22 Prairie's Shame (4)

"Stop right there!" that should alarm both Mu Qing Lang and Yulin at two other spots. Following from that shout is Ka-Ba's voice, which made it clear about who and who got entangled in trouble.

Because Mu Qing Lang has nothing to bring except the Carriage of Immortality, it was easy for him to left his spot. He followed the voice from that scuffle and tracked down Ka-Ba. But the moment he saw this youngster is chased by ten sword-wielding bandits, Mu Qing Lang immediately take action.

He appeared just before the group and through the Taichi movement learned from the morning exercise, Mu Qing Lang slapped their hand to release the weapon in their grip.

When the chance comes, Mu Qing Lang sent his fist straight to the face of the first fighter. That punch delivered him unconscious before understanding what had happened.

Mu Qing Lang fought like an experienced fighter. Elbow, palm, finger, and even fist. Every part of his body is a weapon to bring out the pain. The short window of his appearance throws five fighter unconscious, and two crying out loud due to fractured shoulder plate or hip bone.

"Mighty Lord, please let us go. Please!" the five remaining fighters immediately kneeled and ask for forgiveness. With the descent of the god of death here, who dare to keep going with his little show?

Using a straw woven string, Ka-Ba tied their hands together. On their leg is a string not more than a meter long, tied from one person to another. This is to prevent them from escaping alone. And at the same time, Mu Qing Lang pondered.

"How can I make sure the five of them remain loyal to my camp?" he considered the possibility of their betrayal. And while he's pondering about this topic, Yulin finally found them. The earlier shout and screams stop out of sudden, almost hinting her that the fight has long over.

But the situation is slightly different.

In Yulin's eyes, the possibility of them losing is higher than the opponent. After all, they only have three people on their side and an unknown number of how many enemies they got.

"Alright. Tell me, who's your boss, and how many people in your party?" Mu Qing Lang questioned one of the five fighters. Unfortunately, their lips are too tight to let a voice went through.

He knows. Based on the skills of the group, they must be the members of the Namu's Settlement. The only issue worrying him was their number in this party, and not how many people in their settlement.

"Ka-Ba, Yulin. Bring the five of them back to our camp. Tell Qing Yi and Xiao Qing to make sure none of them unfed, or escaped from us." Mu Qing Lang is decisive. To make sure he's not at disadvantages, the best way to do this will be by sending away his members and hostages and proceed alone.

This way, he can proceed and retreat without something pulling on his leg.

While the duo still gathering the belongings from the five corpses, Mu Qing Lang proceeds. He followed their footsteps further until he reaches a short-grass area. There's six-person camping here by the bonfire, One having a leg of rabbit while the other five shared some dried meat jerky.

This alone tells Mu Qing Lang who is the boss of this party.

He sneaks around stealthily until he's closer to Namu Muli. The latter decides to take a nap after his meal, which was the best chance for Mu Qing Lang to take action.

The moment his first snore came out, Mu Qing Lang charged. One hand on Namu Muli's nape, another holding the copper knife sticking to his throat. One pull is all it needs to let Namu Muli bleed.

"YOU!" the fighters had their weapon out in the open, but with their master's life in Mu Qing Lang's hand, none of them dare to take a step further! Namu Muli's life is just too precious!

"Let go your weapon. Or I will kill this guy." Mu Qing Lang knows that empty threats make no sense. To increase the depth of his intimidation in this situation, Mu Qing Lang moved his knife slightly so blood will start to flow.

"Aargh! Aargh! Kill him! Come and kill him!" the pain made Namu Muli lost his cool. Instead of begging for his life, he vents his rage by shouting and moving his head around.

That caused him to cut open his own throat, after looking down on the sharpness of Mu Qing Lang's copper knife. After all, a knife is a knife, as long it cuts, its a good knife.

Namu Muli jaw dropped, but it couldn't stop the blood flow. The more he struggles, the worst it became. Soon, he took over the spot of a Prairie Horn Rabbit and got his blood out as he desired.

"Master Muli! Master!"

"We're dead!"

The five fighters fallen to their knees and started to shiver... Based on their leader's attitude in handling such matter, it is almost impossible for them to keep their life together with their body.

How about running away from the Namu's Settlement?

That's impossible too. Although the relationship between the three worlds is not that good, it doesn't mean they are open to anyone wished to join them. Each settlement has its own way to evaluates their people, and will not open for escapees.

In the worst case scenario, they might be taken by the settlement. But the meaning of taken equals to being caught is more to a prisoner's tribute. Those caught and imprisoned will be returned to the village they came from for goodwill, such as food, women, or tools will be exchanged.

"I don't want to see myself tortured until Mayue is satisfied. I'll leave all of you first!" one of the fighters took the sword beside him and tried to kill himself. The reason behind this is simply due to fear of Namu Mayue.

"Stop." Mu Qing Lang word made him hesitate.

"Why won't you leave? My Mu's Camp need people like you. What we worried is people that come to bring us back as a slave, but we don't bring people back as a slave. As long you work, you're fed." Mu Qing Lang said.

It is tempting, but at the same time, worrying. Who can make sure that this cultivator before them honor his promises?

"All I want is peace and harmony between the other creature and us. If you have a prejudice against goblins and satyr, you can leave. I won't stop you." Mu Qing Lang said.

"If you have prejudice to people that weren't from the same place as you, you're not qualified too. What I want is people that submit to me voluntarily, without a hint of betrayal for small profits. In return, you will not be mistreated." he added the last winning pitch to gain their favor.

"I'm willing to follow Master Mu." one of them bowed. The other four stares at each other, and bow to Mu Qing Lang.

"Alright! Grab everything useful. We're going back to the camp now and let's enjoy the dinner and an introduction party with everyone. Additionally, I hope you can convince your five friends we caught earlier to submit voluntarily. I hope we can stop pouring the blood on our soil." he added.

"We understand!" the five cooperating well with each another. The group depart and reaches the Mu's Camp at evening.

The fighter's first task is to convince their friends to stop going against the people of Mu's Camp. Added with the atmosphere in this camp, which is cooperative and harmony, they're not all but partially convinced.

That partially is enough for Mu Qing Lang. All he demanded was living together in harmony. He did not request for anything else, such as having them fight for him, or rebel against Namu Mayue secretly. All Mu Qing Lang thinks about is when can he finish gathering all the plants available in this prairie.

That said, he remembered that Ka-Ba was holding two plants in his hand carefully when they're leaving. This fellow will try exchanging it with him later at night.

At their dinner, the ten human members introduce themselves one after another.

Bao Ding, Bao Yun, Bao Tio.

Mumu Yuan, Mumu Ren, Mumu Ba.

Han Xi, Han Yu, Han Mi, Han Nan, Han Yong.

None of them are siblings. Although their name had the same surname, it was because they're given by the Namu Leader or his three wives. The three respectively carries the name Bao, Mumu, and Han.

That night, a straw hut is emptied out for the ten new members to sleep inside. The first thing to do in the morning tomorrow will be dismantling some of the straw barricades to be made into huts. With ten additional manpower, it won't be too much of a task at all.

And catching up to his chances, Ka-Ba went to Mu Qing Lang for the sake of exchanging the two plants into something useful.

But...

"You're the world biggest idiot today."

"This is Iron Tail Grass, we feed that to the Prairie Horn Rabbits daily."

"And this... It's Amber Root! You pluck it on the ten or twelve hours, that's why it's so green!"

"How the hell are you not learning anything at all after helping in the farm for so long? The plants are all basics, man!"
