I went out of the gate to catch up with Ashlyn, but stopped after she entered a taxi. I needed to let her be for now. She needed some time for herself. I have to wait for her as I was the one who hurt her.

When I returned back to my house, my mom was standing there waiting for me with the confused look.

“ Kendrick, what happened ?,” she asked with the curiosities.

“ Mom, I think we should sit and talk. I need to talk to you about something,” I said and took mom inside.

I told her everything. How much I loved her ? and yes all about bet too. And, explaining everything to her, she was looking at me like I was a fool.

“Kendrick, I don't know how I got a fool like you for a son ? How did you ever think she had your greedy mind?,” she said.

I didn't have anything to defend myself with, so I just sat quietly watching her speak as she kept on lecturing me for a long time and then, she said,” How do you intend to ask for a forgiveness now ?”
