Consequences

I was both confused and nervous, I did not know what this man was talking about nor did I even know if I could trust him.

"what do you mean what is to come? How do we even know we can trust what you are saying?" I asked hesistantly.

The man looked back at me with a sorry looking experession and impatiently said "You two are the forbidden Celestials, you cannot be together, you are defying my billion year long tradition, tell me, Celestial of Death, why do you choose to be with The Celestial of Hope?"

I stepped back and aggressively said "Why do I have to be with The Celestial of Despair in the first place? Why can I not be with Hope? I chose her long before I even knew I was destined for this fate! If you really want Death to be with Despair why don't you just take our powers away from us!?"

I expected the man to be angry with my argument, but he looked almost glad that I didn't faulter in my decision.

"You may be with her, but your choice does effect the very building blocks that I built this universe on, I am not the only High Celestial. You see there are others, just as powerful as I, and in the time that I've been gone, they may have even gotten more powerful than myself."

The man paused and took a deep breath to brace us for the informatoin he was going to lay on us, "You both know why I split myself into the four Celestials, I cannot choose who the Celestial power falls upon, it is now up to you two, to fight against the High Celestials who have now taken notice of my creation, the very universe itself."

I looked at Abbie and she was looking about ready to pass out, she had used way too much of her power for her first day of awakening, I looked back at the man and asked "So if these 'High Celestials' are as powerful if not more so than yourself, and you technically don't even exist anymore, how do you expect us to fight them when we are only one fourth of your strength each?!"

Abbie chimmed in for a second and said "Yeah! and besides that, we barely have any experience with our powers, we don't even know our Celestial weapons names yet!"

The man looked down at the ground as if to think for a moment, I could see Abbie's mom running back to us in the corner of my eye and the man replied "Then... You are just going to have to kill both Life and Despair to combine your powers."
