Chapter 43: Trust in the Northern Path
"To overcome this," Bayo muttered to himself, his Yoruba accent thickening with stress, "I must approach it methodically." He stopped his movement and sank to the forest floor, leaves crunching beneath him, and closed his eyes.
Bayo attempted to recall Aroni's earlier revelation of Eternaforest, but the memory was frustratingly elusive. Fragments of the landscape flickered behind his eyelids, but a complete map remained just out of reach. Without it, finding the willful wolverine seemed an impossible task.
A fleeting thought of the creature's apparent freedom despite being an orisha's pet crossed Bayo's mind, but he quickly dismissed it, focusing instead on the challenge at hand.
