancing.

At about the time you would've been bumped by bff/n, you move both of your hands to be around his neck, and he puts the hand that was originally holding yours on your waist.

Moving in, just like the first time, he whispers, "No distractions." Before meeting your lips.
