Ray went quiet after saying all this, then lowered his face.

For some reason, he felt so empty inside after doing something that he shouldn't be sorry for.

But it appeared as if he was having an inner conflict after slaughtering Alfred.

"Miss Erika." Finally, he called out.

"Yes," Erika responded, still feeling saddened about what Ray had done since she never thought that a pure angel could even do something like that.

In her case, in the time she spent in the Land Of Honour, she only saw the positive sides of angels.

No comments on deities since they were arrogant from the very start.

"Since your power is back, I think you can take care of the remaining chaos here."

Ray suggested and gazed back at Alfred's body, which had started turning into ashes, as he requested, "I need some time to be alone. I hope you understand."

"Sure, I understand." In a low voice, Erika nodded but didn't manage to look Ray in the eyes.

"Thank you," Ray responded solemnly, and then he fled away towards the dorm.

Erika gazed at him and sighed deeply, muttering, "Revenge can even corrupt a pure angel, I see."

Then, a bitter smile crossed her face, and she added, "I just hope you'll stay safe, Eden."

She wished for his well-being since she knew that revenge could only lead to a miserable end.

*Swoosh*

Ray snapped his fingers, and a gust of wind wiped the blood from his clothes, making them pristine again.

"System, teleport me to a safe place."

He requested, and soon he vanished in mid-air and unexpectedly reappeared in his dorm room, but luckily, not as Ray Night but rather as Eden White since his dress changed back to his ordinary one.

Sigh!

Eden sighed in relief after noticing that he was alone in the room.

He shifted his gaze to the left, towards the window, and noticed Emilie, still looking outside the fight but no longer trying to break the shield.

*Thud*

In the next moment, he rested on his bed and gazed blankly at the ceiling.

"I'm feeling so tired for some reason."

He mumbled, and his eyes began to shut due to exhaustion.

It seemed like 'Ashen Reborn' had consumed most of his energy in that final attack.

"Ding!"

Nevertheless, just as he was about to fall asleep, the system clanged, reporting,

[Sorry to disrupt your sleep, host. But you've unlocked some skills. What about you hear about it first, then sleep?]

Sigh!

Hearing the system's testimony, Eden sighed and replied, "Go ahead."

"Ding!"

[Congratulations! You've unlocked 2 new skills this time as well as gotten a level up for an old skill!]

The system clanged, reporting,

[New Skill:- Life Force Assimilation—A rank.]

[New Skill:- Celestial Teleportation—B rank.]

[Life Force Assimilation:- This skill will allow you to collect and absorb the life force of any being, and you can use it in any way you want.]

"Hmm? Hold up."

Hearing about this skill, Eden interrupted, asking, "Say, system. Isn't it the same skill that Ary Inochi used?"

"Ding!"

The system replied, adding,

[Ary Inochi used it to absorb the energy of his surroundings along with his own energy to attack his opponent.]

[But you can use it not just for attack but for any other means as well.]

"Well, I couldn't deny this. He's indeed something." Eden laughed a little, remembering Ary Inochi.

He continued,

"I don't know how he'll be doing out there since I haven't gotten in touch with him for hundreds of years, but I hope to meet him someday."

Then he shook his head and commented, "Anyways, enough about Ary. Tell me about this second skill now."

"I understand." Eden nodded, then shifted his gaze towards the window, asking, "So, which skill has levelled up?"

The system reported and continued,

[Also, it seems like you've forgotten about the task, host.]

"?!" Suddenly, Eden's eyes burst open after remembering the task of gaining victory over the White Devil Organization.

"Oh, shit!" He jumped off his bed and commanded, "System, hurry up and disguise me again!"

[No need.]

The system responded, and before Eden could even react by asking 'Why?!,' the system added on,

[You've already defeated the main root of the problem. What's left is just a mess to be cleaned up, and the Elite Dragon is handling it. So, fret not.]

Eden let out an 'oh,' after realizing that the system's words made sense.

Then, he shifted his gaze towards the system as his lips curled into a smile. He requested, "Then, my one million points? You'll have to give me that, right?"

[Obviously, host, and what's with this smug smile? Are you sure you're sane? Because I feel like your greed for points has started messing up with your brain circuits.]

The system clanged, responding,

[Well, as a reward for thwarting the plan of the White Devil Organization, you've been given one million points. Congratulations.]

[Also, since you've killed many divine humans during your assault, you've achieved the title of "Cold-hearted Divine Killer!]

"Ugh…well, thanks, I guess."

Eden averted his eyes, a sense of awkwardness settling in as he became aware that he indeed ended up killing around more than hundreds of divine humans, if we exclude Alfred and Regan.

But then he blinked as he realized something.

He shifted his gaze to the system, inquiring,

"Oh, and what about the mysterious reward you'd mentioned back then?"

[Yes, there is an unknown reward for you, and it is divided into two parts.]

The system responded, continuing,

[First, you're now allowed to use a divine detector. It'll help you detect any deity you desire.]

"?!" Eden was left stunned after hearing this, as he gulped the saliva down his throat, asking, "Are you serious?"

[Yes, I am. Now, the second one allows you to copy any divine energy and make it your own.]

The system replied.

"You mean…"

[Yes.]

The system commented, cutting off Eden's words, adding,

[Take a look at yourself.]

"Huh?" Eden let out a confused response as a dark blue aura surrounded him.

It appeared to be the opposite of divine water, more likely dark water.

"Divine water? No, wait. It's different. It's like…like dark energy."

Eden mumbled while touching his palms and looking around his body.

[That's right, host. As I promised you, this is the dark energy, the one that holds power greater than divine energy.]

The system clarified it, but Eden didn't seem to find it easy to just accept it.

"But how could it be?"

Eden tilted his head with a perplexed as well as uneasy expression, responding,

"Dark energy indeed holds power greater than divine, but it's supposed to be extinct, isn't it? The Divine Existence himself put an end to this wrecked power!"

[True, but just so you know, if you manage to nullify the divine presence in your energy and revert it back with dark force, it'll become dark energy. It is just a complicated process, but not impossible.]

The system clarified, trying to calm Eden.

"...I see," Eden responded, lowering his gaze. It appeared as if the system's attempt to calm Eden had finally worked.

"So, it means I can absorb their divine energy and make it my own dark energy, correct?"

Eden inquired while looking down at the ground.

[Correct.]

The system confirmed.

"I see!" Eden responded, and his lips curled into a smile.

"I see…hehe…I see…" Shortly, he started giggling, and soon, "I see, I see, I see, I see, I see, I see," he started laughing like a lunatic while repeatedly saying "I see" in his laughter.

Then, placing his right palm to cover up his face, still laughing, he commented, "You're really a great help system."

His voice was sharp, as if his laughter had affected his vocals, as he remarked while gazing at the ceiling.

"The show hasn't ended yet, you divine bastards!"
