A prolonged period

"You want me to clarify this issue?" Sophie asked as she looked at the newspaper.

"Yes," Junwei nodded his head. "Because you started it."

Ciao Hong cleared his throat and told Junwei that he had talked with the chairman in the morning. "Chairman Zheng has said that an official statement has been released on this," He stated.

"Miss Lin hasn't clarified why I took her to my house. She only mentioned that she was stalked by a man while she kept the other matter secret. Also, I do not want it to be the way that people think I am dating your agency's actress," Junwei stated.

"Mr. Yu, we have mentioned that you were there to merely help Miss Lin. We have asked people not to think that you both are dating," Ciao Hong replied.

"Jun, I do not want to tell the people that there was a video that was within that stalker's possession. Also, when did you start caring about such things? Please understand me for this last time. I will make sure from the next time, such an incident will not happen," Sophie asserted.

"Fine. You both can leave," Junwei said and he stood up from the office couch. He had his hand inside his pocket when Sophie asked him if he could not shift his meeting with her team earlier.

"No. You have to wait till late noon," Junwei said. He looked at Wang Zexi and asked him to send them back to the conference room. Sophie stood up and left with Ciao.

"Sophie, you should not anger Yu Junwei anymore," Ciao said in a low voice as they sat on the chairs.

"It was not in my hand, Ciao Hong. I know I was careless to accept a gift from the unknown, but I did not know that a paparazzi would chase us to his house," she affirmed and crossed her arms. She looked at the team leader of the project and asked him if they had to wait till late evening.

"Yes, Miss Lin."

Sophie inhaled a deep breath and leaned her head back on the chair. It bent back and she closed her eyes. "He could have told us to come later. Does he not love saving time? Then, why is he wasting my time?" she murmured. She opened his eyes and saw Ciao was busy on the phone. She thought to go out and explore around the company.

"Ciao, I will be back soon," Sophie said.

"Where are you going?" Ciao asked as he put his phone down.

"To the washroom," Sophie lied. She picked up her phone and went out of the conference room. She walked ahead and entered the elevator. She started with the second floor and found how immersed they were in their respective works. The sales department looked chaotic and she left that place before anyone could notice her.

She explored a few floors and then took a rest in the cafe house inside the company.

"One latte, please," Sophie ordered and paid for it. The female employee asked her humbly if she could get her autograph to which Sophie readily agreed. She gave her an autograph and cheered her for the work.

Sophie took a seat near the aquarium and sipped the latte. She saw the business magazine on the circular table, next to her and she picked it up. She got curious to read it because she saw Junwei's picture at the front.

Sophie picked it up and took her seat again. "He looks handsome," she mumbled and opened the magazine. While flipping the pages, she read about various achievements of Junwei. "He invented a lot of things at such a young age."

Her eyes landed on the interview that Junwei had given to the top news channel in the country and started to read about it. She smiled to read all the questions that he had answered except for the one question which was related to his love life. She was slightly confused to read about it.

Interviewer: Is Mr. Yu planning to get into a relationship or marry someone? He is in his late twenties and many people look forward to his relationship, especially single women.

Junwei: I am not thinking about having a relationship or getting married to someone. I will stay single for a prolonged period.

"What did he mean by 'a prolonged period'?" Sophie muttered. "Did he really not date anyone? Or he dated but got betrayed in love? His statement does show that he got hurt by a woman. Did he date someone?" she murmured and frowned. Was that the reason Junwei kept pushing her away? She wondered who could be the woman, who had hurt Junwei so that he did not want to get into a relationship.
