SCROLL AND INK

Ling Feng's mouth almost hung open. The girl that came out of the guest room was a huge contrast from the crazy lunatic that he always had quarreled with. She was dressing in a very simple sundress but the neat packing of her hair in a ponytail accentuated her beautiful neck bones.

Her ponytail was long and landed just on one of her shoulders. Just above the neckline of the dress that was a low sweetheart. Ling Feng worked on some fashion projects so he knew a little bit about these terms.

"I'm ready", the girl stood innocently waiting for his response. She seemed so docile now compared to all the other times. Ling Feng knew she was far beyond that, a better way to describe her would be wild, uncultured, and a ticking time bomb.

Ling Feng was brought back to their senses as he turned down to look at his wristwatch.

Damn it, it was almost 9:00, "Took you long enough. Let's go", he dismissed himself leaving the room.

Wang Yu Yan followed him very excitedly. For the first time since she came here, she would finally leave the house. Ling Feng always urged her to leave the house but she didn't want to, considering the circumstances where he always told her to leave.

This instance however didn't feel, to Wang Yu Yan, as if she was being kicked out. This time he didn't pack her belongings and he also explained where they were going too.

Ling Feng told her that they were going to his job. Wang Yu Yan didn't understand what an office was but she knew enough to know that people did have to go to work to make a living. She felt sad that she never had the opportunity though as she was a princess everything was already given to her.

But now looking a Ling Feng go to work, a part of wished she also could work for a living.

Wang Yu Yan was amazed arriving at the entrance of the large building. Not even the tallest trees in the forest that she saw that day went as high as this building. Thinking that people really built that made Wang Yu Yan doubt that possibility even more.

Ling Feng walked too fast so Wang Yu Yan had to walk while semi-running to keep up with his pace. Then they arrived at a large very open room. This room had more walls made out of glass than the house. Almost all the walls wall were glass except one.

Ling Feng must really like being able to see things outside from the inside. Wang Yu Yan was instructed to sit down on the bench similar to the one Ling Feng had in the room with the big screen.

Wang Yu Yan felt out of place there will all the people coming in and out to report something to Ling Feng.

Ling Feng was preoccupied with all his work and Wang Yu Yan paid attention to his movements. In his current state, Ling Feng gave Wang Yu Yan the memory of her mother.

She remembers how she was always engrossed in her work and never had time for her. She did understand that as her mother was the queen and the only ruler of Guan Continent. Her mother obviously had a lot of work to do.

That though didn't make Wang Yu Yan feel any better. Ever since she was young she has seen her mother only a few times a year. And whenever she wanted to see her she had to request it formally at the main palace.

Thinking about that Wang Yu Yan felt a surge of emotions but soon she brushed it off. Wang Yu Yan had gotten bored so she stood up and went to Ling Feng's desk.

She went behind his chair and watched as he meticulously typed continuously on the folding screen with buttons.

Wang Yu Yan was in awe at how the screen recorded all that Ling Feng typed. All its functions were so advance she couldn't keep up.

The amount of times Wang Yu Yan has been shocked at what man has been able to accomplish in this land was countless.

"What are you doing? I said stay on the sofa", Ling Feng spoke without stopping his work.

"I want to see what you are doing",

"Go back to your seat",

Wang Yu Yan immediately went back to her seat trying to find a comfortable position for her to stay.

"Seems like someone is finally learning to be obedient",

She responded with a blank look leading him to give her a smirk.

"Since you are starting to behave. I'll reward you",

Ling Feng pressed the dial-er and spoke into it, "Hou Ming",

The voice sounded through the speaker, "Yes Mr. Ling",

"Come to my office, please", he didn't wait for a reply and he continued with his task.

A minute hadn't passed and his assistant came into the office.

"Yes, sir?", he stood a few steps away from Ling Feng's desk.

"Please run some errands for me, I've sent you an email", he briefly told his assistant as he was busy with his heavy workload.

"On It, sir", he bowed slightly before he turned to leave.

"Oh, about Miss Wang here. Please give her something to do, she seems very bored", Hou Ming wasn't at the door yet when he heard his boss continue.

"Sir?", he questioned.

Ling Feng stopped typing to look at him, "I said this lady on the couch is bored and needs something to do. Please tend to that",

Hou Ming was even more confused, "What do you mean to give her something to do",

He looked at the unfamiliar face of the girl and tried to rationalize what she was doing here. Why exactly was his boss asking him to do something for her?

"Oh I don't know, give her a game or something. Just something to keep her busy. Or better yet let's ask her what she wants to do",

Hou Ming mentally scratched his head at his boss's answer. He turned his body in the direction of the girl sitting on the couch.

"Miss, is there anything you want me to bring for you",

In a curt answer, she replied, "A scroll and some ink",

It took a while for Him to understand what she meant but after a moment of pondering over the meaning. He realized that this woman was indeed familiar. His eyes widened upon the realization.

It's her. He covered his mouth in shock.
