After being thoroughly embarrassed by Vincent, Katie was plotting on how to get away from him.

She wasn't confused to where she was when she woke up because the view from the window clearly showed that it was Lotus Mountain. And if she was in a villa like this with minimalistic design, it had to be Vincent Han. Because he owned two of the villas here and the tabloids always said how simple he liked everything.

Although she was cold-blooded, she wasn't ungrateful. If that man helped her, she will return what she owes him. Besides, he saved her only kin in the world.

"It's just a favour, right? It won't take that long." She bit her lip. She wasn't scared of anything other than staying at the same place for a long time. It was dangerous for her!

"Oh that reminds me. I need to talk to Damien."

She activated the chip with her mind power and tried to contact her brother.

A moment later she heard a voice in her head.

"Sis! Are you okay? I went to attack the Uranus Diamonds, but was subdued because of some rare poison they used to immobilise me! Thankfully another organisation had beef with them and arrived at the same time!" Damien kept on blabbering about what happened.

"How powerful was that organisation?" Katie enquired in order to know the extent of Vincent's power.

"Extremely powerful. They were not lone wolves like us working in the shadows. They were properly trained and created to eradicate people in power. Just five of them took down more than fifty people." This time Damien's tone was serious.

Just five people took down more than fifty people? Were they even humans? If they were that strong, what the true depth of their Master's power?

Katie soon realised that she shouldn't make an enemy of Vincent.

She lived in H City for quite a while and she knew Vincent too that way. She knew all the powerful and influential people here. But she only thought Vincent Han was a business tycoon who swam around in money! She never expected him to be someone with this much influence.

The powers of the world were too big and Katie was just a fragment of it. Although her assassination skills were unrivaled, she still was just a nineteen year old with no backup or background.

All Katie remembered was roaming around in the streets all alone. Wearing worn out dirty clothes and having no food to eat.

Those were dark days indeed. Dangerous alleyways and strange people trying to capture her and sell her. But she wasn't one to give up! She ran and ran till she found Damien. A boy just a year or two younger than herself.

He was abandoned too. But who abandoned such a beautiful and cute looking child?

It wasn't like he would climb up on your head and electrocute you every time you offended him!

Katie was a lot matured than her age! Although she was just six, her instincts to protect took over and since then they were a sworn brother and sister couple.

After some time they were both greeted by a really good looking yet mysterious man.

That man promised to give them a good life and make them powerful enough to fend of any evil.

While the other children their age studied, went to school, played with their friends, had a loving family, Katie and Damien scoured around for food and a shade to protect their nimble and weak bodies from the scorching heat and terrifying storms. They saw the evil in people. They saw how everyone disregarded people with no background or family.

They wanted to be powerful! Powerful enough to squash anyone who hurt either of them.

Although Katie was reluctant at first, there was something about this man that was very convincing. Like she was in an empty red field with red skies and all she could see was the man's tempting eyes. He was luring her, controlling her, making her agree to whatever conditions he kept on the table.

Well, his only condition was to protect him for the next ten years. And in the those ten years, he'll make them stronger.

Katie and Damien both agreed and were taken in by that man to a secret island where they both went through rigorous physical and mental training for six months. And then they were shifted back in the main building at the Sea Mountains in Jay Country.

Damien was trained in technology and computers. And turned into the world's top hacker who could hack into any server as long as he was willing. And Katie was trained to be a cold-blooded killer who could kill without a second thought and never fail!

Katie was thrown out of the orphanage she lived in when she was just three.

She remembered the last words her "Mom" from the orphanage said to her. "Katie Su, you're not welcome here anymore! Go away, monster."

Katie didn't have any special attachment to that place other than having a roof to live under and food to fill her stomach.

Because the orphanage had influence, they blacklisted her and no other orphanage in the H City took her in.

But why did they throw her out? That was still a mystery to the young and little Katie. But later when she found out, she was left in a vortex of questions about the strange powers of the world.

When she had her first meal with Damien, there was only a single piece of bun.

Damien stared at Katie's face and said, "Big Sis, I'm not hungry, you eat." Damien said meekly as he tried to breath hard to hide the noise of his growling stomach.

That was the first kindness Katie ever encountered and that is when she declared, "I, Katie Su pledge that as long as I'm alive, I shall protect you and from now on, you're my only brother, Damien Su."

The connection between Damien and Katie was long cut off as Damien was recuperating from the wounds he received from the Uranus Diamonds' men and Katie didn't want to disrupt his rest.

"It's not normal for a top class assassin to get trapped by a simple Uranus Diamonds. Tell me, who did you offend?" Vincent was standing right beside her.

Katie was lost in her thoughts because of reminiscence and didn't even realize when Vincent came in.

"None of your business." Katie sternly replied as she pondered on why that man was still not letting them go.

It has been more than ten years. Thirteen to be exact. As per his words, we just had to protect him for ten years. Why is he not keeping his word? How much more do I have to run? How far?
