Raelyn knocked on the door, her hand on her hip as she made her legs stand in place but let her waist move in circles. She was tired and it was almost written on her face.

She knocks again when no one opens the door and this time the door opens wide. She comes face to the face with Damon, the man who had become her best friend and only other family seven years ago.

"Hey Rae" he says, a smile on his lips as she enters and he shuts the door behind him

"Hey.. " she says, plopping down on the couch and laying face down on it.

"Rough day Huh? " he asks and she nods repeatedly, sitting up

"I'm so drained" she says running her hand through her hair

"Obviously. You look like a mess" he says and she glares at him

"Bitch, no need to shove it in my face. You think I don't know I look a mess? " she asks and he raises his hand in surrender

"Sorry sorry. Seems work made you cranky" he says and she rolls her eyes, laying down and placing her head on his lap

"Honestly, I'm just really tired. Just..really tired" she says and he knew she wasn't just referring to today's work. She was referring to everything.

She had to pay for her brother's school fees, her house rent, food, and so many other things and she had to do it all by herself. She always said ' things might have been better if I'd went to college and got a degree '. That was the reason why she was determined to sponsor her brother through all levels of education.

"I know... " he says running his fingers through her hair

"You know what happened today? " she asks letting out a yawn "Today, when I went to get some stuff for Joanne, I was on my way back when... " she starts and interrupts herself with yet another yawn but she doesn't stop talking anyways

"When I saw this people in front of an elevator. You know me, being nice and all, I went and offered help, even fixed the elevator for them but you know what that big head said? " she asks adjusting her head on his lap

"No, what did he say? " he asks, his fingers not leaving her hair and honestly she didn't mind at all. She was actually enjoying it.

"He was like ' Who the hell do you think you are? ' that Bitch didn't even say thank you when I fixed the elevator " she says, a yawn escaping her lips immediately after and drawing a single tear from her eye

"You should sleep. You're yawning so much, tears are starting to drop down your eyes" Damon says and she shakes her head

"Nah, I'm not sleepy. I just need to take a bottle of water and I'll be fine. " she says and he rolls his eyes

"Yeah right. You wo..." he says and slowly, to her, his voice mutes down till she can't hear anything again. Her eyes shut and she falls into a fatigue caused sleep.

"You push yourself too hard " Damon says to himself, his fingers brushing the hair from her face.
