Try To Escape

"Help me to escape from here," Flora said, thinking that he was the master here and must know a way to sneak out.

Robin appeared uneasy and grumbled in an unhappy tone, "But if Big Brother finds out, he'll kill me."

"Don't worry, he won't dare to kill you," Flora assured him urgently. As he was Maxwell's little brother and still a child, Maxwell shouldn't go too far with a child, right? Either way, she didn't care.

She just wanted to escape from here, get away from that devilish man. Other matters were of no concern to her.

Robin still shook his head, saying, "I can't help you with this, and you won't be able to escape. Without a car or a boat, there's no way out."

Robin wasn't exaggerating; this coastal villa was surrounded by thick green woods, and it wasn't possible to leave on foot.

When she came here, Flora knew how long the car had driven on a winding mountain road. However, as long as she could escape from the mansion, she wouldn't care. She'd rather die on the way than stay here and endure humiliation.

"That's my concern; you don't need to worry about it," Flora stated resolutely, not giving up the slightest chance of escaping.

Robin still shook his head.

Annoyed, Flora turned and pointed to the bedroom door, speaking coldly, "I'm sorry, Little Young Master, please return to your room and rest. I need to sleep."

Her words were an obvious threat.

Seeing her firm stance, Robin reluctantly agreed, "Fine, I promise. But if you get eaten by wolves, don't blame me. There are lots of wild animals around here."

"That's still better than being violated by Maxwell, that devil," Flora whispered. After hearing his promise, she breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. She wished she could escape with him right away.

"Who are you calling a devil?" Robin curiously asked.

Flora shook her head and said, "No, you misheard. Little Young Master, go to sleep now. I promise to have the puzzle completed for you within three hours, and once it's done, I'll wake you up, and then you fulfill your promise."

"Okay," Robin nodded excitedly at the prospect of the puzzle being completed within three hours. He then rushed to the big bed, snuggled into the covers while still wearing his large coat, and obediently went to sleep.

Flora was worried he might get cold, so she tucked him in. And then she went into the bathroom to wash away the lingering scent of Maxwell from her body. After dressing, she knelt on the floor and began assembling the puzzle pieces following the mental plan she had devised from her observations in Maxwell's room.

Luckily, she had memorized all the instructions and routes she needed to complete the puzzle, or even three days might not have been enough. She was eager to finish the picture as soon as possible and leave this mansion. However, she knew she couldn't be hasty. She would have to wait until Maxwell was asleep before attempting to escape; otherwise, there would be dire consequences if he caught her.

Three hours would be around two or three in the morning, the time when she was sure Maxwell would be asleep. The other servants would be sleeping as well, making it the perfect opportunity to escape!

Three hours later, a large puzzle identical to the one in Maxwell's room was completed. Flora finally breathed a sigh of relief, rubbed her tired eyes, and then walked to the bed. She reached out and pulled Robin out from under the covers, shaking his body and saying, "Hey, Little Young Master, wake up."

Robin grumbled and mumbled with his eyes still closed, then turned over and continued sleeping.

Flora had an idea and leaned down to his ear, saying loudly, "Little Young Master, Second Young Master is back and wants the puzzle."

"Oh—Second Brother?" Robin instantly leaped out of bed, his eyes wide open and searching left and right as he asked, "Second Brother is back? Where is he?"

Amused by his adorable reaction, Flora pointed to the large puzzle on the floor and said, "My task is done, and now it's your turn."

"My turn for what?" Robin, feigning ignorance or genuinely not understanding, blinked his innocent eyes. He quickly placed his hands on the edge of the bed, hopped down, and ran over to the puzzle, exclaiming excitedly, "Wow, Flora, you're amazing!"

Flora threatened, "If you dare go back on your word, I'll..." and she made a motion as if she would mess up the puzzle. Her heart raced with hope and excitement. If all went well, she could leave this place, and she hoped this little guy in front of her could help her.

"Hey..." Robin quickly stopped her from messing up the puzzle, fearing she might ruin it. He said, "Okay, I'll help you, but if my big brother catches you, it'll be terrible. He doesn't like disobedient people." Robin kindly warned her. In reality, he was also afraid of Maxwell, but there was nothing he could do. After all, it was his carelessness that had led to the damage to Oliver's belongings.

"I'm not afraid!" Flora stubbornly declared.

Even if there was only a one-in-a-million chance, she was determined to attempt an escape. She had been seeking a way out of this place for a long time. Even if she was caught and subjected to more torment when brought back, she had resigned herself to that fate.

Robin, still somewhat nervous, took off his large coat and hat and then gestured for Flora to be quiet. He gently opened the bedroom door and, after looking around to ensure no one was nearby, ventured outside.

Flora, fearing to alert anyone, didn't even put on her shoes and followed Robin, stepping lightly.

The long corridor was dimly lit by wall lamps on either side, and the silence was so profound that she could hear her breathing. Flora's heart was racing with fear and excitement.

The two of them walked down the winding staircase one after the other, avoiding a few men in black and moving toward the backyard. Under the cover of the night, Flora soon spotted an old plum tree leaning against the wall, and Robin was leading her toward it.

Flora felt a surge of anger. This little guy had made fun of her during the day, calling her a fool, and now he was leading her to the very same spot he'd claimed she couldn't escape from!
