Cardinal: God Spell

{{Cardinal Stories Book 2}} There once lived a scholar named Sora King, he knew the ins and outs of society as it pertained to magic, he understood and mastered the magic system that ran the world. When it came to magic there was none more knowledgeable than him, because of it he was dubbed the scholar of magic, he taught lessons and discovered theorems helping some of the greatest magic institutions and families gain a foothold. Frankly, he was a shining success in the founding generations, he helped many of history's greatest mages across the world awaken domains and create magic bloodlines that would live well beyond them. In all of his works however, the one thing Sora could never do, His one regret in all of his life, the area he felt he failed himself the most, was that he never bothered to awaken even a basic element. He never gave himself time for love because it would give the many, enemies he made leverage over him to use him for his knowledge. Consequently, he died at the age of 19 as he simply had too many enemies to fend off with just wit and resources alone, he was struck down by the magic spell of his lifelong brother-in-arms at the forefront of war. What surprised Sora however, was the fact that not only was he given a swift death, but he was put further down on the path to reincarnation, Rather than being revived 100 years later where his name would still be very well known, he was revived 1,000 years later in the modern era. His name was still known but there was no chance for him to be recognised or hunted by a vast majority of his enemies. As a plus, he not only kept his knowledge of magic but was reborn into the body of a dead orphan ironically also named Sora. In this life Sora was going to take the path of magic he so neglected till now and make himself one of the greats of history once more, and he planned to do it by breaking all possible records along the way regardless of if he went public with his feats.

Mid Term (FP)- Elite Class showcase

Sora found himself standing out in an open practice ground with heavy sweat pouring down his face, While he wasn't even remotely tired the sun today was horrible, he wasn't wearing anything heavy yet the heat was so inconvenient. He currently stood with 19 other students, only 4 of whom he recognized from his class. He looked at the board on the right of the class showing the list of students in this elite class and the criteria being considered for this display:

To Sora's understanding, this showcase was to establish the initial rankings of the elite class as well as determine how well you would mesh into a squad with elite students from other classes. For now, the whole class was waiting for the teacher of the Elite class to show up, and frankly, even Sora was mildly Taken aback when he saw that there wasn't any single tutor for the elite class.

It turns out that the Elite class consists of 4 5-man squads with a tutor guiding the Squad on missions and tasks given by the school, Their contribution, operation effectiveness, and overall results would then determine the grade of the students within the squad. No matter what the squad tutor would always have the final say on who passed and who flunked out, Furthermore, it seemed that without fail all of the Squad tutors today had the Auras of advanced mages all with at least two elements in the Advanced level. It should be noted that being an advanced mage did not automatically mean that one could use advanced magic and the fact that all the tutors here had not one but 2 advanced-level elements said a lot about the quality of staff the school had.

The four instructors Included a middle-aged man with a large athletic frame wearing a form-fitting tuxedo, he stood at 6 foot 5 with brown tan skin, he had a thick black mutton chops beard and mustache with a pair of deep brown eyes and a hair of medium length black spiky hair. This man was known as Hei-Jin Oh, a well-experienced advanced mage and elite class instructor.

Next up was a silver-haired woman with Ice blue eyes and pale skin that looked to be in her early 20s, she stood at 5 foot 7, had a lean build, and was well endowed sensually even for her age, she wore a snow white ball dress with white gloves that reached her elbows, she had a black ring on her ring finger, a plain white fedora and a silver necklace with cylindrical links and a cross hanging over her large chest, to complete her look she held a white Cain with a door knob for a handle. This was Mu Yerin the youngest Advanced mage in the school as well as the only part-time worker of the academy as she was only here to improve the Mu Dynasty's reputation.

Next up was a nun with light cream skin and emerald green eyes, In Sora's opinion her occupation was ironic seeing how her body was built for nothing sin, but that's beside the point, she stood at 5 foot 8 holding a plain silver staff with no special markings anywhere, this was Sister Ruth, the only foreign teacher in the academy but a student favorite for two very large reasons... I digress... she was older than Mu Yerin but was respected far more for the meagre fact that she was an advanced healer despite only being 25 years old.

The last of all instructors surprisingly enough was Yagi Takada, Sora's homeroom tutor, apparently he was a top-level Psychic mage with a well-developed wind secondary element, even touching into a rarity even among shadow elements for his advanced awakening, the familiar face was at least good for Sora simply because always needing to meet people was a tedious task for Sora, regardless he would find a way to enter Takada's squad, regardless of how unreliable he looked.

The students of the elite class were divided into the elements they awakened, the groups were as follows:

Lightning: Zhu Longwei, Ma Juri, Chen Piso.

Fire: Wei Xiren, Sora, Han Junjie, Wei Mucheng.

Ice: Mu Rina.

Wind: Zhu Tantai.

Light: Jun Quong.

Healing: Marron Lin.

Water: Wei Yilin.

Shadow: Yubin Kang, Mu Xiong.

Space: Ma Quinin.

Plant: Xiao Lubu, Xiao Li, Xiao Feifei.

Earth: Kun Qing, Li Yan.

Sora grimaced internally at the pressure in the air surrounding his group, Why were these Wei daughters so hostile to one another?! Can't you just get along like good family members?! It wasn't an exaggeration to say the tension in the air could be cut with a knife. Sora couldn't be happier when he heard Takada announce the commencement of the class showcase.
