A Girl Like No Other

"Why are you worried about a girl's opinion about your game? Don't you have confidence in your skill?" DT asked in the midst of ruckus of the members when Miss E expressed her opinion.

"If we're talking about skills why don't you show us yours Miss E?" Mantis said, taunting her.

"Then, let's," she said with a poker face.

Mantis smirked at her, "See you on the game floor."

"So, we are keeping the previous plans on players who will play for the opening games at the end of the month," Wan said. "Then let's go to the game floor and watch the game between Mantis and Miss E."

Everyone was shocked that the Big Boss is giving permission for Mantis and Miss E's to have a face-off on the game floor.

While everyone was busy putting a bet on who's gonna win, Grand stood beside Miss E and whispered. "Are you sure about this? Mantis is a long time player in the club representative team."

Miss E, just gave just Grand a glance and asked, "What kind of player is he?"

"He is one of our support attackers. But he is also good in defense."

"Hmm." she nodded.

"Bu the way, I've heard that I will be a member of your team, is that right?"

"It's now yet confirmed, but Mr. Wan said before that you will be in my team since DT doesn't want to."

Ellise got quiet for a long time that Grand got worried and try to cheer her up.

"Don't worry about Mantis, you just play a good game. If they have other things to say let me handle those guys," he said, patting her shoulder.

She raised her eyebrow for Grand misunderstood the reason for her silence. The real reason why she keeps quiet is not that she is nervous about the match later, but because of the one staring at her right now.

So, he doesn't want me to be part of his team, she thought.

"Grand, I want you to watch my game closely and give me feedback."

"O-okay," he said, furrowing his eyebrows with how calm Miss E with the match that is about to happen.

"Let's all go to the game floor, and start the match. It will be a full one on one game. Both parties can attack and defend, the first one who got his or her flag taken losses the game."

Everyone moves to the game floor in excitement. This is the first time they will see the skill of the newbie and the only girl who had got recruited by the WIZ club.

The members are curious about why Mr. Wan breaks his rules for her.

"Are there other members who want to have a match with Miss E? Speak now before we start the game so we could do an all-kill." Ghost asked the members who are all watching the big screen in the first room of the infinity game floor.

Mr. Wan called the newly design gaming area infinity since the two rooms are connected like an infinity symbol.

Miss E and Mantis are already in the adjacent room, sitting on their respective computer, waiting for the game to start.

"I'll play," DT said.

Shouting erupted when DT declared that he would like to play against Miss E.

Mr. Wan snorted and asked DT, "Are you sure about that?"

The statement from the Big Boss made everyone curious that other members decided to join the face-off and declare that they want to play with Miss E too.

"Suit yourself." Mr. Wan said, sitting in front of the big screen ready to watch the game.

On the other side of the room, Mantis, and Miss E was looking at each other with curiosity on why the people in the other room who are about to watch their game are being too noisy in excitement.

"Okay, after Mantis, DT will play, then Seven next is Grand. Let's start the game!" Ghost said that was agreed with a cheerful clapping.

"Okay, players you know how it goes, let's begin!"

Right after Ghost talked on the microphone for the players inside the next room, he pressed a button and the computer in front of Miss E and Mantis turned black before a string of commands pop on their respective monitor.

The members who are watching are being noisy spectator, everyone has an opinion for the game that they are watching, and then there was a deadly silence.

"Mantis get out of there, DT will be playing next." Mr. Wan said in the microphone.

Everyone was gaping in disbelief as DT enters the room and Mantis stepped out with a dejected face.

"What just happened? One asked.

"Are you blind?" Grand asked a confused One. "Mantis just got eaten alive."

When the game between DT and Miss E, starts no one dares to make a sound and tear their eyes off from the computer screen.

The game lasted for twenty-five minutes where DT was declared as the winner.

DT stood up and offered his hand for a handshake to Miss E.

"That was a good game. Welcome to the WIZ club," he said, gripping her hands in a firm shake.

Ellise felt her heart beating like crazy with what DT said. She never thought she needed to hear him acknowledge her.

"Thank you for the good game," she replied.

DT raised his eyebrow and a smile curves on his lips. "Mr. Wan proved himself right again."

Ellise watched DT get out of the room, while Seven sit down in front of the computer he left.

"Miss E, please be kind to me," he said, grinning.

"Let's have a good game," she replied with a smile.

Seven was dumbstruck seeing her smile and lost faster than Mantis. The members watching the game jeer at him but Seven just smiles like he won the game.

When Grand, pulled him out of the chair to change player, he whispered in Grand ears, "She is so pretty when she smiles."

Grand whacked his head and pushed him out of the chair.

Grand won over Miss E, but their game lasted for almost an hour.

"That's not an easy win that's for sure. I'm happy that DT refused you from his team," he said, grinning after the game.

Mr. Wan called them all back to the meeting room, to continue discussing the plan for the upcoming opening game of the CTF competition in China.
