Her Promised

Chapter 6

Gian paused for a moment. He stared at her eyes, full of unanswerred questions.

"I-it's because I know you very well. We've been together for so long. I know that you would take the subway for you to save money and I was taking a shower when you called....."

".....I panicked when I saw you walking towards the railway. Now, you understand why I feel uneasy and nervous?" Jasmine just smiled at him. She reached for his hand and gave it a quick kiss.

"But...you still don't believe me, do you?" Gian sighed because of her question.

"Jas.....you know that there's nothing that I should believe."

"I'll take you to work." Gian offered her.

"No need to. I'll just take the bus." She shook her head and fix her sling bag.

"I'll go with you. I need to buy some new clothes too."

"Alright. Let's go, then."

Both of them sat on the 2nd row. Jasmine sat beside the window to take a short nap.

She feel tired but no matter how much she wanted to sleep. Her brain was fully awake. She looked at Gian who immediately face her too.

"Something's bothering you?"

"I can't take a nap, I don't know why."

"Strange. You love to sleep while traveling. Come, I'll give you a hand." Gian let her head rest on his shoulder while wrapping his arms around hers.

"Do you feel comfortable now?"

"Always...whenever I'm with you."

"You really know how to make me smile." He kissed her forehead and waited for Jasmine to fall asleep since it takes 30 minutes before they can arrive.

When Jasmine fully closed her eyes and after some time, videos started to flashed inside her head again.

It was a large tree with a firm and strong branch where a single apple sat. From the ground she saw perfect green grass, swaying together with the wind.

"Home is waiting for you."

She quickly opened her eyes and her head arise from resting on Gian's shoulder.

"Is there something wrong?" Gian asked her.

"I-i just dreamed of something."

"Dreamed? How come? You just closed your eyes for about 2 seconds, Jas."

"Really? I just fell asleep for 15 minutes." Gian unbelievably shrugged and shook his head.

"I don't know what you are talking about. View the time on your phone. We entered the bus on 8:22." Jasmine obey him. She turned on her phone and she was shock to see the time.

8:28 a.m.

She can't believe it. She even imagined that she's living inside her dream.

It was 6 in the evening when Jasmine's shift ended. She was paid by the manager before she changed her clothes.

"Jasmine, hurry up, girl. Gian is waiting for you outside." Her co-worker named Elise entered the locker room.

"Tell me, do you both have special feelings for each other?" Jasmine just smiled and wore her sling bag.

"Got to go, Elise."

"Well, take care. Hope there won't be any baby in a carriage soon. Good luck to your relationship with Gian!" She shouted as soon as Jasmine got out of the workplace.

"Hi."

"Hey."

"How's work?"

"It was so busy. There's so many tourist and I'm glad that I didn't need to work over-time." She said while walking towards the terminal.

Jasmine suddenly thought of what Elise' said.

Relationship? What are we exactly, Gian? Lovers? Bestfriends? Bestfriend with benefits?

Jasmine was quite shy to ask Gian about their relationship label. She doesn't want to get disappointed. So, she remained silent.

They exchange I love you's.

They make out.

They dated.

But Jasmine is still confuse.

"Hey, Jas." She stopped from walking and faced Gian.

"What?"

"Let's go out." He said without hesitation, hands inside his pockets.

"Why? It's not our birthday."

Yeah, you read it right. Jasmine and Gian have the same birthdate and it is on February 28.

"I mean.....date, let's have a date. You will be the one to choose where."

"You're acting strange, lately. You became not-so-bossy and.....you act like a lost puppy!" Jasmine laughed when Gian frowned.

"HA. HA. HA. Not so-funny, Jas. Why? Is there anything wrong in dating my girlfriend." Jasmine don't know how to react on what he had said.

"G-girlfriend?"

"Of course!" Jasmine turned around to hide her tomato-like face.

"We are more than that, actually."

"What did you said?" She looked at him when Jasmine heard him murmured something.

"I asked you where do you want to go?"

"Oh. Town Mall, let's go there."

"Okay. You're the boss."

Jasmine and Gian played Zombie Gun Shot on an arcade and who ever may lose will be the one to pay for the ice cream.

And in the end,

Jasmine lose. She took 5 dollars from her pocket. She choose the Pistachio flavor while Gian picked the apple one.

"Where to go next?"

"Hmm. I know a place."

"Where?"

"Just follow me. It's not far from here."

"I thought you bought some clothes?"

"Nah, I lied. I just want to take you to work."

"It's just you being you."

Gian closed his eyes because of the calmness brought by the gentle wind as he sat on the soft sand.

Gian didn't expect that both of them will end up in the seaside beside the Town Mall. Jasmine breathtakingly stared at the dark clean water where the reflection of the gigantic moon lies.

It's beautiful and quiet. A romantic spot that suits the both of them.

"Hey." His voice were huskily tired.

"Hmm?"

"Come here." Gian gently pulled her. Jasmine comfortably sat on his lap as his hot breath touched her neck.

"Jasmine."

"Yes, Gian?"

"No matter what road you may take, book you may flip, pain you may discover and world you may enter. Please, don't forget how I'm willing to give up everything just to be with you." He gently stroke her skin.

"Why are you saying this? And what do you mean?"

"I just want my words to leave a mark inside your heart. Don't leave me, Jas. Don't leave me." Jasmine may be confuse but she didn't ask an another question. She just face Gian and cupped his cheeks.

"I won't leave you...Never." She said before giving Gian a quick kiss.
