Anna could find something else more interesting to busy herself with right now. But, Jake Roswell thought otherwise.

She didn't personally know Jacob's family yet, today, she met them and that was all thanks to Jake's doing.

Anna forced her lips to part into a huge grin, Mrs. Roswell handing her a small plate with a slice of cake. She bakes and the smell wafting around their house was a clear indication of that.

The white frosting allowed Anna to know what flavor it was. Her taste buds instantly recognized vanilla and Anna helped herself in a second bite.

A few minutes earlier, she had stood awkwardly behind Jake while Mrs. Roswell crushed her son in a tight hug.

It turned out that he had been away for almost five years. He only came due to his brother's engagement.

The Roswell's hold a tradition that every engagement should be celebrated by the family. It allows the partner to be known by everyone as well.
