The Favour

she picked up the card. it was light and sleek black with numbers etched on it in golden. a thought filtered through her head and she made rushed to get her phone from her bedroom. once there, she quickly dialed the number.

the bell ringed.

once.

twice.

thrice.

and then a deep, masculine voice rebounded in her ear.

"Phantom."

Francessa knew he could get hear breathing but he didn't say more as if waiting for her to say something. suddenly spooked, Francessa ended the call and gulped. what was she even think it dialing some random ass number? if she knew one thing about Alkesander after her brief interaction with him that he was a dangerous man. someone she didn't ever want to 've in the same room again. her shoulders sagged in realization that she had no idea what she was doing and she might just be playing in some one hands for all she knew.

she immediately regretted the call and berated herself for her impulsive actions and trusting the words of a stranger. she shoved the car in the drawer by the bed and as she walked into the bathroom to take a warm shower, She had no idea how her little move has garnered the attention of somebody who was going to change her whole definition of dangerous forever.

....

after her meeting with the head of a new security firm, Francessa signed the deal and was on her way to the company's head quaters when she noticed the tense expression of her body guard. his alert eyes were siwelling to the side mirror at an alarming speed and it was then Francessa realized something was terribly wrong and her heart sank.

"what happened?" she demanded in a small voice. her senses clouding by a nauseating feeling.

her bodyguard have her a grim look and shook her head as if they were in big trouble. and the were.

"Someone is tailing us. No, there are three SUVs in total." Francessa whipped her head back and her eyes widened. her heart began hammering against her ribcage. the memories of the attack were still tender and fresh and the possibility of another had bike rising in her throat. her hand instinctively went for the belt buckle as her training of years began to flash in her head. she would free the buckle and crouch down behind the passenger seat with her hands above her head to avoid whiplash or in case they decide to gun done her vehicle.

it was as if her cursed luck was back for the taste of her fear as the car began to cut through the eerily deserted highway with no vehicle in sight. it was odd and she didn't have a good feeling about it. a dull thud resoumded and she jerked in fright. the sound of the bullet all too familiar. her bodyguard twisted himself on the seat, his movements fast and precise and spine about his years of experience in dealing with such situations but before he could roll down the window and aim a target at their relentless pursuers, her hand shot out and grabbed his hand. when he gave her a questing look, she shook her head. confused he whispered yelled.

"what are you doing?"

"Dont. Don't shoot for the same of me. it will only cost you your life." The bodyguard have her a strange look. he didn't know the turmoil brewing with in her or how the deaths of two people still held her in its vice grip or how she didn't want another death on her consciousness. he gently removed her hand and replied curtly.

"It's my job to protect you, Miss Ducate." he gave her a fierce look and Francessa knew the man was too invested with his risky profession and she could do nothing but hide behind his seat. this horrified her and she shut her eyes close just before she saw him roll down the window and stick his gun out.

pop!

pop!

the sound of firing in retaliation sounded and somewhere in the chaos the pursuers took down her other car of bodyguards which was following her and now one of the SUV was side by side to them and in one swift motion they hit her car to the right and she was thrown forward. she watched through the haze that her bodyguard was bleeding now and tears polled in her eyes. another carrier of her pursuers was to their left with her car in the middle and Francessa knew she was done for. this time it was really over for her and she didn't even want to think about what was going to happen to her.

her car stopped, the driver and her bodyguard were deathly still and unmoving. she quickly swalloed a pained sob and made a move to open the door. it was better to run then to wait for the enviable. but the door was wrenched open from the outside and a rough hand dragged her out kicking and screaming.

she couldn't breathe. maybe this was the price for being t the top. for having so much so that you have nothing to desire and want for. but it was wrong. it couldn't be any more wrong. she wished she was a girl with a middle class family living a normal life with dreams and goal she had to fight and work for and not this life of privilege that took everything she lived from her. and now her life too.

she was roughly dragged to one of the waiting SUV by a big, muscular man. his head was shaved and an ugly scar ran the length of it. his eyes were small and they were cold and unmerciful as he shoved her inside.

Francessa started trembling and she watched in horror as some other goon jumped inside after her. his gaze raked over her and he gave her a menacing grin when she pulled her coat closer.and whimpered in disgust.

"Stop it, Tito."A man from the front seat warned. it didnt matter that he was a fairly good looking man. the coldness in his tone made her shiver. Titi grunted beside her and dared grab her slender wrist.

"Isn't she a pretty little thing." Francessa didnt know what snapped in her maybe being sandwiched between two scary looking men awakened her claustrophobia or the dreadful lust in Tito's eyes becaude the next movement was into his bulky frame and punching, I and screaming. something took over her dangerously close to a survival instinct. she was ready to be killed but the thought of getting defiled shook her whole being. she was going to fight and she will die fighting. Tito was gone from beside her and the man from the front seat was beside her. she didnt even realize that the man beside her was holding her firmly. all she could see was the injection and the pickling sensation over her neck. her hands were bound behind her back but even if she wanted to move her couldn't. the drug too effect fast and hard and her whole body went slack. she wanted to scream but no sound escaped her lips and she fell straight to the front seat man's lap. tears leaked out of her eyes and soaked his cargo and she could do was blankly state at nothing before everything blacked out.
