Can You Trust Me?

"Urgghhh…" Francis suddenly fell on his knees and vomiting blood. His face turned really pale and he look so weak. I, who had just entered his office, hurriedly took a handkerchief and approached him. "What happened? This is not your first time vomiting blood!" I asked, pretending to panic. I knew the reason why he was in this state, it was because I poisoned him. "Cough… cough…" he coughed as he was vomiting blood. "I'm fine. As you said this is not my first time vomiting blood so I can handle it." He said after he stopped vomiting blood. "But I guess you have to stop pretending." He paused and moved his body closer to me. "Charlize," he whispered right to my ears. He still looked so weak due to the poison but he seemed like already used to it. "I know it is you who make me in this state." ------------- Hi everyone!!!  Thank you for supporting me this far, and sorry for not continuing this work. Somehow I lost my pace and mood regarding this work, so I just can't continue. This story actually ended with Francis and Olivia living happily ever after as the crown prince and princess, with their supporter still working with them. Once again, I'm sorry about this, and thank you for your support. I will be back with a new and fresh story see you

Anxious (Roosevelt POV)

How could Brother Francis suddenly get such a high score? He was a weak brother who could do nothing. All he could do was ditch his class and go missing. His score was always bad, below the average student. Because of that mother always had a reason to whip him.

But how could he suddenly get seventy percent in his exam? Even though that score was smaller than mine, it was still such a threat to me. Especially in this condition where there was only a small progress in my evaluation.

Did that girl do her job well? Olivia, I never like that girl even a little bit. I could accept she was a talented girl, but I never liked how my family treated her.

"Your highness, her highness the empress called for you." A maid came to my room, woke me up from my deep thoughts.

I ignored the maid and just walked outside to my mother's palace. My mother would scold me for sure. How if there was my uncle and he was upset with me? Brother Francis, I would make sure to make you regret this!

After walking for a while, I arrived at my mother's room at her palace. There, beside my mother, were my uncle, Marquis Withley, and Olivia Whitley, the marquis' daughter.

My mother sat on a large sofa while my uncle sat on her right and the other on her left side. There were no maids or servants in the room.

"Greetings, mother. Greetings uncle and Marquis." I bowed and greeted them. Marquis Whitley and his daughter bowed and greeted me as well.

From the aura in the room, I feel there would be a serious talk here. The fact that the evaluation result had been announced and the new year was near made the aura become more heavy."Take a seat Roosevelt." I followed my mother's word and sat in front of her.

"Since Prince Roosevelt is here, should we start?" Uncle started a meeting.

Mother sighed a bit. "Roosevelt, can you tell me why you only made a small progress at the evaluation? You even still far away from the maximum score." From her tone, I could tell that she was angry.

"I'm sorry. I will pay more attention in my class so I won't make the same mistake." I looked at the floor. "But." I raised my head and stared at Olivia, the girl who just sat silently. "How did Brother Francis get such a high score? He never got that score before."

Olivia remained silent. She didn't move or even respond to my question, while she knew I was staring at her.

"You better focus on your progress Roosevelt." Mother warned me.

Uncle coughed then started to speak. "Prince Roosevelt. It will be better if you focus on your own progress." He paused a bit, looking at Olivia. "But I think we also need to be aware of the threat. In this case, Prince Francis."

"Olivia, are you sure you report everything about Prince Francis?" Marquis Whitley asked her.

I felt a little pleased to see this scene. A scene where Olivia was questioned by mother, uncle or her father, the Marquis. She got their trust for everything she did. I got jealous of it.

Olivia smiled to be polite. "Yes, father. I reported every single thing to her highness the empress and his grace the duke." She replied as she saw mother then uncle. "I will make sure to watch him closer next time and make sure all of you know everything about him." She promised.

Uncle laughed, pleased. "I like your courage Olivia. I trust you." He took his tea cup and sipped it. "His tutor also reported to me everything he learned and still Olivia's report is much better than that tutor. I really like Olivia's work until now."

Why did my uncle trust her so much? What was so special about her? Just because she was a smart girl that worked for him since she was nine? She couldn't raise the family's reputation except through marriage! While for me, I could do that if I became the crown prince and ascended the throne. But why did everyone only look at her?

"I like that side of Olivia too." Even mother praised her. "Then, what made that prince get seventy on his evaluation? Do you have any ideas, marquis?" Mother looked at Marquis Whitley.

"I'm not sure about that, your highness. I had checked several times to make sure the question would be hard for Prince Francis." I could see the confusion in Marquis' face. He looked down to his closed hands.

Mother looked unsatisfied. "Then, the reason is he was cheating like what the rumors said? How funny is it?"

"Ahh… Your highness." Olivia spoke. Mother and uncle looked at her and gave a sign to keep going. "Well, I myself am still unsure what happened to Prince Francis during the evaluation. But isn't it a good thing that the rumor spread that way? I will make sure to work harder from now on."

"You better do it, Olivia."

After talking about several things, the discussion ended. Marquis and Olivia took their leaves first, while uncle stayed.

"That girl, we can trust her, right?" Mother spoke a few moments after Marquis Whitley and his daughter left. "I feel like her performance decreased."

At least mother questioning Olivia. It would be a living hell if everyone was on her side, because maybe they would let Olivia control me, even when I raised the throne. I would never let that happen!

"Maybe she is still adjusting to her new position. Working at the palace is harder than at the mansion after all." Uncle answered. "She also has some work at the mansion. We will see her progress."

Olivia, what had you done to uncle so he acted this way? I really would send you far away once I was crowned as the heir. The only hope of this family was only me! The prince from the Ashford family, not a lady from Whitley.

"And for you, Prince Roosevelt. Make sure you learned a lot. You got eighty percent last year and eighty five percent this year. Make sure you get a full score for the next evaluation. Don't disappoint your father and your family." Uncle's voice felt so intimidating, making me tremble.

"Yes uncle. I will make sure to make our family proud."
