The doctor first asked Isabel a few questions, then took out the thermometer to measure Raymond's temperature. It was 38.5 degrees, a fever caused by a cold. The doctor prescribed some medicine and asked Isabel to pay for and collect them, then took Raymond to get an injection.
Before Isabel even entered the Injection Room, she could hear the cries of children inside. She then nervously glanced at Raymond, who was much shorter than herself.
Raymond stood there calmly, as if he wasn't afraid at all. But when it was almost his turn, Isabel clearly felt Raymond's sweaty palm gripping her hand.
Although he was scared, he pretended to be strong. Isabel felt a surge of tenderness welling up in her heart. She bent down to pick up Raymond and whispered into his ear as they walked into the Injection Room: "Raymond, don't be afraid. Older Sister is with you."
The once nervous Raymond suddenly brimmed with courage and genuinely stopped being afraid.
