Celestial Elves' Survival Game

Celestial Elves, a race of Celestial beings, bargained with the world leaders of Earth to not destroy the planet if they could offer them an appreciable number of prisoners as compensation for not destroying their world. The leaders gathered around and agreed to their terms. After all, what could be better than such a deal. These were just a bunch of cutthroat criminals and misfits. A thorn to the society at large. The world leaders would be glad to let these bands of miscreants leave their homeland as soon as possible. And so a deal was struck with the Celestial beings, with the inhabitants of the world at large oblivious to this knowledge except for the world leaders of course. A total of 80,000 criminals charged with a death sentence would be enough to placate the Celestials urge for destruction. And here’s where our protagonist comes into play. Ace Tempest, an eighteen year old undergraduate, was incarcerated for the murder of his father who in turn was at fault for the domestic violence he implements while at home.  Thrown into a prison facility just like the rest of the criminals, Ace had no choice but to take part in this survival game where players who suffered in-game deaths would surely follow a similar fate in real life. But that wasn't all, since the players were in another world, the inhabitants of Earth had already forgotten the players even existed. Now what will he do since both his mother and sister had forgotten all about him? Will he strive to win the 1,000,000,000 dollar reward or will something totally unexpected occur to him in the game. If you don't wanna miss it then come and join the fun. Thanks. [[ Warning!! Contains Mature Content and Gore.]] Please, all events that occurred in this novel is completely fictional. Any name or event that may or might have occurred in real life is completely coincidental. Moreover the Earth here isn't the real one but more like a parallel world.  Warning!! 10. The Last Goblin.

*Growl!!*

The giant goblin charged toward its mace. I grabbed the already gathered rocks of the deceased smaller goblin and aimed toward the massive goblin.

[Goblins Level 1]

[HP: 10/10.]

I fired two rocks, hoping it would slow it down, but this only helped to enrage the goblin more.

I had three more rocks left, but it still wasn't enough to stop the goblin.

[HP 5/10.]

The goblin rushed towards its massive mace. It was clear, it aimed to use that to fight against me.

I scanned around, but there weren't any rocks I could use as ammo.

The goblin heightened its pace, but I didn't give up as well.

This was a matter of speed, and the first one to reach the mace wins.

I used my scrawny hands to lift the massive rock I once used against the little goblin and raised it high above my head.

The rock still had a little blue liquid dripping down from it.

With an aching and feeble body, I lunged toward the giant goblin before tossing the rock toward it.

It barely managed to evade the rock, but that afforded me enough time to get to the massive mace.

I hurriedly lifted my gaze to see the goblin heading towards the smaller mace I used to kill one of the smaller goblins.

"Oh no you don't," I yelled, then tried to lift the massive mace, but its weight was unbelievable.

It was barely easy to lift such a weapon, not to mention swinging it.

'This isn't good,' I panicked. The goblin was just a few seconds away from grabbing the smaller mace.

If it was skilled in using the massive mace, the smaller one would only be a piece of cake for it to handle.

"Yes!!" I glanced at the ground to see three rocks I could use.

I fired the first one, but it missed, the second one did the same as well, but now the goblin had arrived at the mace.

Now I had no choice but to calm my mind a bit for the attack.

With a determined look on my face, I placed the rock into the slingshot and pulled with every fiber of my being before releasing it.

*Boink*

"Yes!!" I rejoiced. The goblin staggered back a bit. It was stunned by the sudden attack, and it unexpectedly dropped the mace to the ground.

I managed to close the distance, but it wasn't enough for me to get close enough to attack.

The goblin roared in rage and grabbed its mace, but now I had reached three steps toward it.

It swung its mace, to which I barely managed to return the favor as well.

*Boom!!*

Its smaller mace was destroyed by my bigger one and with its eyes still vividly in shock by what had happened, coupled with the goblin hand still vibrating, caused by the impact I made.

I used the spiky mace to smash the goblin's face.

-2

It fell straight to the ground with blue liquid scattered around. I offered it little time to react before smashing its head ceaselessly with the mace.

The first smash had killed the goblin, but it wasn't enough for me.

I continued to release the rage in me. A part of me feared I could have ended like one of the dead prisoners by now if I had not manned up to stand up against all five goblins.

The goblin body suddenly disintegrated into pixels and only then did my mind and body got weak from all the running, sliding, and injury I had been inflicted with.

All the goblins were level-one monsters, but the giant one probably had a lot of experience as a level-one.

I dropped to the ground with the feeling of pain assaulting every part of my body.

But then, the battle log appeared.

[Ding!! Bashed. Target was smashed to death. You have killed a goblin. 10 damage was inflicted on Target's HP. Dropped item: A mace and 3 gold coins. You have gained 5 exp.]

I steadily stretched my hand to grab the mace to really take a look at it, but then a piece of information about the mace popped up.

[Name: Mace.]

[Grade: Low]

[Quality: Low]

[Durability: 3%.]

[Requirements: Level 1.]

[Attribute requirements: STR 1 and above]

[Effects: Capable of inflicting +2 damage against monsters and unarmored targets depending on how it is used.]

[Note: Current durability is very low. One more hit with the mace and it is kaput.]

"Hmm, the durability is very low huh?"

While I was reading the details of the mace, I noticed several cracks currently on the mace, and I understood why the mace would barely last long with me if I were to use it.

Nonetheless, a weapon remains a weapon. I cautiously stored the mace in my inventory before looking into my status.

Currently, the mace and the slingshot were my only weapons.

"Soon I won't have to use a massive rock as a makeshift weapon anymore," I said as my mind drifted once again toward my mom and sister.

"What are they doing right now if they can't even remember me," I wondered.

"I'm sure Sophia would be working multiple shifts to bring food to the table,"

"But they don't even know I'm fighting to survive and to return home,"

"I want to take the [Don't Die] quest very seriously,"

This was the choice I made so that I will witness the smile on their faces as I returned home with a considerable chunk of cash with me.

I will take good care of them and make sure they never suffer for as long as I shall live.
