04. Celestial Elves'Survival Game.

"It appears we are to do something in this prison for a hundred days, and I'll be living with various kinds of miscreants from across the globe," I murmured silently.

Although this was just my assumption. I can't say I know what's going on here and why I'm thrown into this facility with men from all over the world.

The one who tripped me down a few moments ago seemed to be German when I heard him speak.

The other one who grabbed hold of my orange might be American.

"But what is the point in bringing all these criminals to this prison in the first place,"

When I arrived, I noticed the CCTV camera stationed around every corner of the facility, with a loudspeaker placed right beside every one of them.

"Why is the prison facility set up like this?" I sighed wearily.

"I better take a nap,"

My head began to hurt, and I thought it would be better to take a nap before we were summoned to do any chores.

I heard some inmates earlier talking about whose turn it was to wash the toilet and stuff like that.

Just right when I was about to take a nap.

A soothing melody was heard from the loudspeaker.

The loud chatter of other inmates muted down immediately, and later I began to hear them yawn as though they were about to sleep.

"Do you guys experience this every day?" I tried to ask my cellmate, but he was still too preoccupied to reply to me.

"Zzz…"

Soon, I began to yawn like everyone else.

"Wait a minute. I think it is the music.....Zzz....." Everything turned dark.

....

"Huh? Where are we?" The voice of an inmate woke me up from my sleep.

"Hey!! What is this?" Another yelled in the background.

"Where am I?"

"What is the meaning of this?" Another protested.

I opened my eyes to see myself lying on the floor, which wasn't even a floor, to begin with.

"Water?" I uttered.

Everyone was standing on the water in what looked like the center of an ocean.

"What the f*** are we doing here?!" I turned around to see the German yelling out his thoughts.

'Wait!! I can understand what he's saying?' My eyes widened in shock.

Some players around me had also figured out they could understand those they couldn't before.

"What in the h.e.l.l is going on?" I asked, staring at the vast blue sky above us.

I bent down to see if my hand could be submerged in the water, and it could.

"But yet no one is drowning?" I was amazed by what was happening.

No matter how I moved, ripples were formed wherever I stepped on.

___

Suddenly, a huge holographic image of a man with pointed ears stood in front of us.

The hologram appeared to be at a height of 5 meters at least.

The Elf wore a green, majestic robe with intricate designs of various phoenixes and dragons adorning it.

Aside from his pointed ears, the glittering dragon-like scales glowing on his hands and at the side of his face made it a bit confusing for me to know if he was an Elf or something else.

Silence reigned as everyone was confused by what was standing before them.

[Humans!!] The elf roared in a deep, husky voice.

[I am General Zhang. An elf from the proud race known as the Celestial Elves. For millennials, we've reigned supreme as the destroyer of worlds and the conqueror of the universe. Now we are bored and deserving of a means of entertainment. Every one hundred years, we select a world from across the universe to participate in a game called 'THE CELESTIAL ELVES' SURVIVAL GAME', ]

"Wait a minute!!" Someone yelled. He wasn't right beside me, but I could see and hear him from where I stood even though I knew he was pretty far from where I was.

"How is this possible?" I wondered.

"Why do I have to participate in this game? And what happens if I don't want to?" The inmate asked the General.

[You die.]

"That was a surprisingly quick response,". Someone muttered from behind me.

"That's bull****!! No matter what you say, I'm still not interested in this useless game of yours," The inmate retorted.

[Very well. You have made your choice.] General Zhang replied.

The body of the inmate's began to glow, and the rest of the inmates surrounding him decided to take a cautionary step backward.

But the laughter of the inmate in question made them a bit confused.

"Haha..... I knew I could go back. Later losers! I hope you have fun because I ain't staying here with you lot. This place gives me the creeps, "The inmate cackled. Then his body began to change in color, glowing from a bright yellow to a horrendous red.

"Argh!!! Make it stop!! Make it stop!! I take it back!! Please, I would rather not die!! Please…."

Right in front of everyone, his body began to melt as though he had been tossed into a pot burnt in an inferno.

His flesh, bones, and clothes all melt, leaving behind a puddle of crimson blood smearing across the surface of the water he once stood.

[With that out of the way. Will anyone else like to leave the game?] The General asked.

No one responded or raised their hands.

I'm certain everyone else had a vivid image of what currently happened, regardless of how far they were from the dead inmate.

[Very well. If no one else wants to go home, then we will proceed to the next phase.]

[It's time for you all to know the what and the why of your being in the game, ]
