Chapter 29

Everyone was looking at Sara, waiting for Alex to expel Sara from Scrollania College. After all, everyone in Scrollania College was aware of Alex's terrible temper.

To everyone's surprise, after hearing what Sara had stammered, Alex narrowed his eyes and asked in a calm tone, "What's your name?"

Sara told him her name.

Alex smiled and held the back of Sara's neck, bringing Sara in front of him. He said with a smile, "Sara, right? Would you like to sit next to me?"

Sara was stunned, "Huh?"

"Aren't you supposed to expel her! What's with the weird offer? Come on, snap out of it!" Everyone screamed in their heart.

However, obviously Alex wasn't in his right mind. He looked at Sara with great interest and even adjusted her thick black-rimmed glasses, "You're not even shortsighted, why are you wearing them?"

Sara was surprised, "...How do you know?"

Alex didn't respond. He merely smiled, his delicate eyebrow made him look affable, as if he wasn't the one who looked so gloomy that he was about to kill someone.

Nina was bewildered by the scene. She said courageously, "Alex... Sara is an illegitimate daughter!"

Alex looked at Nina coldly, Nina didn't dare to continue anymore.

Alex said with a smile on his face, "So? It's not like she had a choice."

Alex wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "Right, new classmate?"

If it was in the past, Sara would have been moved by his words. But now, she felt weird.

That handsome boy in front her looked like he was wearing a mask. Although he had at smile on his face, in reality his heart was clouded.

That scared her a little.

Seeing Sara didn't respond, Alex frowned and pinched her cheeks, "You deaf or something?"

Sara said, "... It hurt."

Alex smiled again, "Sit with me. As you can see, everyone hates me and no one is willing to sit with me. I'm lonely."

Everyone was astonished and thought, "Alex... what the h*ll are you talking about? It was you who insisted on sitting alone!

However, no one dared to say that.

Sara glanced at Freya subconciously, who was desperately shaking her head. Alex asked with a smile, "Freya, is there anything wrong with your neck? Why are you shaking your head?"

"..." Freya forced a smile, "...I was just trying to relax my neck."

Alex kept smiling while looking at her.

Freya thought, "Sorry Sara, it's not like I don't want to help you. Alex's a dangerous person, I had no choice!"

She then put Sara's book away on the desk beside Alex, "Sara, just think as helping a classmate out! Alex never had a tablemate! It's really pitiful!"

Sara replied, "...Is that so."

"Yes." Freya said against her will, "You should help Alex with his assignments!"

Sara was wordless.

Alex pulled Sara to his side, "Come here, sit down."

Nina and the rest of her girls were dumbfounded. They exchanged gazes. Nina whispered, "What is Alex trying to do?"

One of the girls said, "...Maybe he wants her to sit next to him so that he could torture her all the time? I mean he could do that if he wants."

Nina agreed. Everyone was well aware of Alex's temper. Instead of trying to be kind to Sara, she'd say he was trying to torture her.

"Guess we'd better stay out of that." Nina commented.

Sara sat down next to Alex. Seeing his clean desk, with no books on it, it was obvious that he wasn't an attentive student. She asked, "Shouldn't we inform Madam Percy about swtiching seats?"

"No." Alex looked much different from when he had kicked the chair. He looked to be in better mood now and said, "Madam Percy doesn't care much about that."

Alex studied Sara and asked, "So, are you from the South?"

Sara's voice was very soft and gentle. She nodded, "Yes."

Alex smiled, "My mom's from the South too. She has a similar accent to yours, but not as adorable as you."

Sara blushed, "I... That is just how I naturally sound. I was born that way."

Back at University, the girls used to make fun of her voice, saying that she was being coquettish on purpose.

"Oh. It's gifted." Alex raised his eyebrows. The mole on the corner of his eye was particularly attractive, "I heard people saying that you have a sugar daddy. How much is he paying you?"

Sara's face turned pale. "... I don't have a Sugar daddy."

Alex said, "Oh, I see."

On the next second, Alex looked up lazily, "Nina."

Nina's back went stiff as she slowly turned around, "What is the matter, Alex?"

He casually picked up one of Sara's gel pens and played with it. His eyes were fierce, "Our new classmate said that she doesn't have a sugar daddy. You spread rumors about her. Should you apologize?" Nina was speechless.

Everyone was speechless too.

Sara was stunned as well, looking at Alex in surprise.

He believed it when she said she didn't have one?

Nina tried to laugh it off, "Alex, I didn't say anything wrong. Look at her outfit. The price is six-digit. Where did she find so much money?"

The smile on Alex's face did not disappear. He said softly, "I said, I want you to apologize. Didn't you hear that?"

"..." Nina was scared out of her wits. Her fists tightened but she didn't dare to offend Alex. Hence, she could only apologize to Sara, "... Sorry, I shouldn't have slandered you."

Sara was a little surprised. She had been bullied before but she had never received any apology.

For a moment, she didn't know what to do.

Alex was still fiddling with the gel pen with his fingers. He sounded lightly, "It looks like she isn't going to forgive you, Nina. Was your apology not sincere enough?"

Sara quickly spoke up, "No... It's just..."

Nina cursed Sara in her heart. She took a deep breath and apologized again, "Sorry Sara... It's my fault. I shouldn't have hurt you. I shouldn't have made any wild accusations of you. Please forgive me!"

Sara sighed, "...Just don't do that again in future."

Nina was enraged.

"How dare you take a p*ss on me!" Nina thought.

However, under Alex's presence, she could only respond submissively, "...Sure."

Alex said, "As classmates, we should be kind to each other. She forgave you this time.

Next time..." There was a smile on Alex's face, "That may not be the case."
