"Summer please don't be like this"

He pleaded. She was behaving like a pro animated machine, devoid of feelings and expression.What he didn't know was that, that was the facade she put on to hide her broken self.

"Like what?

Summer asked in an oblivious manner

"Acting like you do not care about....."

"Honey? A soft melodic voice rang out interrupting Chris, the owner looking pretty like a doll and face like an innocent little girl devoid of schemes. just like a white lotus, Diane walked closer to Chris, linking her arms with his coquettishly. her eyes then settled upon Summer and a look of viciousness flashed in them before it quickly turned to that of surprise and shock.

Had Summer been oblivious to Diane's nature, she would have thought it was an imagination.

"Summer? it's really you? Oh God, where have you been all this while, I've searched everywhere for you" Diane said emotionally, she even went forward to hug Summer but Summer avoided her embrace, she wasn't about to put up with her acting.

Diane put up a pitiful face like she had been wronged. Chris himself didn't seem happy about how Summer reacted, his face wore a frown

"Summer are you still mad at us? Diane asked pitifully, her eyes got misty and teary that Summer got confused

'Why was she now about to cry as if she had been wronged so badly? One of her many talents. Summer thought

"why should I be mad at you? Did I do anything to hurt you both? if I was really mad then I would have hunted you down for what you did to me"

Summer spoke looking directly at Diane before pulling her gaze away to look at Chris, making his heart skip a beat. Diane turned to look at Chris and she clenched her fists when she saw the fondness in his eyes while looking at Summer.

Without warning, she hugged Summer

"Please don't be mad at Chris and I" she said, Summer was taken off guard and reflexively pushed Diane away from her, making Diane miss a foot and fall backwards but Chris was faster to grab her waist, preventing the fall.Diane cried out in pain, she had twisted an ankle, her eyes glistened with unshed tears and her lips pouted, her demeanor garnering pity and protection from anyone who sees her state

"Why would you push her like that?!

Chris reprimanded angrily.He held Diane close to him in a protective stance, like she was a fragile porcelain, Summer couldn't help but force herself to look away from them.

The scene was an eyesore to her."Don't yell at her Chris, it-it wasn't intentional"

Diane defended Summer, trying hard to stiffle her cry. That only made Chris's heart torn the more.

"You're still protecting her even after she pushed you, you're too kind" Chris uttered then turned to Summer. The fondness in his eyes gone, "If you still have a grudge, then take it out on me, leave Diane out of it, I'm at fault for falling in love with her"He told Summer as a matter of fact.

Diane shook her head frantically but gently, as if she was gonna faint any moment from then, "No Chris, don't say that, I'm the one to be blamed not you, Summer take it out on me and exclude Chris" Her overly sweet voice was so touching to the heart, her ankle still hurts.To other people, they might look like the perfect couple that could take one million bullets for each other but to Summer, they looked funny to her.

They both realized that Summer had been quiet all the time while watching them like they were clowns. With a chuckle, she shook her head. "You know, I had quite a good show seeing your PDA, you two should try getting a role in a Cinema, you still think you affect my life like the past? Summer asked them mockingly

Diane narrowed her eyes, wondering what she was playing at.

"Summer we..."

"Let me make this clear...." Summer addressed the both of them, her hazel eyes unwaveringly bold ".....I don't give a damn about your relationship, you two can go fuck yourselves for all I care, stay clear of me!

She spat acidly, turned around, hailed down a cab and got in, leaving the two couple frozen at a spot.

Diane's eyes were filled with hatred as her eyes followed the cab Summer was in.She immediately schooled her expression and turned to look at Chris, who himself,was still in a daze. His expression complicated."Aww!

Diane exclaimed softly, which quickly got his attention

"Are you alright?

"My foot hurts"

She complained pitifully

"Sorry babe, let's go, you shouldn't stand more"

Chris led her into the car gently, a perfect definition of a caring boyfriend. Due to the slight traffic jam, Summer could still see them through the rear view mirror, she fought back her tears.

Once upon a time, she used to be in Diane's position, at the receiving end of his undying love and care.

"I didn't mean for this to happen Chris, it's all my fault that she despises you, I'm sorry *sob*

Diane said regretfully, her paley fingers clutching his shirt delicately in the car

"Don't say that Diane, it's not your fault okay, we're together and in love and that's all that matters"
Chris assured

' why can't she be sweet like Diane?

"ah ah ah, do you want to kill me here now, I survived in the hospital only to be strangled in the house?! Jacob's voice rang out in frustration."Tsk, people would think you're falling off a tree with the way you're shouting, I'm just trying to check your temperature!Lilian scoffed as she rolled her eyes

She had come back only to rush into Summer's room, knowing that Jacob is back from the hospital. She had missed his presence in the house. Seeing Lilian, Jacob knew he was about to kiss his little rest goodbye!

"That is no way close to checking someone's temperature, you might as well kill me, perhaps that's how hooligans do right?"Are you saying I'm unladylike? is that it?!!!

"Oh do I need to say it before you realize that? do you act like a lady? I keep on praying for Andrew, who knows when he's going to loose a tooth"

"You are mean Jay! you're lucky you just got discharged.....oh shit!!!! i have a date night!!! You almost made me miss a night with Andrew! Fuck you Jay! Lilian yelled

"Mind your language young lady!

Jacob scolded but Lilian had already rushed into the bathroom. His eyes narrowed as he made an ugly scowl

"A night with Andrew? oh a deranged boyfriend and a hooligan girlfriend, what a match!

"I can hear you!

Lilian shouted from the bathroom. Few minutes later, she walked out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around her, she threw a dirty look at Jacob who was busy reading a magazine on the bed

"You should have gone to your own bathroom, I'm pretty sure you messed up that bathroom"

Jacob said, merely glancing at her. Lilian simple rolled her eyes and left Summer's room to go to her's"

"Gurlllll you're looking hot, where are you heading to? a club night?

Summer wowed when Lilian came to meet her in the kitchen, all dressed and pretty

"The hell gurllll, no club night, it's Andrew's night" Lilian smirked, picking a sliced tomato and throwing it into her mouth to munch on

Summer whistled

"Wow, that means I ain't expecting you tonight right?

"Oh you bet you're not"

"I'm running late already, you better keep my portion, I'll microwave it tomorrow as breakfast" Lilian requested

"Ah ah, I thought you're gonna eat dinner and breakfast at Andrew's place"

"Yeah but I'm not missing your cooking for anything, so keep mine, it's an order!

"Yeah alright"

Summer chuckled as she watched Lilian run out

"Do we have a guest?

Rose was puzzled for some time but quickly recovered "Umm no no Sir, none. Are we expecting a guest Sir? should I prepare something?

She asked carefully

She was actually surprised Mr Stuart called home to ask about this

Lucian closed his eyes and opened them again

"No, don't"

He hung up the call and his eyes narrowed, he checked the time and it was half past eight already and that woman has still not arrived the Villa

'Is she playing with me or does she have a death wish? Lucian thought.

He was currently in his office, as usual, he was about to work overtime. The staff had already departed the building, just few remaining. He had to work on getting a higher investor, which he knows he would in no time. That Mr Yang will regret his actions

He picked up his phone again and dialed Assistant Michael's number, asking him to come over
In no minute, Michael got into the office

"Yes Boss"

"I want you to give me a file report about the lady I made a contract with, I want to know every damn thing about her life, her routines, everything. leave not a stone unturned" Lucian ordered with utmost seriousness

"Yes Boss, will do" Michael responded but still stood there in a daze 'Does this mean that Mr Stuart does not know a thing about that lady he went into a marriage contract with?He thought, it was a shocker cause that was unlike the Mr Stuart he knows

"Are your legs glued to the floor now? Lucian asked

"Oh not at all Sir, I'll go right now Sir" Michael literally ran out of the office while inwardly scolding himself for being carried away.

Andrew knew he shouldn't drink, after all he was expecting Lilian tonight but never expected his fling, Melissa to come over that evening.

Melissa had managed to dupe her sugar daddy of a huge amount of money and had also transferred quite a huge sum in his account, besides he was the reason she got connected with the man, being a hotel manager, he had access to big men's contact, that same sugar daddy being Mr Clifford, the pervert who had tried to sleep with Summer when she was still a cleaner at the hotel.

Andrew couldn't resist celebrating the huge success with Melissa and so they had drank too much. They were currently in bed, clothes littered on the floor, bodies entwined in a heated session with slurpy sounds of flesh uniting, hitting against each other, oblivious to whatever was happening around them. That was the scene Lilian met and would never forget in her entire years of existence.

Due to their passionate love making, they didn't notice that she stood there at the door watching, before turning around to leave. She aimlessly walked down the busy street. Lilian closed her eyes for few seconds in hopes that it was all a dream, that what she witnessed there wasn't real and that she'll open her eyes to perhaps see herself back at Andrew's house, in his arms, chatting and him making jokes just like he always do, them watching TV together and-and-and so much more things they could do together.

Slowly, she opened her eyes. Reality dawned on her...She's still walking on the street...The heart wrenching pain and the heavy lump in her throat were proof of what she saw, She was suffocating but a single drop of tear didn't escape her eyes.She walked home to meet someone. A shoulder she could only find solace on Her friend, Summer.

"Who could that be at the door? Summer asked in puzzlement, she was seated on a coach at the sitting room unable to sleep cause she was thinking about Mr Stuart's warning of not taking the contract for granted

Jacob had gone to bed after they finished dinner, so she decided to browse through her phone when she heard the knock

Lilian wasn't at home but she wasn't expecting her either, the girl must be with Andrew doing God knows what."Could it be thieves?She thought in fear but boldly stood up, grabbing an umbrella beside the door, she clicked the door upon and immediately raised her hand to strike

"Lily?Summer dropped her hands in shock. Why would Lilian come home now, it wasn't quite long she left for Andrew's house and said she would be spending the night, so...Summer thought as she brought Lilian inside, locking the door

"Lily what happ..." Lilian suddenly fell into Summer's arm and just like that, the tears she had been fighting back came rushing out like a broken dam. "Wh-what happened to you Lily? why are you cryingSummer worriedly asked. She patted Lilian's shoulders and kissed her hair, still Lilian said nothing but kept crying on Summer's shoulder

Her shoulders shook as she cried, it broke Summer's heart

Unknown to them, Jacob stood at the room entrance, he could hear Lilian's cry and he was also worried and broken but he didn't come out

He wanted to give the two ladies space first

"Summer, I-I I'm really broken, my heart hurts so much, so much that I'm suffocating"

"Lily, I'm here, tell me what happened....who made you cry, I swear I'm going to revenge you"

Lilian cried the more

"Andrew doesn't love me, I-I I saw him fucking another woman, I- oh God! They didn't even notice me"

Jacob clenched his fists as his knuckles shook

'That bastard! He boomed inwardly
