The Threat 2

"I'm grateful. We will talk about it later, enjoy your day at work" Williams said as he alighted from the car.

"Alright, thank you. It's like he is not yet aware of the partnership" Loveth thought as she drove to her office.

Williams got to the office and his secretary told him that the managing director wanted to see him.

He got up immediately and went to the director's office.

"What could the director be calling me for? " Williams thought as he was about to enter the director's office.

"Williams, you have to schedule a meeting with the manager of Henry and sons' company. I've already sent mail to them. I've approved their partnership" The director said.

"Alright, sir! When should the meeting be sir?" Williams asked calmly

"I will give you all the information you need today. So by tomorrow, you may leave by noon" the director said.

Williams' joy knew no bounds. He was so happy because he will do two things together, the company's work and also her work.

"You can go now, I will send my secretary to you," the director said.

Williams left the director's office and began to leap for joy. He was happy because the company's partnership will bring closeness between him and Loveth.

He got to his office and began to do all the work for that day and also some of the work for the following day.

Loveth was busy with her work when a message dropped on her phone, she opened the message and discovered that it was Williams congratulating her on the success of her company.

Loveth smiled and continued with what she was doing.

Some minutes later, she stood up and went out for lunch, she was very hungry.

As she was walking she was smiling while greeting anybody on her way. Some of her junior colleagues were so surprised. Her sudden change of attitude baffled them. They also talked about her mode of dressing. They were happy about the change of attitude.

Loveth got to the company's restaurant, bought her food, and began to eat.

Loveth got back to the office and began to check the company's mail.

She opened it and she was very happy and surprised by the meeting between her company and their own. She stood up immediately and went back to her office to finish what she was doing.

Mr. Henry was playing in the house garden when he decided to check his messages. He saw the one from oil and gas company.

He forwarded the message to Loveth.

Loveth was about to close at work when a call came in. It was an unknown number, she thought who the person could be but couldn't get any answer to it. She picked up the phone and was so surprised by the caller. She quickly dropped the call and switched off her phone.

"What should I do now? Why is this man interested in spoiling my life? Why? Should I tell my parents? Oh no! I won't do that. " Loveth thought.

"I think it is time to tell Willians before it will get out of hand," Loveth thought

She dialed Williams' number, she told him that she wants to see him. Williams was wondering what could be so urgent that she can't wait but he replied her that they will see the following day. He explained that after discussing the company work they would talk about themselves too.

Mrs. Henry got back home and went straight to her husband. She told her husband about the changes in prices of all the items needed for their daughter's birthday.

"You are right, things are very costly now but we have to do the birthday for her," Mr. Henry said.

"Okay. we will do it with the available money that we have. Let me just list every item needed and the cost of the items" Mrs. Henry said calmly.

"You are right, I will transfer the money to you immediately. So you can do justice to it" Mr. Henry said.

They were in the middle of planning when Loveth entered.

She was looking tired and fed up.

She tried to cover up but her mother noticed her.

"Daughter, how are you? Hope you are fine?" Mrs. Henry said.

"Fine, mum. I have to go and freshen up now" Loveth said to excuse herself.

Mrs. Henry wanted to call her back but she thought of going to her room after dinner.

Loveth rushed to her room and locked the door at the back. She went to the bathroom and sit inside the bathtub. She was so uneasy because of the message her ex-lover sent.

She sat down there for a while before an idea came to her mind. She got out of the bathtub, put on her nightwear, and came to the dining table.

"Dad! Good evening sir" Loveth said calmly.

"Daughter! How are you? How was work today? Have you seen the invitation from the oil and gas company?" Mr. Henry said.

"Yes, dad! By noon tomorrow. I have to go to the office early to prepare for the meeting" Loveth replied.

"What happened to you, daughter? Are you fine? You are cold' Mr. Henry said in concern.

Mrs. Henry looked at her daughter's face and discovered that she was not happy. She thought of not asking her anything now but will go and meet her in her room.

" Dad! I'm fine, I just need to sleep early and that is all" Loveth said and fake a smile.

"Okay then, if you say so," Mr. Henry said.

Mrs. Henry dished food for her and she began to eat.

"Should I tell mum what is happening to me now? She warned me of this wayward life but I didn't listen. I thought I was enjoying myself. Look at what is happening to me now?" Loveth thought.

Mrs. Henry watched her daughter as she eats her food and confirmed that something is bothering her. She made up her mind to speak with her that day before she went to sleep.

Loveth finished her food and stood up, she greeted her parents and went to her room.

"Something is bothering my daughter and I must speak with her," Mrs. Henry told her husband.

"You are right, maybe you go and check her," Mr. Henry said calmly.

Mrs. Henry stood up immediately and went to her room.

Loveth got to her room, picked up her phone, and discovered another threatening message.

Tears flew freely from her eyes. She read the message again and again.

"How did Mr. Raymond know Williams? I just have to tell Wiliams" Loveth said to herself.

Mrs. Henry got to her door, she wanted to knock but she discovered that the door is not locked. she entered quietly and saw her daughter crying and talking to herself.

"This is serious! What should I do now?" Mrs. Henry thought

Loveth raised her head and was surprised to see her mum in front of her.

She looked straight at the door, she remembered that she didn't lock the door.

" There is nothing to hide from her again. It's like she heard what I was saying" Loveth thought.

Mrs. Henry sat down quietly beside her and used her clothes to wipe her tears.

"What is the matter, my daughter? You can confide in me and tell me whatever that is bothering you" Mrs. Henry said calmly.

Loveth opened her mouth to talk but nothing came out. She just handed over the phone to her.

Mrs. Henry went through it and was shocked. She stood up immediately to call her husband but Loveth dragged her back.

"This is too much now. Who is he that wants to be blackmailing my daughter?" Mrs. Henry said angrily

"I caused it, mum! Why did I allow that man in my life? Now that I found the right one, my past won't let me" Loveth said in her crying state.

Mrs. Henry did not know what to do again, she remembered the man that her daughter was dating and then thought she warned her she didn't listen.

"Daughter! Don't cry again. Everything will be alright. But let me tell your father about this issue" Mrs. Henry said.

Loveth quickly wiped her face and shouted that her mother should not tell her father. She explained further that she would just tell Williams about her past, and if he refuses to continue with her, she would move on with her life.

Mrs. Henry reasoned with what her daughter said but still wanted the man to be punished.

Mr. Henry waited for his wife for some minutes and discovered she was not yet around. He stood up immediately and walked slowly to his daughter's room.

He got close to the door of her room and heard everything they said. As he discovered his wife was about to come, he quickly rushed back to his room without anyone noticing him.

Mrs. Henry stayed for some minutes with her daughter, she began to crack jokes for her to be relieved.

"Who is the man threatening my daughter? I won't take that. I'm going to get to the route of the matter. But who is Williams? I still need more information from my wife" Mr. Henry thought.

Mrs. Henry saw that her daughter was already sleeping as they both lay on the bed. She stood up quietly and went to their room.
