Who is she?
"Taka!" I heard as I snapped out of my day dream
"Do you want this job or not? You have no experience, no skills, and no education, yet I gave you the opportunity to accel."
" I want to accel." I replied as I thought to myself "is this really a good fit for me?"
"Then pay attention, if you want to be something in this world with a shogai like yours you're going to have to work harder then everybody else who was blessed with something better." my father said in a stern tone as always
Just as he finished I drifted off once again.
Later that night, I'm walking home pondering what life would be like with a better shogai. Out of the corner of my eye I seen a figure of a girl croutched by a dumpster in the dark alleyway beside me. It was getting dark so I couldn't see too well and I could only make out one thing...
Actually it was two "things" protruding out of her back she wouldn't look up at me, she just sat there sobbing her eyes out.
How embarrassing.
" Get a grip" I mutter
"What is happening I dont understand how I got.."
I couldn't really understand her gibberish
So I started walking off and felt something wrap around my leg.
Next thing I knew I was on the ground.
I glanced down at my leg. It was a thick light purple vine leading to her back. She started dragging me towards her.
"I've seen hentai like this" I said quietly to myself as the other vine came towards my neck coiling around it.
Just then I heard laughter. Not that of a maniacal killer but that of a girl.
I felt the pressure relieve from my throat glancing over I seen the girl laughing
"What the hell is your problem?!"I screamed
"I dont know!" She screamed back "I woke up here with these things on my back! I dont even know where i am"
"Are you telling me you have never noticed your shogai?"I ask
"Shogai? I dont know what that is"
" What do you mean you dont know what that is? Everybody has a shogai" I told her "its what makes us all different."
"I dont understand. Where am i?" She asks
"This lady's crazy" I think to myself
"The land of Ginto, and a shogai is what makes you special.. or so they say, some are special others are treated as garbage if their gift isnt powerful nor useful. Just be happy your shogai was those two things" I say condisendingly
"Well then what's your shogai? You look like a normal teenage boy to me" she says
" I'm 22" I say almost under my breath
Her jaw drops to the cold hard concrete
"You look 12!" She says as her laughter grows
" that's my shogai, I dont age past the time I can reproduce" I replied
God she's annoying
"I'm nomi what's your name?" She asks
I can now she her face fully well, besides all the dirt and grime. She looks 17 or 18 with red, medium length hair and green. eyes.
"I'm taka, you asked a question my turn now"
She looks at me listening intently
" why are you so calm? You're obviously not from this world how are you going to get back to where you're from?"I ask
" where I'm from I was scum. Homeless, no family, and no friends." she replies
She starts looking toward her back
" now I have these and I think I've also made a friend" she says with a smile starting to form
" dont get your Hope's up. Come on, you can stay the night at my place with my buddy manji and I for the night"
"Really?! Thank you thank you thank you! I know you'll warm up to me! I'll make sure you dont regret this"
She was jumping up and down with excitement.
"Yeah what ever. Come on now"
And so then we headed home.
