Cardfall Battlefield

"In the legends of old, people told of ancient gods. Powerful beings who did everything. The pyramids? A task by the gods. Stonehenge? A spot to worship the gods. In modern times, gods were simply dismissed as fantasy. We should have payed more attention. Why would an ancient race who invented half the stuff we use, such as Greece, be foolish enough to believe in fake gods? Well, the answer came to all of us. Soon, the sky were filled with blue cards. We learned that there were gods back then, just not in the form we thought." The year is 2050. James Donovan was out on the streets, wondering how life could destroy a person so utterly. When suddenly, blue cards started falling from the sky. At first, this was deemed as unimportant. That was until the first battle broke out. Soon, everyone knew the value of these simple cards. Everyone found out just how deadly these simple cards were. James Donovan was a man used to life cutting him short. With these cards, he wasn't going to tolerate that anymore. Power and wealth was a few games away. All he had to do was win.

The Balzec Tournament Part 3: James vs Quin 2

James watched Quin struggle against the chains for five more minutes before he could draw again. Honestly, James wondered if he was a sadist, because it was quite satisfying to watch Quin struggle against the restraints. James drew his two cards, seeing that once again, one was nigh useless, but the other could actually be of some assistance.

"I use "Traitor's Trick Hand"! This charm allows me to destroy my hand, and then to draw five cards! but the best part is if I also sacrifice twenty health, I can choose five cards from my top ten in my deck!" James said, before doing precisely that.

After throwing his hand away, he pulled the five cards he wanted from his deck. They were all useful for him, finally, but Quin's restraints had also finally ended as well.

"I use the card "Curse Of Beetles", it allows me to summon a copy of one of my destroyed warriors. Sadly, it's weaker than the original, but its effects are the same as the original! I make a copy of "Pharoah of Misfortune!" Quin announced, fear replaced by anger.

A wave a rhino beetles dug up from the ground, slowly coming together before they made the shape the original "Pharoah Of Misfortune". James felt uncomfortable looking at all those crawling beetles in the shape of a man, but shook off the disgust and went to planning. With the original warrior's effect, a single charm he played could be blocked, so he had to be smart about this. He looked at his hand and saw the one charm he picked up for something just like this move.

"I use the charm "Traitorous Dreams"! This charm allows me to call one of the warriors in my deck to the field, as long as it's timer is doubled!" James said, looking confident in his charm.

"Again? I use "Pharoah's of Misfortune's" ability! That charm is destroyed!' Quin announced, while his beetle Pharoah pointed a facsimile of a crook at the card.

The card turned to sand in James's hand, but froze as sand shaped like a card, before blazing brightly and disappearing, while a spike of light and shadow appeared. The shadow spike rammed into the beetle construct, while the light spike rammed into James's deck. James smiled.

"HA! Can't believe you fell for it! When "Traitorous Dreams" is destroyed by an effect, whether in hand or use, it's second ability activates. Instead of calling a warrior with double timer, it lets me call a warrior with it's timer cut in half! And it uses a warrior on your side to cut its timer in half!" James announced triumphantly.

The shadow tendril constricted the beetle construct before crushing it out of existence, before reeling itself in to the light tendril. The light tendril pulled out a card from James's deck, before it disappeared in a flash a light, revealing a scarred woman covered in wooden armor with a large branch shaped like a sword. The timer on top showed a twenty-minute timer before glitching into a ten-minute timer.

"Welcome to my side, "Amaris, The Traitorous Druid"! and she's not the only thing in store for you! I Use the charm "Blood Money"! it allows me to either call another "Traitor" warrior from death, or allows me to destroy a warrior card from my hand and give its strength and health to one of my current warriors! I think I'll go with option two, if you please." James said, pointing to "Amaris"

A shower of gold seemed to sprinkle on the warrior, who for a moment stopped looking serious and got down on her knees, grabbing all the gold she could while also giving a cruel laugh. Chains from the card James destroyed appeared and latched onto the druid, which seemed to make her panic. The chains wound over her neck, while also giving her a steel sword and metal armor. Soon she was so covered that all you could see was her eyes, while the gold coins suddenly looked like they were dipped in blood. The druid slowly got back up, and looked directly at quin, as if she was ready to kill him.

Quin looked at the whole scene stunned. Suddenly remembering that he was in danger, he drew a card and summoned a warrior.

"I call "Tomb's Guardian" to the field!" Quin said, his voice quivering slightly.

A giant stone statue appeared in front of Quin, seemingly immobile, but with a large khopesh and shield ready to defend.

James looked at the stone statue and scoffed. Somehow, it seemed "Amaris" shared the same sentiment, who looked at the statue as if dismissing it. Suddenly, "Amaris's" timer ended, before speeding over to the statue, cutting it into pieces, before whipping a loose chain at quin.

Quin attempted to dodge the attempt, but his leg got wrapped up in the chain, which "Amaris" used to bring him closer. He struggled but was quickly sliced by "Amaris's" sword, which took off 40 health. James gave a sadistic smile.

"Checkmate."

Three more swipes, and James was pronounced the winner. James looked at the bracket. One more battle to go, and he knew it was going to be a tough one. he looked over at Maine, who was looking at James with an intense look. A tough battle indeed.
