"Gomen," she said with her head hung low.

She knitted her eyebrows on Mei Mei who was bowing her head and asking for an apology.

"What are you asking sorry for?"

"I didn't know that my brother acted in such a manner and he made you feel that way. Gomen," she asked for an apology again.

"We are friends and so are our families. I'm sure Hideaki didn't mean anything bad. He was just awkward."

Their eyes met and couldn't help but cackle.

"He can be troublesome sometimes. But you are important to nii-san. There is no question about that."

"I know," she sighed with relief that she and Mei Mei cleared up some issues that might be a start of a misunderstanding, " But we both know that I am not the best person for your brother," she added.

"Hmm. I still want nii-san to marry you if he is just going to marry those women that he has been dating lately," she sneered with disdain.

"Hideaki knows how to date now?", she scoffed sarcastically. "Perhaps if he pursued me before, rather than just shoving a diamond ring in my face, your dream of having me as your sister-in-law is now a reality."

"Well, not really dating. Those social climbers were literally and figuratively climbing on nii-san!" she cringed at the image painted by her chosen words. "They would go to his apartment unannounced in the middle of the night."

"Is the security of his building lax?" she asked conversationally. She wasn't interested in Hideaki's dating life.

"No. But his apartment and Ryu nii-san apartment are in the same building. Ryunii apartment floor is on the twenty-eighth floor, while nii-san is on the twenty-ninth floor. And they happened to share the same private elevator. The elevator stops only on Ryunii's floor and nii-san. Those women who knew that information and took advantage of it."

"And how do they manage to enter a private elevator, I wonder?" she snickered, in Mei Mei's sometimes naivety.

"It's because Ryunii gave away his elevator passcode to almost everyone," she clicked her tongue.

"And, if you were able to get the elevator passcode, anybody can just enter their house," she asked, watching Mei Mei's oblivious expression.

"Of course not!" she said vehemently. "The elevator passcode only works on the elevator, not on the door of their houses!" she exclaimed. She gave her a look that said - 'Are you not thinking?'

She smirked and lifted her eyebrow mockingly, "Exactly!"

"Nani —"

"The elevator passcode works only on the elevator. Not in their apartment door. "Hideaki must open the door for those women to enter his apartment." She opened her palms and shrugged her shoulders, "Sometimes you think too highly of your brother. He is just a man — man with carnal desires."

She rooted herself to the ground for a moment as her head tilted to the side, trying to process what she had heard.

"Don't look so dumbfounded. I have four brothers, and I am well aware of those styles."

She turned away from her and clicked her tongue as if she could not believe what she heard.

"It's pretty normal, Mei Mei. Boys will be boys. Do not think that your perfect nii-san will be an exception."

"Whatever! I will still not agree with any of those women," she crossed her arms over her chest. A judging smirk appears on her lips, "You won't agree to it too if you know the woman who frequents his apartment."

"Why do you know which women went to your brothers' apartment?" You must have a lot of free time in your hands to be able to do all that stuff," she commented with a snide.

"I have the access to the CCTV of the private elevator of their apartments —

"I find that disturbing," she cut her in the middle of her sentence.

"Shut up! You have brothers as well. "You have no idea how much stress I endure to make sure my stupid brothers don't get in trouble with those manipulative women who only care about the family name and the money that comes with it." she curled her lips in disgust.

"That's why I married off my brothers early on so I wouldn't have to be a gatekeeper for all those social climbers!"

"Ugh," she rolled her eyes. "My brothers are both stupid!"

"Well, they have free access to those kinds of women. "It's like free season all year round for them since they work in an industry where women are just —" she shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

"Oh, don't start me." She rolled her eyes, gleaming to tell the latest gossip she knew, "Those women working in the entertainment industry," she raised the corner of her lips in disapproval, "...chasing their dreams in the entertainment industry, shouldn't be at the cost of their moral values!"

"People always pursue things that shine," she melancholically said. A memory of a distant past flashed through her mind. It's of a boy with gentle brown eyes, wearing a mischievous smile.

She no longer paid attention to Mei Mei, who complained about the kinds of women getting acquainted with her brothers. Her thoughts were drawn to the boy with a pair of brown eyes and a mischievous smile.

"... that Rina Yamaguchi was the worst!"

The name Mei Mei spoke jolted her from her thoughts, "Rina Yamaguchi? You are still acquainted with that bitch?!"

"I don't have a choice." she snapped at her.

"Explain," she said in between clenched teeth. If there is a name she loathes the most, is that girl's name. While studying at an international school in Tokyo, that girl — Rina Yamaguchi made life miserable for her and Mei Mei.

"She is the most frequent visitor in nii-san's apartment."

A small voice at the back of her head goes 'huh' after knowing that Rina Yamaguchi is part of Hideaki's life.

"Did you talk to your brother about it?"

"I tried, but he dismissed me like I'm just one of those girls who say bad things behind Rina's back."

"I need to hear everything about the latest crap about this girl. I forgot she existed after I left Togawa High."

"She's just as evil as ever!"
