Celebration of life: Beyond Veiled Boundaries

From one world to another, the working cogs of the afterlife have suited the souls within those worlds. Slightly beyond the sight of living people is a system of order that keeps all in check. Away from worlds of magic (as was in the previous books), here is a world as we know it. But peel back the laws that prevent the living among the dead, befall a strange way of life for one individual. In all honesty: this 132 chapter book is more the removed sections of another. This is a very broken long draft, I would actually not have this one in paper copy. But the elements of this book are basically for 'Shroud Over Their Eyes'. Welcome to my headache of untangling this multiverse.

12 - Onward on the spun threads

"Nothing new in the mail today. A post card from my Mom's family that is vague and short. A letter from the embassy asking in regards of my care and financial situation. Not one but twelve new mail orders from clients." She neat stacked his mail that is unopened, "You better be breathing or I will force you." Gale gasping in to fast remembering to breath and pats in his chest in coughing. She pats his shoulder in making him sit up from the sofa. She also passed over a bought water bottle that was unopened. Not facing him, he opens the bottle and drank it all. She nods at being glad his fine and moved around to the kitchen off from the living area. She whisked up an egg with sandwich meats torn in, pan fried and delivered to a plate. She turns only a moment to clear the pan and in turning back, the omelet is already half devoured. Gale waving his burnt hand and trying to cool his burnt mouth. She shook at how simple it could have been to use a fork and to cool the food down in smaller bites. She leans in how he wanted more, leading to posing about being out of eggs.

"I take it that the eggs that were in the pther box are gone off?" He tuts and she nods a lot, "I should get a delivery sorted then." He mopes.

"Or maybe go shopping like a person and pick your own fresh eggs." She shurgs, "Maybe then we can try some new foods then just eggs or sandwiches." She crossed arms, "Its not like stir fry or pasta bake is hard to do. Even when making mistakes its still edible with the right ingredients." Gales eyes light up with the sudden joy of hearing she cooks.

"Yes. All of that! Here." He patters about himself, "My pins on the back of the library card." She looks at him like he was crazy.

"And I have what sort of budget?" She asked slowly in taking his wallet, "Seriously what sort of toilet paper do you prefer?" He shurgs, "Landry?" She asked and he pointed under the sink. She looks at how space cleaning products are here. She glad that he uses high end dish soap for his dish cleaning. He isn't a dirty or slob. He just doesn't know what to use to clean stuff easier with.

"No wonder you don't have a spice rack." She sighed, "You have the lifestyle of a university student." She closed the sink door, "I feel so bad for you house maid."

"How did you know that?" He muffled.

"You don't own a vacuum but your carpets are grime free. Your towels are all folded neat in size stacks and the hand soap dispenser is always half empty."

"He has one the robot vacuums that goes off at around 2am and finishes the down stairs by 5am." Rope leans at the counter looking at the plate of what was egg, "Can I have some next time too?"

"Ugh... sure." She sighed, "You are seriously going to just trust me with your card?" She really asked, "Are you crazy?"

"No, but I wanted to use this as a sort of test. I actually do want you to go out there and have some moderate amount of fun. I don't think you go crazy but even if you do, I will know better next time."

"Well frist off." She picked only a tenner out. She checked the pin number and took the card. She returns his wallet back, "I don't want your whole wallet. I have the tenner as emergency. I don't plan on spending anymore then 40 maybe 50 at a push." She puts the money into the back of her phone case and the card into her own wallet, which has card reading prevention.

Gale seems to have an off eye twitch, not only did he noticed her phone was an old model and that she had a pay as you go Sim. The way she was restrict to spend hardly anything. No that she had already considered a budget. He had to close his eyes and consider what he does know about her and the family she considered close to her.

"Be back before dark and please... hire a taxi." She blinks at the undertaker.

"This isn't America. I can literally walk 13 minutes there." She waved her left hand the direction, "I will be back here as soon as possible. Avoid the idiots out there." She checked the time, "The school bus will drive by in 4 hours." She pockets her phone away, "I just remembered that my nice praise was burnt." She sighed annoyed of all the other things burnt, "I can't wait to start having some money for rebuying things."

"You literally have his bank card." Rope is confused.

"And I am not going to go Bra shopping and put that in his bank records. How much scandal can he get? I should move out at soon as possible." Gale blushed red of how straight to the point that is and Rope had to think about this for a moment, "Besides, I hate being given charity. It's never free or without some sort of problem attached."

"At least treat yourself a little." Rope pointed at her. She sighed and left the room. Gale knocked his head twice to the counter. She was up stairs a short while changed to a cute outfit and was right out the door, taking a spare key from the side. She stays fully alert and focused crossing to the side slip way, a cut route to the high street. Rope watched from the window, even long after she was out of veiw.

"Forget seeing her like a silver spoon feed brat. What I looked into about the legal things you asked about. Like her status as an immigrate and the burdens her parents had living here." Rope took out a thick file of several photo copied versions of all sorts of paper trails. He held it tight, "Her mother and her made a wise choose living here." Finally letting it go over to Gale, "The Fallown side has been in hardships and debt for generations. They were originally being extorted by the Seers due to intermarriage. But when money stopped being handed over, the Seer took other payments. Blame of crimes went to the Fallowns that were puppet mobs to crime. Used as scapegoats and jailed wrongful for crimes."

Gale shurg at the amount of paper there, hopeful that this was all. Rope shook at how this wasn't even all of it. Gale didn't have the stomach to open the long thick file of files. Folders of each member on the America soil under the name Fallown. He put the file to the counter and took the plate to wash. To the drain board. He know he will need to read the file eventually.

"What is interesting is that her mother's father was a turning point for them. The man was a respected cop, that he was a veteran returned from the Civil wars. Whatever that man did out fields made the Seers stop contact with them. Stopped all the long history spiraling chaos. He worked hard and was nearly freed the whole family from the last of the debate." Rope sighs, "The downside was that he was too good a grandfather to the grand children. Not all the good things about him passed down enough to carry on his legacy. The last bit of the debt fold to a nurse and two daughters. The nurse didn't earn enough to pay the last debt, they barely afforded a funeral and the frist born daughter was fooled into having a child with a Seer. A fake promise that her family debt wouldn't matter. When Luna was born, the lie was seen through. They made it every effort to avoid the Seers at frist. Her biological father kept it all secret or was just so drunk for that one night stand, he might have forgotten. As Luna aged and her powers Awaken as a Seer, there was some attempt for some help. Of course all ruined and shamed. Her mother was one of many women that claimed to have his children ans was lumped in as fake."

Rope tilts at being suddenly silent, recalling back to how he came about the later information. He was aware of not to spoil to much. Gale over looks it for now and gathered the energy to this grilling hurtful task.

"I take it that someone on the supernatural side looked into this too." Gale takes the file off the counter and takes through to the living room. He sits down ignoring there being others here. He almost went to open it when he gets this was too long a pause from Rope.

"Its more and more complicated." Sliding a look up to the private men to the current monarch, "We began meddling because the child was prime use to make into a double agent. Eased some burdens of the family but ultimately changed no outcomes that should be. The issue for us was that they got to smart and moved across the ocean. Leaving from our responsibility of care. Lost time with her and her mother."

The group made themselves comfortable around, some few turned on the court board projector. The one guy took the file from Gale and made it into a digital map over the court board instantly. Gale made glance of just how horrific the crimes against her family was.

"In the end, she was altered by her title of book keeper. She herself was made aware of to much more then we can handle." They pulled a third and fourth court board, repeated human times with all the different adapted changes.

"So we cut ties, hoping that with how human time reverses..." The one in charge sits at the arm of the sofa, "Mistakes were made. Her soul was tortured by all sides. I can't blame her soul leaving this universe. Her wrap sheet among the afterlife crashed to many times for us to know the full extent of whatever she did. Only she will ever know what she did outside the known boundary we mark as living and death."

"While her soul was MIA. We found out so much more. It was all the mistakes we should have never put her though. But equally made things worse for things ahead too. She wasn't able to be reborn several times and there was a few times that she refused to be reborn at all." They all stood looking at the webs of trails, "She came back for some time, trying to undo all the events of crimes pushed on the Fallowns. She did it behind our backs and used us too. Although touché, we were using her too."

They all sighed collectively in a grievances they all know. Gale raised brow and posed about this ex partners deal.

"At that lifetime, she took a partner undertaker. His current chained in the lower dungeons for private business." The partner of the guy in charge speaks up and was to mad to finish it.

"He earned the name slayer of Monarchs. He was so loyal until she changed him. The chaos he made, we had lost so much between since the last time we were in this position. The ex-left hand for 8 Monarchs. Half were gone from normal things. Two he slain by his hand. One was found dead and he was blamed for it. The last monarch... well that was a coop de gra. We imprisoned him for the blame." Easy spoken a relaxed lady by the window looking out to the world of living beyond. Gale was more confuse of why the history lesson yet he stares at the board of crimes. There was direct mirror of how her family of Fallown to the way the 8 Monarchs died. A creep concedes or...

"He was directly the cause of the manipulations, undoing her work for justice and family honour." The leader posed closed hands, "He was about to the point of murdering his living partner which to us it illegal. He refuses to speak why he went to that extreme. He isn't aware of why we know what his hide."

They all leaned frustrated for the next parts.

"Her soul went MIA again when time reversed for the living world again. We can only guess it was the prime moment before she drew last breath, given her name was half written into the death record for that time space." The partner of the leader picked up again. Gale nods following since there was a point of what her partner hide and why her name was half written down in the dead record. Why her soul went missing another period. Gale is a smart man himself and he raised thought about the current trial woth god slayers and groups of random seven. Knowing from being at the judge table they had to also consider that indirectly related deaths that followed the trail. The off connection of why spines were pulled out and feed through the intestines.

"The being that clearly was using the tome she had to kill lives. Chasing her and it would seem her ex partner. He can't be the one with being locked in chains in a locked realm." Rope pats Gale for figuring this out to this extent.

"And there is more bad news in making things urgent." The held faces and the held posed of others. This was breaking news to the whole team, "Now her Biological father is MIA. Her parents are MIA souls. The Seers claim that one very important tome on the collection they are looking after had gone missing." The music of slamming hands and angry tones.

"She changed too. During the trial. When she didn't go for the human called breaks. She was rooted to the seat the whole time. She broke down mentally and had to leave early after her private testimony." Gale voiced with someone making notes, "I am not sure if the change stayed or that she adapted to it." Gale sighed, "She has no human freinds left and I just sent her shopping alone."

"With full access to your account and nearly your whole wallet. She was decent to take only the card and as she calls the emergency tenner." Rope shook at how bad this could be for them.

"The girl street wise. The less on her the better." The lady at the window leans to something about the window sill, rubbing it seems dust or something. She samples a bit into a little plastic bag and pocket it.

"She didn't bring ID nor does she pen any fake ID." A partner from upstairs came down, "And..." Held a plastic bag of the same sort of dust, "We have only really started learning about looking for these sorts of things recently."

"Our training at other kingdoms has provided new ways of evidence gathering and some specialized research information." The lady posed the pouch she just made up from the window, "So it's her."

"For a soul in so much misery, she would have to be double or even triple cursed." Gale getting left out again. Rope sighed unsure to explain this.

"Living humans like you can see layers we can't. We need you for this reason, Windmiller." The leader of the team takes out a photo, "Here's a simple test of what we mean."

Gale takes the photo, his very much being creeped out by the nature of the family photo. All living and dead members of one generation of people. The leader of this generation holds a torn leather book at their chest. The faces all masked the same ways. It is obvious to see how they can be viewed as a cult. He hands it back with the unpleasant expression.

"According to the old notes from Tricky's partner. She is able to see what you do. That they were all wearing or holding masks. That her father." Pointed to the leader in the photo, "Is holding the book that has gone missing." Gale has goosebumps, "We can't see these masks and we can't see or access the tome in question. Not even gods. The title of the book is a guarded secert that only past holders or the current holder knows." Gale tried to look but he shook, "Its fine. That's not important to what we need. You need to find where her mask is or if she has one at all."

"She's clearly injured in some soul capacity, this dust... its created by cursed folks that are dying or breaking." Gale is pale of now having to rationalize he took on a dying person which might not even be aware of her problem.

"Its much worse then we can likely fathom." The stirring of a different person, the man among the five women that was witness of her testimony. He crossed arms and sits at the floor, "She literally was crying tears that melted the holy wood table. The mask she was wearing of wood to protect her identity."

"It was so bad that the cold hearted man killer gave the girl a poker card." His partner is the undertaker named Lipstick, "I have never seen my fellow industry worker have such honesty and warmth to a stranger before." Applying Lipstick when she finished speaking, "What did we do with the wood mask she was wearing?" Clicked the compact mirror down in a sweep.

"Our king has it in his private office. Fear that whatever her tears had done to the wood might have made it dangerous to use."

Gale sits back with looking at the boards and the sort of problem with all this stuff. He came to pass the thought that both her dead parents had not paid enough for this amount if hassle. While yet she seems to have a sixth sense and predicted she had to leave this house sooner then later. She was willing to brave facing boarding school and maybe her reluctant to spend money was part of this awareness.

"She just has to wait out two school years before she a legal adult for this country. I don't know her financial situation but maybe she could have enough for a one bed room place."

"In living money, no." The throw of a hair pin to the holographic paper, "But she rich in wealthy favours to some big names. She could always exploit them for gain. She has enough to get by for a wanderer as both living and dead." Gale gets up to look at how every penny was exactly just enough to pay off the Seer extortion debt. Not a penny less and not a penny more. She not going to be able to live with anything.

"The businesses her mother was making candles has liquidzed in that debt too. The pensions. Savings accounts. Every last penny." Gale frowns at knowing some these account numbers. He knows that breaching data with mixing clients will ruin him later. But she is literally going to be homeless. He stands rubbing of what he can do anything to make things easier. Yet this is the work of spirits. He know whatever he does this moment will lash back.

"I know. I already used your ledger to back check." Rope sighed, "Makes you wish she would just make the most of spending the money on your card."

"Sadly the girl doesn't have that nature. She wouldn't consider buying a car."

"She can't even get a license to drive in this country."

Here they all are pouting a wall of bad things, all the chains all tightly strangling what little of a future she has to look forward from.
