Dating The Wrong Person

He took a deep breath as he entered the hotel lobby where his mother booked a table for him and Li Na. He was holding the bouquet of flowers upside down when he approached the concierge of the hotel to ask for the restaurant reservation.

Apparently, this hotel has three restaurants and he doesn't know which one his mother had a reservation with. He blew another breath of annoyance as he waited for the receptionist to find his reservation in their system.

The poor man fingers shake as he tries to hurry up with his request. He's fierce expression must have scared the hotel employee. Grand's tried to smile at the man to let him know that he isn't mad, but it seems like his smile was misunderstood that instead of feeling at ease the man got more anxious that his sideburn is visibly damp with sweat.

"Take your time, the one I'm meeting isn't that important anyway," he said, flashing the man his infamous cheeky smile.

And it works, the man sighed a breath of relief and his hands went steady in clicking the keys on the keyboard typing his name.

"Your reservation is in one of our VIP room in the Sky Palace, please take the elevator on your right," he said, giving the bellboy a discreet signal to give him an assistant.

He murmurs his thanks and follows the lead of another employee to step inside the golden elevator.

"Welcome to Sky Palace, Sir." the elevator assistant said.

Grand's left eyebrow twitched, giving the man a questioning glance.

The elevator man smiled and said, "This elevator will take you directly to Sky Palace located on the top floor of this hotel." he explained courteously.

Grand didn't reply and just look at his reflection on the shiny golden surface of the elevator and fixed his hair. He needed a haircut, he thought in the soft humming of the elevator machine.

He wants this meetup to be over and done. He has more important things to do with his time.

She's standing in front of the full-size mirror, checking her victorian inspired Channel dress in white with a black ribbon laced in the collar of the dress. She's wearing flat sandals for the first time. She grinned at herself in the mirror thinking what will Bobby think of her being so small beside him.

To compensate for how she looked like a child in her dress, she put heavier makeup than she usually uses, then curled her hair in big waves and put it in a low bun with tresses of hair falling on her face like it was naturally messy.

She was surprised when Bobby suddenly asked him to eat out today. He would usually invite her to go out a day before because he knows that she has a full schedule nowadays. He was insistent with his invitation so she couldn't say no, after all, she asked him for a favor in finding her a driving instructor.

---

She got off the car and told Ting's that he doesn't have to pick her up since Bobby will bring her home. She did a small bow as she stood beside the car before she turned around to head to the lobby of the hotel.

A hotel employee accompanies her to the elevator that will bring her to the restaurant where Bobby is waiting.

He wants to pick her up but she refused. She knows how hectic his schedule is now that his new business venture is in full swing, which also makes her so busy because she has to catch up with the demand for the design of the company merchandise. Ellise advises her to get an assistant to help her, so she won't spend a lot of time with the small task, that she could delegate since she cannot slack off with her piano lessons with Miss Hoffman.

Bobby stood up from their table when she approached, with the waiter ushering her. She blushed and felt uneasy with how Bobby did a slow look of her from head to foot and then back then his heated gaze settled on her face and never left at all, even when she was already seated in front of him. He never uttered a word and just stared at her face.

"Hey," she said, her face burning.

Bobby blinks his eyes like he woke up from a daze. "Damn, sweetheart you look exceptional," he drawled, his voice thick with admiration.

Dana holds her face in her hands, and she could feel how hot it becomes. "You're making me blush," she stated the obvious.

Bobby smirked and signal the server for the menu. When the waiter handed them the glossy menu bound in leather, he said, "Give us the finest wine you have in your wine collection."

"Eh, we're drinking again?" she asked skeptically.

"You can just take a sip, I'll drink most of it," he said winking playfully at her direction.

Still, with reservations, she said, "But you're still driving."

"Sweetheart, let me celebrate tonight. We could just call a designated driver later."

Dana keeps quiet and just let Bobby does what he wants.

"Have you decided what you'll have for your main dish? One of their chefs is a friend, I'd say he knows his way in the kitchen." he laughs softly.

"Is Wu Jui-lien in?" he asked the waiter, who answered him affirmatively.

Bobby took the menu from Dana's hands and gave it to the waiter and told him, "Tell Wu Jui-lien to surprise us."

"Yes, sir." the server bowed politely and excused himself to rely on the chef their order.

"How friendly are you with the chef to have him cook for us?" Dana asked curiously.

"Actually, he is my older cousin," Bobby replied with a small smile, as he poured a small amount of 1811 Chateau d'Yquem into her wine glass.

Dana raised her eyebrows to Bobby as she picked up the wine glass to clinked her glass to the toast Bobby is offering.
