Chapter 4
Not even a minute passes, a knock on the door makes both Donavan and Nathalia look at the door to see it open and reveal Olivia who is smiling kindly. She walks with elegance and ease as if she is not wearing three inches stilettos shoes.
"Teach her about everything which she should learn. From today until you leave, she is in your hands," Donavan instructs Olivia , who Nathalia assumes to be his personal assistant that she will replace.
Looking at Olivia whose clothes and actions both shows perfection on her job, makes her worry that she may not be as competent and capable as her. She then realizes that she must learn as much as she can and improve while Olivia is still there to teach her.
Olivia smiles widely upon hearing what Donavan has said. "Gladly! Mr. Montenegro," she replies with evident happiness in her voice that Donavan can only shake his head as he can see how much Olivia is ready to turn into a new leaf. To change her life from being a career woman into a housewife. Seeing his reaction, Olivia only smirks at him before she averts her eyes towards Nathalia who she catches looking at her with admiration. Smiling sweetly towards Nathalia, she extends her hand for a handshake as she speaks, "Congratulations, Ms. Sanchez!"
Nathalia then replies with a thank you as she stands up from her seat and receives her hand. Afterwards, Nathalia faces Donavan and she smiles at him before she says thank you and slightly bows her head in respect.
"Congratulations and I wish you all the best. Olivia here will instruct and train you in everything that you must know. I hope by the time you finish your training, you will be as fit as her to work under me." Mr. Montenegro says after he nods at Nathalia. Though he has his smile on, Nathalia still cannot help but feel the pressure to do her best. And one more thing which she must learn is how to be immune to her new boss' unearthly appearance.
"You can count on me, Sir" she says before she and Olivia leave the room, leaving Mr. Montenegro alone. The lady brings her to the thirty-night floor of the building and shows her where the CEO office is together with her table which is right outside of Mr. Montenegro's office and beside Olivia's table.
As they walk and as Olivia tours her to the office and pantry area, she introduces herself to Nathalia. Nathalia is able to confirm that she is Olivia Olivares who is the current personal assistant of Mr. Donavan Montenegro. She learns as well that she will be leaving after a month, which is why she must learn everything like the back of her hand before then as Olivia cannot prolong her stay because she will need to prepare for her upcoming nuptial.
After they finish touring around the office and other places that will be relevant to Nathalia's work, Olivia informs her that she must arrive tomorrow at seven in the morning for work when their first official training starts.
On the other hand, all the other remaining applicants are instructed to go home after they announce that someone already had the position. However, not to waste their time, the company has given them a list of other companies where they can apply as a compensation for their time.
After Nathalia has left the company, Donavan goes back to his office and sits back in his swivel chair as he rests his back and head. After a while, he sits upright and opens his third drawer where a small box is situated. He opens it and there lays the same necklace that Nathalia is wearing. The only difference is that instead of flowers in the resin pendant, there are blue sands in there and a gold glitters that forms the same phrase 'Only Yours'.

Fifteen years have already passed, but the memories and promise which Donavan has bestowed towards the ten years old girl still lingers on both of his mind and heart. He can still remember that sunny day. It is his childhood's tenth birthday. He is thirteen then and as a gift, he gives her the partner of the necklace which he makes himself as he promises to her that when the right time comes, he will marry her.
They are still children back then, but he is sure of the love he feels for her.
His mind then shifts back towards his new assistant. If his new personal happens to be Thalia, his childhood sweetheart then he is no longer sure if he can be true to his words and do what he has vowed. Pain suddenly surges into his heart as the idea of his new assistant who is already married and has a child be the same person as Thalia. All those years that have passed by, he promises to fulfill his promise, but with her having a family, he does not know what to do next.
He picks up the folder on his table and looks at Natalia's CV again to see her marital status that shows she is already married for the past five years and has a four year old daughter. He stares into space as he starts to wonder if it is their destiny. If their promise had truly ended fifteen years ago. He wonders if he is a fool who still keeps looking forward to the promise which is made when he is still a child.
He is still deep in his own thoughts when a knock on the door pulls him out back to reality. Don then closes the CV and places it back on his table and closes the jewelry box as well before he places it back to his drawer. When everything has been cleaned, he looks at the door and lets the person who knocks come in.
After a second, Olivia enters the office with multiple files on her hand that need to be signed by him. Olivia places it on the top of his desk and he instantly grabs it near him before he grabs a pen and opens the documents. Before he signs the first one, he looks back at Olivia and asks her if she is able to talk with her replacement and briefs her with a few things.
"Yes Sir," she replies. "I told her to start tomorrow, so I can begin to instruct her with everything she has to know. I also informed HR already as well." she adds.
He then continues signing the files after reading the reports when Olivia speaks again to ask if it is okay for her to ask him a question. He places his pen down and looks at Olivia to give her his full attention as he nods his head in affirmation.
"Why did you choose Ms. Sanchez? Among all the applicants, it is only her who is married." Olivia asks in full curiosity.
Donavan's reason is much deeper than any other reason that one could think of, but he chose not to say it. He looks at her and smirks before he replies. "You are right. I have interviewed many applicants already and it is only her who is married. I think it is a great choice as well to prevent any unnecessary rumors from circulating like what happened to the both of us. They all think that we are flirting with each other, especially when we attend events together. It is my only good fortune that Aaron is not affected by those rumors."
Donavan explains the half truth behind his decision and Olivia smiles and nods as she is convinced by it. Olivia is a great assistant that her father chose for him, and he is right to accept her to work for him as she has proven her worth along the way.
"I am really thankful that my Dad chose you as my personal assistant," he says towards her which makes them both smile.
