CHAPTER 13

FIVE DAYS LATER

Casabella's POV

It was one of those sunny days where I was sent to get groceries for the first time in a long while. It's a fun thing, I don't get bored when asked to shop instead I do it with utmost joy and love it so much because I get to see people busy with their own activities and enjoying their lives with freedom unlike me.

I don't get the freedom to make friends but I did make some back in London during my university days but I lost contact with them and none knew where I lived but knew my country.

I was going to the same mall where I got my uncle his favourite wine. I dressed up in a simple white short flawless dress and put on the black slippers I received recently from my uncle and headed to the living room.

I met Lora in the living room busy streaming with her phone unconcerned of my presence.

"I'm off to get the grocery." I spoke out but she didn't respond so I just found my way out.

As usual, the driver was waiting for me in the car so I hurried and got into the car and greeted him before he drove out of the mansion.

After a long drive, we stopped in front of the mall since the parking area was filled up but the security at the door was heavily loaded with hefty men in black with bold faces.

"What could have made them load the entrance with bodyguards?" I thought to myself and proceeded to the entrance, leaving the driver behind.

"Good morning Miss." One of them greeted me with a thick voice which made me shiver in fear.

"Uhm... good morning." I responded almost instantly.

"What's in your basket?" Another one with a scar across his left eyes asked.

"It's just a piece of paper with the list of items I want to get." I answered, handing the paper to him.

"Okay. You can go in." He stated handing back the paper to me while the first bodyguard who greeted me opened the door for me.

Gosh! My heart almost jumped out of its position with the way he asked the question.

I walked in and headed to the grocery section and began to pick the items at a time and drop it inside the basket.

After picking up all the groceries, I was heading to the counter to pay for everything when a firm body of a man came in contact with mine making the basket drop off with most of the groceries getting spoiled.

"Can't you watch where you're going mister?" I disclosed.

"I'm really sorry, miss." He responded and began to help me pick the good ones into the basket.

What should I tell that witch called Lora now? She's probably going to tell my uncle and the least he would do is yell at me.

I also don't know what this stranger was thinking and had to bump into me.

"I'm sorry once more, miss. You don't have to worry about anything, I'll pay for the damaged groceries. I'm sorry to have bumped into you." He responded politely.

"Thanks. I'll pick up the groceries again." I stated and head to pick the groceries that got damaged as the strange man who looks like a wealthy man insisted on helping out.

"So what's your name, if I may ask?" He asked, dropping two tomato sauces into the basket.

"And why should I tell you when I don't know you?"

"I mean no harm, miss. I just want to know your name?" He insisted.

"Fine, I'm Casabella."

"That's really a rare and beautiful name you got with such beauty. I'm Jace by the way."

"Thanks." I replied and picked the last item and turned to him.

"It was nice knowing your name and thanks. I can take it from here."

"Alright Miss Casabella but at least let me follow you to the counter so I can pay for the damaged groceries." He said, with a light smile which makes him look cute.

He's 6 inches tall, skinny with blackish hair colour and grey eye colour.

Okay, let go." I stated after a while and proceeded to the counter while he trails behind.

"I'd like to clear these groceries." I uttered to one of the female staff taking out all the groceries out of the basket.

"You have to pay for the damaged ones earlier, first." She responded, sounding rude.

"I'll pay for that, not her. Here's my credit card." Jace replied before I could and gave me an apologetic look.

"I'm done , here you go sir." She stated, handing back the credit card to him and added, "you can pay for this now."

"Sure, I will but try not to get bitchy sometimes around customers or you're going to get yourself fired." I announced and fling my uncle's credit card to her.

"What's that supposed to mean, miss?" She huffed.

"I mean, learn to speak to customers in a nice and polite manner, not rudely like a bitch."

"Watch how you talk to me miss or I'll have the guards show you the way out."

"Ladies please, can this argument die down." Jace cut in before I could give her a dreadful reply.

She's really lucky he had to interfere, I would have given her the rightful words she needs to hear for speaking rudely to someone like me. I'm sure she's probably of Annie's age, that rude spoiled brat.

"Here you go and I do hope to never see your face in this mall." She argued, handing the credit card back to me.

"You're going to be seeing my face more often and you won't be able to do a thing." I stated picking up the basket and walking away.

She wished. She should pray I don't cross paths with her again because what I am going to do to her will be priceless.

"Wait up miss Casabella." The Jace guy called out as I walked outside the mall.

What does he want this time? Can't he just pretend we never bumped into each other and let me go my way?

"Yeah, do you need something again? I thought you already paid for the spoiled groceries and apologised, so what else do you want from me?" I turned to him, really pissed off.

"Cool a bit Casabella. I mean no harm, okay. I want to give you a lift to show how sorry I feel for bumping into you."

"Thanks but I brought a ride with me." I answered and turned around walking towards the car when a black Mercedes Benz car slid to my sidewalk and stopped on my way.

I stood still waiting for the damn person who can't focus on his/her driving.

The door opened with a handsome man dressed in a deep blue suit with his hair curled in a sexy way and his strong cologne hitting my nostril. He looks like a demi god with his looks but he should have watched who was on the way and almost knocked me down.

He just stared at me briefly and took his eyes away as the bodyguards from the entrance rushed to him.

What the fuck man? Not even sorry, his rude attitude is really making my blood boil.

"Hey mister! You almost knocked me down and couldn't even apologise. That's not right." I raged.

I don't care who or what he is. He should have apologised nicely and I'll take that as an excuse but he didn't. First, that stupid staff was rude and now this handsome devil here couldn't even say sorry. My blood is at its boiling point that I can't let this go without an apology from him.

"How dare you call him mister?" The same bodyguard who questioned me when entering the mall yelled but the man shoved him off with his hand and walked towards me.

"You're the same lady who bumped into me at that business party acting so rude. I guess you really don't know who I am. I'm Mark Clinton, the owner of this mall so I have all the right to do whatever I please."

"And I don't give the fuck about it. You almost knocked me down yet the only thing you could say, is you're the owner of this mall like I give a fuck who or what you are."

"Don't get on my nerves like the other time woman. I'll let this slide and I do hope I don't cross paths with such a rude lady like you."

"Same do I." I screamed in his face and walked away while Jace stood there without calling me back.

I simply don't know how some humans could be so rude without home training. He's so lucky, he has bodyguards surrounded, if it wasn't so, I would have taught him a lesson.

I walked to the car and dropped the basket in the booth and hopped in as the driver took off.

I know Lora is going to query me for coming late but I don't give a damn about it.

"It was really one hell of a bad day for me." I sighed and rested my head on the car seat and draped it off to sleep.
