It’s just before daylight, the dark sky is now with a dull shade of blue. The smell of forest and the gentle breeze made the morning feel brisk.

“Blaire, wake up.” I patted her hair. My voice was low so it wouldn’t wake the others up.

I felt her body move a bit then slowly she sat up to the wall leaning her head to my arm, her hands brushing away the sleep from her eyes. I gave her the moment to fully wake herself before I stood up, her eyes following me.

“Follow me.”

I begun walking away knowing full well she was right behind me.

The forest was still dark yet with the faint blue slowly washing away the night you could see your surroundings. The leaves and grasses were wet from the dew. They held droplets of water which casually reflected the small dull light which shone through the thick lush canopy.
